Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning
Yes, people get angry about not being able to play their character proper, as they feel when hit with powerful burning attacks or mastered attacks, or realizing they can't hit someone with their powerful attack if the one they attack has a strong defensive skill and then look at the DM for answers at best, or to unload their frustrations at worst.
The answers is.. the system is not perfect, but I try my best to keep it balanced, -if actual issues are brought to my attention- sometimes you roll good, sometimes you roll bad, My character, as a matter IN THE HILLS has been defeated, by the heroes, in a single attack, before I even got to roleplay her in combat. Does that mean special attacks are overpowered? No. I got hit in my weakest attribute with a high offense special attack without a defensive power that could have saved me, my mistake, so I move along knowing that a different build could have easily taken down the kitteh and maybe consider improvements to my character, build or roleplay wise, because thats what I feel is a selling point of this setting, confronting you with your approach NOT being sucessful, be it as demon or as hero.
Because one defeat can make you stronger than a bunch of wins.
