If ca. 21,000 posts have taken ca. 7 years... the remaining 979,000 posts should just take... about 326 years, I think.

Well, it doesn't help that there are, at times, only upward to three or four of us posting in this and we sometimes go days between. Then there's times when we get on jags and get 100 posts done in two hours. Really all depends.

If each new user wanted to help us here posting 15 times at least the goal would be easy to reach

It certainly depends, but statistics tend to become more reliable the larger the sample size, and in this case I'd argue that calculating the mean speed of thousands of posts over 7 years oughta account for various fluctuations in posting irregularity and spurts.
