2 is the one that got translated for some reason they ignored 1
it's actually very easy to tell because they're listed as sequels, besides ni means two and san means three
but how do you actually now the reimeiki number of the games???

I was just scrolling down the product page and looking at the thumbnails; I completely missed that was her because the dark filter on the splash image was turning her hair purple. Heh.

Edit: Now I'm looking and that's actually been consistent though all of Maika's appearances, her hair basically just matches current lighting conditions. As opposed to Nazuna always being obviously blond, no matter how dark it is.

you need to have both your pc set to japanese locale AND ALSO use locale emulator for some games, for some fucking reason

I looked at the CGs for 7 (the one with the yuki-onna girl) and very unusually for this series, it looks like her scenes are fully consensual. What's going on there? (I don't think Kagura Reimeiki ~Rio no Shou~ Ni has been translated, if it has point me at it)

That's the bad end of that particular work, after Rio's been turned into a monster. She's preying on someone else. The victim will probably enjoy while it lasts, but he ain't surviving it. (You can even see frost starting to form on the victim.)

Starting with 7, you have the option of giving up and getting the bad ending after seeing the final boss's 2nd defeat event. Most of the bad ends result in the MC (or MCs) of that work becoming a breeding slave(s) for the monsters, but a handful instead end with the MC becoming a youkai and preying on other humans.

The two most recent games (Shinpuki 4 and 5) look to do both - surrendering to the mid-boss gets you the youkai ending, surrendering to the final boss gets you the slave ending (that's an extended sequence).

Also, Shinpuki 5 is out and its CG gallery already posted. (No content warning necessary.) Maika as a nekomata is cute.

Spoiler: Maika definitely seems to be having more fun in the youkai ending.

Next game is yet to be announced, but I'm sure we'll see it tomorrow.

Edit: Shinpuki 6 is announced and it's Murasaki, the blue-haired twerp. Murasaki passes for a 12 year old so this one gets the loli tag.

Kenji was also the writer for Kagura Douchuuki, among other things. Looking at his VNDB entry, it looks like he was with Studio e.go! since 1999, jumped ship to Debonosu to do Kagura Douchuuki and its spin-off visual novel with the school, left in 2009 to work with Tinkerbell, came back in 2012 to do Kurenai Kagura, in 2013-14 did a few games for Devil-Seal, and then quit the field (last post on his PIXIV is 2014). But yeah, this guy wrote Natsu Kagura, Oni Kagura, Ama Kagura (the shooter), and Tsuki Kagura. Ah, okay. Looks like he left the h-game industry behind and is now writing mainstream light novels. I feel like I've heard of Everyday Magicians? His twitter handle is hoshinewone. Edit: I have to be mistaking it something else, there's no way I'd heard of

Which is obviously a psuedonym, but now that I know to look for it he's been working with Debonosu for a while; they were writer on the 2nd Kagura mystery dungeon game, Kagura Gensoutan. Char also wrote Reimeiki 15 (Hatsuka) & 17 (Keika). Okay, Char's career started back in 2004 and they've done work for numerous companies, including ANIM, Black Rainbow, CLOCK UP and Liquid. He's been a regular for Debonosu ever since Reimeiki 2 (Yukari's first appearance in that series). A giant chunk of the Reimeiki and post-Reimeiki games are written by Char. Not a majority but a large minority.

So yes, you are right and it's a completely different writer.
