In today's news...

Re: In today's news...

I think Christopher Titus has the right .

Re: In today's news...

Haha, Kusanagi, you got that from LICD. Not that that's a bad thing, I WTF'd over it too.

By the way, if not for organized religion, we would all have jet packs and be living four times as long, but because of the scientific suppression that went on for... what was it, centuries? we're... well, here.

Re: In today's news...

Yeah, got the link from LICD, but I've been following Titus ever since , which survived for 2 years on the Fox network.

Re: In today's news...

Ooooh my god. This was like an epiphany. Fox FIRED this guy? Are they insane? I watched his standup and it was complete and utter awesomesauce.

Re: In today's news...

It's because he speaks from experience - or at least he gives off that aura about him, since I don't know him personally and cannot substantiate the claim that he speaks from experience >.>
ANYWAYS.
He knows what to say and how to say it.
Him and Stephen Lynch are two people I swear I am going to see live before I die, no matter what. I didn't get a chance to see George Carlin live, and I never will now. (Hi George! *waves at floor*)(And if you don't get that joke, ) I won't let that happen again.

Re: In today's news...

Wholy shit! Aussies are in for a rough one this year!

Re: In today's news...

Apparently all the governments of the world are having a contest to see who can win for the most stupid. Here's the United States most recent entry.

I mean seriously our education is already lagging behind, why not make it worse.

Re: In today's news...

I keep hoping, that some day, the stupidity of man will stop surprising me.

I hope that one day we'll all wake up and realize what utter and complete idiots we can be, and then do our best to change that.

I hope that one day, people will start listening to proof, instead of blatantly pushing their baseless ideas at others.

I also hope, that one day, someone will invent a good looking and intelligent sex robot... So yeah...

Re: In today's news...

I've already stopped being surprised by stupidity. I wouldn't say that it's a good thing.

Re: In today's news...

Alright, I'm going off to live on my own fucking island. If there isn't one at the location I have in mind, I'LL MAKE ONE. I'm fucking sick and tired of being sick and tired of politicians making idiotic, self-centered, personal-agenda'd, so-far-left/right-it's-not-funny, history-skewing, BULLSHIT laws.

I'm serious. I'm tired of this shit. I would get into politics and do something, but because I use COMMON SENSE and have the INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE at heart, I'd never get a damned thing done, and would probably get voted out after only one term.

ALSO:
What is with people simply accepting the shit that comes out of Texas these days? Don't get me wrong, I know plenty of people in Texas, and generally don't have an issue with the people, but in terms of government... I mean, Jebus Chrispies, people, didn't we learn our lesson with Bush?

Re: In today's news...

I mean, Jebus Chrispies, people, didn't we learn our lesson with Bush?

Oh my god, Jebus makes crispies?!

ALSO

I would agree that we accept more than we should tolerate; basically we're so used to it at this point, that we don't care anymore. SO we just accept it and move on. And yea, I could EASILY get into politics, but it just wouldn't be worth it. It's not worth trying to accomplish something for the people when your opponents are out for personal gain. Government was better when the leaders had the people's interest at heart, not just power and greed.

Re: In today's news...

The problem with that statement is that if a political figure tried to fix something (Such as raising taxes to help fix USA's economy), that person will never be elected again because the voters are, by and large, complete idiots.

Re: In today's news...

And people are idiots because they've gotten too used to peace. Whatever you do, so long as you maintain even a facade of peace at home, people will eat up whatever you hand to them.
I'm not saying that something should happen, (whatever-deity-you-worship-here)-forbid, but people need to wake up and realize that what happens in other countries, and how other countries view us because of the actions of our government, WILL affect us at home.
I guarantee that 1/4 - 1/2 the people that now know that we get oil from the area and surrounding areas of the area we invaded in the name of fighting terrorism and finding WMDs, didn't know that that's where we got oil from, if they even realized we get oil from outside sources at all.
I guarantee that while everybody (okay, maybe not EVERYBODY, but most everybody) knows we're still fighting overseas, only about 1/4 of them are still following it. The rest simply said 'fuck it' after Bush got elected for that second term.

Re: In today's news...

Alright first off, when did the leaders ever have the peoples interest at heart. I must have missed that.

Sadly blaming it on Bush isn't really right since most of the countries that hate us have hated us since before he was even born. Technically our wake up call already happened. It's just that our politicians have such good spin doctors they could make most idiots believe the moon is actually a giant mouse coming to eat our planet. That's why we need to invade.

As nice as it would be to move to Bhutan or my own island, and leave the problems here for others. We're the ones that need to fix it, I suggest we start by voting every single idiot in office right now out. It won't happen, but it would be nice.

Re: In today's news...

at the end of th day all the best leaders are adulterers.

Re: In today's news...

If you want to escape war politics, move to Andorra. They're just too small to get caught up in global affairs. Most Europeans don't know the country exists. They have a defence budget of zero, and no income tax either. Their biggest national concern is avalanches and deforestation, since any single bad avalanche at the wrong time can destroy a large portion of their economy and (singular) forest. Also due to a brilliant technicality, the only country in the world to have ever "fought" two world wars simultaneously, despite not having an army.

Re: In today's news...

Andorra would be a good choice except for their location. The problem with the location is being located between Spain and France, who also take care of their foreign affairs, could easily lead to problems with wars still. Just because you have no army doesn't mean you won't be attacked.

Bhutan on the other hand is the only country in the world that is completely isolationist. You can't even visit the country, unless you are invited by a citizen. Being surrounded on four sides by the himalayas makes it a difficult country to visit anyways. They don't even have relations with any country of the world, except for possibly minor ones with india.

As I said though running and hiding isn't going to really help though.

Re: In today's news...

I'm only hiding until my "Death Star" is completed, and I can hold the world ran-- err, tell the leaders of the world to put their people first and quit worrying about their 'e-peen', or w/e the equivalent is for them.... yeah, that's the reason...

Re: In today's news...

Australia comes up surprisingly often in this thread.

The Australian government now recognises that humans come in three sexes, not two as in lesser nations.

Of course ULMF has recognised this fact for years.
