What's new

FGT Scat Loli Ryona Guro [Eluku] Fairy Fighting (2024 remake)

Hell yeah! The old version still technically runs, but the older it gets the more it's crashed if I run it for too long, or sometimes when I switch between playing different characters.

A more stable version sounds like just what I need.

Edit for thoughts so far having played the new version:

Maybe I'm just used to the original, but not being able to cancel one move to switch to another, or at least, not nearly as quickly, is driving me insane. It results in a lot of hits that I feel I shouldn't have taken because I reacted in time, but was stuck in an animation, especially with dodges having a pause after each one. The entire combat flow has changed from trying to slip through the enemy attacks to get a chain of attacks off to keep them stunned as long as possible, to something that feel more like Dark Souls, where you better not commit to anything unless your sure it's the right move, or you'll get slammed mid animation.

The trouble is, with instant kill moves, that unable to dodge in time problem can have seriously detrimental effects. I got hung up on level 3 with the drinking worm for quite a while because I kept getting snagged by the one shot move.

Some enemies honestly feel better for the update though. Fluid hunter was just bulliable in the original game, but feels stronger now. Especially since it's one shot grab now launches it across the map after you, which did surprise me and get me the first time since I wasn't expecting it.

The expanded bee is just as over tuned as it was in the original game, with the same problem that quite a number of your attacks just literally can't hit it thanks to where it's hit box is since it's flying. The problem is even worse in the new one however, because in the original, the bee had grab moves that could heal you, so you could keep at it, and wear the bee down so long as you avoided letting it heal itself off of you. Now it just slashes you to death with power attacks that deal 2 to 3 times as much damage as you, while also being near impossible to hit as it zips around the map. And if you do manage to get a good run going. Your going to find yourself mid attack as it hits full super bar and one shot grabs you again.

I did manage to beat it eventually, in I think about the same number of tries it took me to get drinking worm down, but it felt worse. Drinking worm once I found my feet felt like I could beat it, I just had consistent bad luck in timing of when it's super bar filled up. Expanded bee on the other hand felt more like when I finally beat it was because I got lucky, not because I had figured it out.

Also an annoyance of note, and the big reason I was willing to throw myself into beating all these enemies, is that you're going to have to beat all the enemies in the story mode. The free battle mode starts with only the first 6 enemies available. Each one after that unlocks individually by reaching it's level in story mode. Unless there's an unlock button somewhere I missed, you have to beat everyone to have access to them.

I'll add more thoughts as I progress further.

Edit 2 a few more thoughts:

The Milk Jellyfish fight is much more manageable than in the original, thanks to the fact you can QTE avoid the one shot loss moves, and avoid the mini milk pod it spits out. Originally, you practically had to beat the jellyfish with a perfect run, because if you screwed up at all it would either undo all the damage you did, or one shot you to a bad end. Made especially difficult by the fact that you could basically hit it only one hit at a time, because it would deflate briefly and be uninhabitable. Victory is much more achievable now.

Fairy Crushers are also a bit more manageable because you can interrupt the massive erection they get when they hit max super power by hitting them, forcing them to get from zero to full energy again.

Going to bed for now, will add more later

Edit 3, Day 2:

The fights continue to be difficult but manageable. Slicer previously described the original as less of a fairy fighting game and more of a fairy rape simulator. The changes seem to have made the switch from fairy rape simulator to difficult fairy fighting game.

I've gotten a better hang of how Tiki handles with the new control scheme. Not as good as I could be, but feeling less like I'm fighting the controls just as much as the enemy.

The game made the decision to skip the Hell's Gate level, and take you straight to the final boss, which I thought was probably a good decision. The mechanics of the original Hell's Gate were rather obtuse, especially with the secret rape based key you had to earn on your way there. Combined with the fact that if you couldn't get Tiki to use her self heal (which I never could, not sure if I was just bad or if it was the game's occasional idiosyncratic ability to read your input) it was literally impossible with out the Health cheat. The traps did too much damage.

