Hey guys,

I'm currently sitting on a translation for a game and, as always, I do the sex scenes last because they can be super annoying and are quite long...

While struggling to finish all the scenes I started wondering if people actually read the sex dialogues, I mean, if I do a full translation this is obviously a part of it but I'm just really curious if people play translated versions solely for the purpose of understanding what they have to do in order to advance or if they actually read everything even if it's not necessary to advance...

So ? What about you ? =D

If the story is really good, then yes i want a good English translation that i can read. As far as i know sometimes it does get quite repetitive but all the hard work you translators put into it, i just want to let you know we recognize and appreciate it

I don't usually read the part where they heroine just keeping moaning. I do like reading the male dialogues though as they are usually quite ridiculous.

To be perfectly frank, if I just wanted to watch two or more beings having sex, I'd just watch porn. I want more from a game.

Guess it depend on how interesting / how well written it is.

If all you got is moaning and the usual "more / take that bitch", I end up skipping.
If there"s real text then I read it. Of course, sometime, I skip some part of already read text.

As a side answer, translating a H-game and not the H-scene is sure to get you under flood of unhappy guys... It might pass if it is a story focused h-game with few H-scenes, but even then, you'll get angry / nasty comment&neg rep... human nature -_-

I read. I've found that even in games that I like and can get by without knowing what is being said, if I play the game again later translated I'll like it twice as well. So much of getting into a scene lies in the specifics.

Usually what I need is UI-Menu , and the story. And what need to be done in order to advance the story
As for the girls moaning or whatever it is , I skipped it.

I read sex dialogue when its funny and awkward, which is usually the case especially if the work contains corruption or something. Otherwise I usually just skip and pay more attention to the CG. Like I don't need to read "I'm cumming XD XD XD XD XD XD" after the fifteenth time it shows up.

I'd mostly read for progression but if the story is good then I'd read the whole thing. Then again, progression is basically what everyone wants so...

I tend to read a few things... mainly.


1. The clues to where I am supposed to go or do.
2. The options
3. What gear/items do and or effects they have
4. Stats

Thats about it, for actual story no...

if it basically said... (example)

Random NPC: 何の猫何の猫何の猫何の猫 Go to the north and kill 3 monsters 何の猫何の猫何の猫.

Thats all I need to know!

Yes.
I want to know what kind of emotions the character goes through when she/he has intercourse.
i'm here to watch porn and read at the same time.
if i had to stare at a CG with hentai for me it would be boring, if i can't immerse myself into the situation without some kind of text.

Yup, I do! I enjoy being able to read the dialogue and descriptions of what's happening during sex scenes, rather than just getting the CG. And machine translations tend to be somewhat lacking in that department...

Yes I read the sex scenes. Some of my favorite HGames have well written sex scenes. There are some aspects of sex that only written word can enhance.

Obviously I read sex scenes. If I'd wanted to look some CGs or porn pics I'd just go to the e-hentai and look at them, right?

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I feel the same as most of you guys.

As long as the scenes aren't super generic and the character evolves throughout the story, I always read the sex dialogues...

Personally I can't bring myself to play the game if the h-scenes are not translated. It brings me out of the immersion, I know it sounds stupid but It does. That's why I don't like playing games with partials, or if the h-scenes aren't translated. :/ Also might I ask which game you're nearly finished? You've got me curious. lol
