Should be noted that the dev roadmap shown there went up before his patreon got shut down.

More info regarding that, a different game named Crisis point extinction also faced getting their patreon shut down, and the reasoning there was that while adult content is fine to a certain degree, bestiality is not accepted on patreon content.
While we could spend many fine afternoons debating the semantics of alien doggos, the "good" people at patreon ultimately call the shots there.

This post from Aramusha over at F95 states:
Aramusha said:
That said, grimheim may be rectification, but the game may be different, and since patreon doesn't allow rape, grimheim will have to remove the rape setting, which is very regrettable. And it's hard to imagine how long grimheim's patreon could audit, nor is it clear that grimheim is still making games.
Grains of salt on my part here since i don't know how patreon has their TOS set up, so i can't be sure if this is factual.

Crisis point's devs opted to remove their bestiality content from the game, mentioned briefly during a livestream they did a while back. I could probably get them to quote it here, but it seems to factor in with grimhelm's patreon being shut down in some way, though i cannot 100% accurately point out what that would be minus the obvious clue being rape related.

As for timelines, here's a brief overview. Bear in mind, some speculation since i'm reverse looking up things.
- : AQE announced
- : AQE demo v0.11 released
- : Grimhelm asks for help with development via his patreon.
- : "I'm not dead yet" post. Also last known message on his wordpress.
- January 30, 2018 : version 0.12 goes up on F95. No mention of this on wordpress, by then i am unsure if his patreon was already closed or not (seems to be around June 2018). Possibly the patreon backer version.
- Current time : Patreon remains locked down. I've checked numerous times at various intervals and there is no change, so i don't know if it briefly went up and then down again.

The release of 0.12 is hopeful at least, but there's no word from him whatsoever. Even through his official page(s), and that's slightly concerning, but not cause for alarm. Mildly troubling is the fact that the roadmap can basically be fully ignored regarding public releases at least. There's also no blog entries via dlsite's blog whatsoever. One from 2015 regarding dungeon & maid but that's it. No idea if he has any other unofficial channels he'd communicate through.

That's all i got so far. Here's the f95 page for AQE. Thread discussions went pretty much parallel with the discussions here. Also some familiar faces from her that posted there as well.

Hope any of this is helpful to someone at least.

Here's another useful tidbit to go with the post i made.

The cutoff was at june 19th 2018. Almost 100% sure that's when it was shut down.

The creatures in this are alien enough that they -might- actually get a pass, it depends on which team member is reviewing his page. I'd say it's far more likely it was something really simple like NSFW content being in public view. The vast majority of patreons that get put under review end up being for this reason. Also see below, the whole reason they ban bestiality is the question of consent (animals can't consent, or at least you can't ask them if they consented).

Crisis point's devs opted to remove their bestiality content from the game, mentioned briefly during a livestream they did a while back. My understanding is that run-or-rape style mechanics are actually okay, if the "victim" has a reasonable chance to escape and/or fight back. In their policy it states anything like a "survivor story" where the victim gets to fight back or have some kind of resolution is an exception to the "no rape" rule. And thus far, the type of mechanic you usually see in action games has been given a pass. Unavoidable/inescapable rape seems to be where they draw the line. As far as I know, Crisis Point was pre-emptively changed by the dev, they were not told to remove anything specifically.

Only other thing I have to add is that Grimhelm disappearing from public view for long stretches is nothing new. His patreon still being down is likely not cause for alarm just yet, especially considering he said he would shut it down anyway.

Pretty much this. Before the guideline review hit him he was about to shut down his patreon so he could focus on finishing the game. There was even a post giving everyone a heads up that communication would be thin during this period anyway. My guess is he's still working on it and is probably a bit behind schedule.

Man it's a shame Enty is JP exclusively. If he was on Enty he would have 0 issues with all of this. I still have hope in Grimhelm tho. And hopefully he'll be able to release the game elsewhere without actually removing rape from it.

But he has one though......

anyone know how to fix the missing/flickering backgrounds if you're unlucky enough to have them (currently running v0.12b)

For the missing/flickeling backgrounds, I have it on one computer : it's a compatibility issue between UNITY (the engine of the game) and some programs. I resolved it by closing almost everything that you can with ctrl + Alt + suppr (for my part it was an audio program). I could not find back the website that listed the list of programs known to have issue with UNITY.

It will be very sad if best action H-game (at least in my opinion) will be abandoned.

Hope that's a joke, cause that's not him. He has a picture of a maid as his avatar and a hyperlink. The reason he doesn't talk is because the community is super toxic.

its understandable he might not want to talk to the community, but my major red flag is his refusal to fix his patreon page. he's obviously seen it, he'd have been notified through email and such but decides to keep it in permanent "under review". this locks downloads of the game so basically only patrons before the project died have the latest build, and when he inevitably finishes the game one would assume patreon would be where he'd drop it. Having it closed and refusing to fix it reeks of him just walking away. he's hated the idea of making an H platformer since dungeon & maid, and didn't want to make this one; i think he's moved on to other projects, like animating cereal commercials... or fortnite porn.

Did he not already say he was closing his Patreon before it got taken down in the first place? Don't think it's that bizarre to simply leave it dead if he wanted to kill it to begin with.

Yeah, I remember something similar as well. That he's got enough support to finish the project and stopped taking more money a month before Patreon "quarantined" his account. I still believe in this guy. He's one of the few that know how the crowdfunding really should work.

I understand why you would call that a red flag, but the way I remember things, Patreon never really was a serious thing for Grimhelm. This was the first instance that he had made a Patreon page, and they seemed perfectly content with the way things were going before that. So perhaps it was just not worth the time and effort to keep up with Patreon, and instead focus time and resources on creating the game itself. Or perhaps this is just hopeful thinking on my part. I just want this game to be done and released. I expect the release to be on the usual outlets that they have used for their previous games as well, so again Patreon is not necessary for that.