And speaking of the sex based key, since the game removed it, whether or not you get the good or bad ending is now based on how much health you have left when you beat the boss. It's even polite and offers you a clearly labeled dividing line on your health bar.

As an aside, has anyone anywhere found someone who can claim to have beaten the whole game in one run and gotten the good ending? Because given how the ending worked in the original, you would have to be a wizard to that. Even with the infinite health and special cheats, it would be insanely difficult. I can claim to have beaten every fight individually if not in one run, and claim to have gotten both the good and bad ending (with cheats for the boss fight, though even with those cheats, I honestly have never replicated the one time I got the two endings. My best guess is that I exploited a glitch that I never got to work again, because in the original the final bosses health regeneration was absolutely fucking insane, and it didn't turn off if it decided to close up the shell.)

The new final boss fight was well designed in my opinion. It's tough, and it even brings in the Hell's Door monsters that it skipped the level of. After you do enough damage to the boss, it closes the shell and becomes invulnerable and spawns two of the traps, which two is random. You have to punch them to death to get the shell to open again. Once it opens, it changes phases, and uses some different attacks.

The most annoying part I found was the possibility of going from one grab immediately to another, because your options after a grab are hold still or dodge left or right, and if holding still and moving left or right all drop you on something that grabs you if you touch it, well your just fucked. This is less a new issue, and more just a return to the fairy rape simulator difficulty of the original, and honestly not nearly as bad as the original was for grab chaining. It's just noticeable, because the remake had improved so significantly in the area of not having you get unavoidably grab chained, when it shows up in the final battle again it's a change of pace. It is worst during the mid fight between phases, when the two Hell's Door traps spawn in. There was a Hell's Door jellyfish from the beginning of the boss fight, but now a second one spawns, two traps are there, and the edge of the map will also grab you, which can lead to some being juggled by grabs if things go wrong.

I did after several attempts, achieve the good ending. It was very nice to see it again after multiple years of not being able to repeat the feat of getting an ending at all.

The gallery is very convenient for the getting a particular grab on demand issue, especially since we can't try controlling any of the enemy characters and doing the grabs ourselves like we could in the original. While I wish they could bring back that feature, I think I recall it being said somewhere that the way the remake was built, that feature would break the game. Nothing is insurmountable with enough work, but I'm just happy they finished honestly. If I want to bully Tiki myself, I can always play the original.

Having gotten a better hold of the new controls and flow, I went back to fight expanded Bee again to see if I thought he was still a problem.

I did better, but I still think he's overtuned. Part of the problem that I didn't mention in the first round of complaints is that unlike most enemies, you can't block his normal attacks, only dodge them. Or if you can block, I somehow never successfully did so. He's also moves so quickly it's actually possible for him to dodge a successful counter attack.

I suspect other people are also going to struggle with him, so I'll share what eventually worked for me. You can dodge his ult grab and his normal grab and some of his attacks by ducking. It drops your hitbox below his move. One of his attacks does swoop low enough to get you even if you duck, so becareful about which attack he's using. Try to avoid button mashing, as both his normal grab and his one shot ultra grab have a QTE escape option. The timer for it gets faster every grab, so you will fail eventaully, likely on the third or fourth grab even if you don't misclick, but it will help. The best attack I found was Up-Heavy. It's a rising punch and hits him multiple times for a reasonable bit of damage. Needs close range. Make sure you launch your ult when he's not mid move. He has i-frames while he's doing his dash.

That's all my thoughts for now. If people want more information before buying themselves, I am open to answering what questions I can about the new experience.

so i just discover that goddamn Fairy Fight actually got "remake" and finally live on DLsite, can't believe it's real.
and so far, i genuinely love it, because it's run on Unity and like extremely damn stable unlike the og. I several gameplay element change such as the button mashing to escape has been removed and turn into QTE which is totally fine and balance in term of gameplay, and oh dear there's finally tutorial cause the og didn't have any and i still can't master it at all.
i remember this game being very merciless but i feel like this new remake has remade the gameplay for balance and very merciful than the og.
