The area seemed completely abandoned, though she spotted a few bestial tracks on the ground, along with a few that looked like bare human feet. Nothing moved in the nearby shacks, at least nothing that Mina could detect, and the place was silent save for the patter of rain.

Mina crouched looking at the tracks that appeared to be human feet, checking their paths to see if any led to a nearby house. Perhaps a survivor hiding from the demons or a fellow hunter. Either could give her more info and allow her a better grasp on the situation in the city and around it.

There were many sets of human tracks, but only two were easy enough to follow for it to be worthwhile. Both were small, female or a child most likely, and both led deeper into the city of shacks. One led left, the other forward.

Mina takes her sword and scratches a "X" on the closest shack before turning left to follow that set of tracks, if they led to a dead end or other problem she could always double back and try the other direction using her mark as an indicator. She pulls her cloak around her shivering after her escapade in the forest she'd kill for a decent bed and a fire right now.

"Oh the irony.....after cursing the hot sun of the desert now I may die of cold surrounded by grotesque perversions of nature and beastly demons."

She sighs glancing around at the deserted shacks, their bare or broken windows seeming to mock her plight.

None of the shacks even had windows, as far as Mina could see. The tracks she followed, which took her quite a while in the dark even though they were fairly clear, led her in a seemingly random pattern through the shanty town. She thought she spotted movement out of the corner of her eye a couple of times, but when she looked there was nothing but shadows and rain.

After half an hour she ran into a larger road, this one paved, and the tracks disappeared onto it. She could try and explore the maze of shacks and shanties some more, or could step onto the larger road, which seemed to have slightly larger houses. The road led left or right, and there were more shanties and dirt paths across it.

She sighs, "Perhaps I'll have better luck in the less run down areas." Mina sheathes her sword and rubs her hands together breathing into them. She turns right and follows the paved road. "Maybe I should put my hunt on hold, it does nothing for me if I fight demons while my body slowly freezes..." As she walks her eyes scan for any sign of a warm dry place to rest her cold run down body willing to risk what an occupied house may mean.

The nearby buildings are likely dry inside, and she could likely find some blankets or perhaps start a fire to help her get warm. All of the houses were still single story, and there were a few shops scattered here and there along the road.

Mina decided to take what she could get heading into the nearest house. Passing up making a fire as that would attract demons and opting instead to find as many blankets as she could to rest in while she hung her clothes nearby to dry some. "They may not be warm but at least they shall be dry...." Mina made sure the front door was closed and leaned up against the opposite wall wrapped in blankets, shield and blade next to her should anything attempt to enter while she rested.

The nearest house had only three rooms; a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom. There were no doors save the one she walked in through, but at least there were a good number of warm blankets to be had. Undressing and hanging her clothes out to dry, the mercenary finds that her belly has enlarged somewhat since the encounter with the tentacle monster. She dries herself off on one blanket while spreading her clothes and armor across the wooden floor to dry while she rests.

Mina shifts around a bit to get comfortable and closes her eyes to get some rest before the inevitable birthing of the....thing.

Mina is seemingly barely asleep for ten minutes before she hears the howling of a wolf from somewhere outside. It is joined by another, and then more. She couldn't tell where exactly, but there were quite a few of the creatures out there, somewhere.

Mina winces and grumbles lightly grabbing her sword and shield forgoing messing with her armor and creeps up to the nearest window peering out the bottom corner of it seeing if the wolves are nearby or take notice of the house she's hiding within.

Mina narrows her eyes thinking to herself. "Those are not normal wolves....such a pack I could not take on my own safely and gods know what surprises they may hold...."

She ducks down out of sight and stays as silent as she can be listening for the wolves to either leave or try to make their way into the house. She's here to hunt, not be the hunted. Her hands tense holding onto her blade tighter.
