Ya'll are gamblers. Give this poor guy some mysterious power, then bring a roof down on him :\

Re: Castlevania - Corruption's Embrace

Here's to hoping his mysterious power has some sort of anti-roof capability...

Winning choice:C - despite a late attempt at B coming up short.

Julia's Status:
Health 15/15
Attack: 9
Defense: 5
Critical hit chance: 30%
Main Weapon: Whip (Deals 2 Damage per strike)
Sub Weapon: Dagger
Armor: Basic Clothes, top is ripped (No damage reduction)

--------------------------------------

Wasting no time, Julia leaps forward, toward the burning house and the skeleton. The creature turns, seeing Julia approaching, and it raises its arm defensively. Julia's whip sails past it and wraps around a burning support beam on the roof. Mid-air, she heaves downward with all her strength.

With a mighty crack, the beam gives way and swings downward onto the skeleton. The animated creature has no chance to get out of the way, and its skull is crushed by the weight of the burning log.

With no sign of Christof, Julia is forced to turn about and face the necromancer, not knowing if her gambit has saved the man's life. The necromancer's spell ends, and a single zombie arises. The zombie is a slightly faster, stronger version of the shambler, but it still proves to be no match for Julia's righteous whip, which sends it back to hell in short order.

The necromancer shows fear in its eyes as Julia approaches, having defeated all of its minions. It puts up its rotting, gnarled hand to ward her off, but the final strike lands, and the necromancer crumbles amidst the purple haze of spellfire.

TABITHA: Christof!! Are you there?!

Anxious moments pass, and then there is the sound of coughing from the far side of the rubble.

CHRISTOF: Yeah. I'm still alive...

TABITHA: Oh! Thank goodness!

Julia feels more at ease, knowing that Christof has survived the encounter. She steps over to Christof and helps him up. Tabitha runs over to his other side, and together they pull him to the side of the main village road.

CHRISTOF: I guess I wasn't as useful as I thought I'd be. You though, Julia. You're amazing. Where did you get such power? You're obviously no mere woman.

JULIA: I am a Belmont. A clan of vampire hunters.

CHRISTOF: The Belmonts?! Of course! But I had thought they'd all but died off?

JULIA: No, there is still myself, and Aiden... but now the forces of darkness have him. I must hurry. There may yet be time to save him.

CHRISTOF: I see... then if I cannot aid you in battle, at the very least, take my dagger.

Christof hands the dagger over to Julia. The blade is finely made. [JULIA gained dagger sub weapon]

TABITHA: I will make sure that Christof and the others get the healing they need. Then we'll make our way to Klausenburg. Now that our village is destroyed, we'll have to go there to be safe. Who knows what the nights will be like if this curse lasts?

JULIA: I'll do my best to end it. But if Dracula has returned and is the source of these undead, I'll need the true weapon of my clan to defeat him. I will need to head to the Ancestral Grounds....

TABITHA: Before you go, take this. It's the least I can do to repay you for saving my life.

Julia receives [Tabitha's Heart Potion]. Max Health rises by 5! Health bar to full!

CHRISTOF: If you get to Klausenburg, come find us. Perhaps there will be more ways we can help you.

STAGE 1 COMPLETE!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Decision Time:
A) Clear the road to Klausenburg, the villagers may still need your protection, then you can make your way along the roads towards the Ancestral Grounds.
B) Take a short cut to the Ancestral Grounds through the Whispering Marsh (difficult).
C) We don't need to go directly to the Ancestral Grounds, pursue the dark riders into the Shadowed Woods.
Whew, now that my conscious is clear...
Choice A, please. I would choose B, but I don't feel like going "all in" quite yet.
Re: Castlevania - Corruption's Embrace
Gamble paid off!
Also, B. Don't be scurred. Besides, it's a shortcut to the stuff we need anyway.
Dealing with the riders should make it much safer for the villagers to travel, and maybe Julia can steal a horse to catch up with the villagers and escort them the rest of the way.
Re: Castlevania - Corruption's Embrace
A, items first.
