Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Before I make a character, do you need more Heroes or more Demons?

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Yay! Though my reply to High Mountains shall still be delayed for a while. Have to write a paper for a class.

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Is it just me or is mastered attack sort of hideously powerful?

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Shutting up sorry...

Would it help if I mentioned I'm writing up a new villain and a new Heroine?

Because I can't help myself when it comes to characters...?

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Either shutting up, or, I'd like you to explain what goal you pursued by making this remark rather than for example, craft a more elaborate rp response in the Underdark, or if Anyin displeases you, stating so, moving on and putting more effort into your characters in creation, with mastered attack or without, as it pleases you.

But anyway, I guess the proper answer is: Mastered attack has been pointed out before by others, because it seems like the easiest way to gain power if you glance over the abilities casually. As a matter of fact it was the measuring stick to gauge most other skills by, because it is the most balanced skill in the game, 1 point gives you exactly half an attribute point in value back. If you motivate me I'll even explain the math behind it.

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

It was more about halfling hills actually, but no, I was being ornery and stupid and I can't un-write it much as I'd like to.

I won't make you write out the math of it, I can see it easily enough when I actually look at it, I was just angry and not looking...

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Yes, people get angry about not being able to play their character proper, as they feel when hit with powerful burning attacks or mastered attacks, or realizing they can't hit someone with their powerful attack if the one they attack has a strong defensive skill and then look at the DM for answers at best, or to unload their frustrations at worst.

The answers is.. the system is not perfect, but I try my best to keep it balanced, -if actual issues are brought to my attention- sometimes you roll good, sometimes you roll bad, My character, as a matter IN THE HILLS has been defeated, by the heroes, in a single attack, before I even got to roleplay her in combat. Does that mean special attacks are overpowered? No. I got hit in my weakest attribute with a high offense special attack without a defensive power that could have saved me, my mistake, so I move along knowing that a different build could have easily taken down the kitteh and maybe consider improvements to my character, build or roleplay wise, because thats what I feel is a selling point of this setting, confronting you with your approach NOT being sucessful, be it as demon or as hero.

Because one defeat can make you stronger than a bunch of wins.

It won't happen again, I overstepped because I was frustrated and not thinking.

May I change the subject momentarily? If I wanted to make a dragon, like full on wings scales and fire breath, what sort of abilities would best represent the scale? Or should I scrap the concept and aim for something else?

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Fire control, flight and damage reduction physical. propably also a size increase.

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Is there an ability for size increase though? That's what I was specifically asking about, I haven't been able to find anything like that. Or is the Size Change ability a permanent thing? I thought that it was temporary like for a few rounds...

EDIT: If I am in fact an idiot and that is the way it works, does the battle dice change only apply to physical?

It applies to all but I consider nerfing it sligtly along the way.

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Made a Dragon, Hope it's alright.

Re: Corruption Tournament OOC discussion and planning

Has Sanethia been approved yet or no?

Sanethia is Approved though I personally feel she lacks effort, backstory wise, there is nothing technically wrong with her statwise and a dull backround is not against any rules.

Kinky. I'm quite sure that with some digging you could find a better pictur, for example, from The Last Demonhunter (TM)

Alternatively, I recommend you find a princess to recreate the picture, I just so happen to have one...

Err, to focus on the approving process!

.. looks fine, powerful dragon for sure. As I said, I think he's interesting, give me a holler. :p Approved
