Enhuvin had rushed to do the same thing that Mehuia was, having forgotten right out about his clothes -- he splashed back out of the lake to gather them before following her lead once more, belatedly. Thus he was behind her when she reached the other side; as she was washing, he was putting his clothes on the bank and coming back into the deep end.
