- which was averted - in Austria. Apparently, during the second half of January, one sole IS-sympathizer was going to blow something/someplace up with self-built explosives.

It's a fresh hot-topic around here, no further details are available yet. Still, it's surprising that Austria was the target of an IS-ordered attack. Austria - luckily in this case - remains in the shadow of the bigger and more dominant country that is Germany. But then I guess even in our little alpine country, fanatism can get a hold.

The situation is still developing. So there's no word on who was shot and why. But if I were a betting man, given the current political climate and patterns of behavior, I'd put money on a leftist shooting a (or whom they think is)Trump supporter.

Even if the shooter was a republican or moderate, regardless of who it was there's no doubt in my mind that the people who escalated that situation are the protesters. There is plenty of footage of them there acting belligerent and in the case of one camera man, literally just outright violent.

I didn't see any of the people who went to listen wearing masks or hurling bricks at police, so I don't see why they would even entertain the idea of shooting into the crowd. I always find it amusing to see the people who are against internet anonymity wearing masks when they make a statement in public, like "OH yes, it's okay to act like a cowardly criminal in real life, but on the internet if you cause mischief and you should get arrested REEEE." Fuck off cunts.

Apparently the shooter was arrested though, so I'm going to assume it's going to be looked at

Also in today's news (well, yesterday's) North Dakota, among other states, are introducing bills that make it legal to run people over as long as they are on certain roads.

Anyways, believe our immigration website is back up, come move to Canada! For news, we just got our version of Trump running for the Conservative (read: republican) Party. Interesting bit, he's getting free media coverage just like Trump did, as well as being a tv personality and businessman.

Considering the fact that blocking roads get's in the way of ambulances, police cruisers and fire trucks I'd say that making it legal smash through idiots deliberately blocking roads is a good disincentive to blocking roads. Aren't there already reports of people dying because their ambulance could not get to the hospital in time?

I'd say it's a reasonable response to the recent "protests."

There's more than a few vids of protesters blocking a main road, a car trying to pass through, and the protesters getting indignant and violent and attacking the car and the occupants, so the car has no choice but to plow through them.

Pretty rich that they cite it infringes on freedom of speech when the only people it would apply to are those that are already infringing on other's freedom of movement

All I can say is get out the road, dick head.

If you're going to be stupid and jump out into traffic, then you deserve to get hit. And just as Rob pointed out, if emergency vehicles need to get through and you're being a twat and blocking their path, you don't deserve pity. I applaud North Dakota for being bold and attempting to pass a bill that will do what nature demands.

:facepalm: Two things, son. First, don't whimsically compare two different political parties from two different political systems (inb4 B-BUT THEY'RE BOTH DEMOCRATIC blah blah) that function in different ways to each other. That's like saying Italy and Germany during WW2 were essentially the same fascist states. There are similarities, yes, but there are also core differences that made the concept function differently between the two.

Secondly, O'Leary isn't the "Canadian Trump" unless he had a millionaire daddy who gave him a "small loan", O'Leary has hotels, casinos, etc with his name on them, he has a questionable hairdo, has been in the public eye for a majority of his adult life, has his own successful television series, has had political ties for ages, has multiple children (whom all possess varying degrees of attractiveness), and is at least 70. I'm guessing you're going to struggle with at least most of these.

It was posted here that the story about the dad dying because protestors blocked the ambulance was apparently fake. That said, it's arguable that some people are dumb enough to get in the way of a speeding cop car while it's rushing to a scene, but stupid happens all too often lately. I'm thinking if the bill passes we'll see weekly Darwin Awards from NC.

Previously, very few bombings happened in the green(Rebel, non-kurd and non-isis) areas. Now there are several reported cases, but only a few confirmed. That said, it represents new targetting strategy

Even more, unsourced rumours I've heard and seen some pictures of(Though I can't find any articles for them) US military bases hanging up pictures of the new secretary of defense and Trump. Photoshopped to be respectively, a saintly image for the secretary, and the God-emperor of WH40k and similar figures for Trump

It's basically the US telling the UN they're out. Given that a majority of NATO countries don't even contribute, that Canada, Germany and Sweden are self-destructing, and the UN is a wholly useless and utterly incompetent drain on every economy, it's not unreasonable for the (debatable) biggest contributor/world superpower to decide they're done getting the shaft and footing the bill. I mean, if you enjoy people talking shit about you to your face and then saying "be a pal, give me some money and handouts cause we friends and shit" and threatening to stand on your front lawn and decry you if you don't, then all the more power to you. The rest of us don't.

Trump is probably the only president in that 20 year time frame that promised to ratify that bill though as an election campaign promise, so good chance it might happen finally.

Only if it can get through Congress. I don't think it's ever even made it to a president to be vetoed. There are plenty of Republicans who believe that leaving the UN would be a bad idea.

Also, I remember Trump talking about renegotiating our relationship with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, not the United Nations (though, to be fair, Trump said a LOT of things). Not sure how far he's going to go with that, either, as our new Secretary of Defense has recently reassured our NATO allies that we're not going to leave them in a lurch.
