Disregard the mind blowingly arrogant and pretentious home page and the stupid community (seriously, it's like 90% questions, 5% "this game is teh sux", 4.9% "HOLY SHIT JOIN MAH ALLIANCE!!!!1", 0.1% smart people, 100% RuneScape).

It's a game kind of like Trivian, if you've ever heard of it. You build a city, attack other players, and defend yourself. Like EVERY FREE GAME EVER, it's got special currency called "Cents" you spend eye arr ell money to buy. I want to say right now, please, for the love of Christ, if for a SECOND, you consider asking a question, make sure you're following the

I don't think there are any referral links or anything, for better or for worse.

If you're going to play this, be aware that it's one of those games where you click "Upgrade" or "Build" and wait for a while until it finishes. So be sure you have something else to do in the meantime.

My name is Obeliskos (what else?) and my city is called "Purgatory". I'm usually in server 23 because that's where the game started me off.

Travian player. I'm on servers us1, us3 and us4.

us1 just restarted. I joined a good alliance that actually teaches it's new players tricks. Like proper upgrade priority.

I'm a resource supplier for a big player on us3. He started wrecking my village after my alliance partner got all bitchy cause of one little raid, but we worked things out. He even set me up with a new village.

us4 is where interesting things are happening. A big alliance is clearing the spaces around it's members for kicks, which happens to have all of our newer recruits, we just ditched a big jerk that was trying to organize a mutiny, and now he's harassing the nearby alliance mates, including me.

What I want to know about Evony: Is there porn? Or are their advertisements provocative to grab your attention?

Well, I wouldn't consider it an mmo, as there are like... a hundred people online at any time. But its got teh sex.

Setting up is a pain in the ass, it is not free, and don't ever let them know you're under 21 if you sneak past the whatever they use as a filter for age. I played it way back when and it deffinately had its moments.

Also the website is a lie.

Viva Ponata most of us were playing it on the original forum, I think there's a group for it here. Not sure if anyone still plays though.

No, it wasn't that. It was actually a full fledged MMO that you had to download and everything.

We were quite well known and high level players in the game, and LM's studio was in the hall of fame. Then the site got hacked, everyone had to be reset to level 1, and we all left.

Besides that, viva ponata wasn't really that interesting, it was fun for a while, but nothing that lasts. I also know of a fourth sex mmo, but that one was only out in a beta state, in Korea only or something.

Btw I've made an evony account on server 24 I think.

Just upgrading my town centre to level 3.

The constant streams of "what is this game" and "how do I [insert quite obvious thing here]" amuse me.

I would personally enjoy having the ability to strangle all of those people. No lethality of course. What's the point of injuring somebody over being stupid if they can't stay alive to learn the lesson?

If they survive, then perhaps they have a chance of learning the lesson.

If they do not, then they likely weren't worthy of learning it but can still be used as an object lesson for others.

My question about this game is: Is it like Trivian where if I do not go for the absolutely right build order and join a huge guild in the beginning, will my ass be raped like a virgin catholic schoolboy ass in the manliest man prison shower room?

I didn't experience that. But I joined a guild before beginner's protection expired and that guild happened to be a good one.

You do need to join a guild and if you're unlucky it's full of assholes. If you're lucky, you're going to get advice, protection and resources when you need them.
