I am pretty excited about this. Not just because of the fact that they found the planets but because of how easy (comparatively) it was to do so.

Re: In today's news...

Given enough time, orbits can normalise really close together

That is neat though

Disgusting.

China! Making the world so much better.

At the same time, why doesn't the zoo have security if it's housing endangered species?

Re: In today's news...

This is thought to be the first time in Europe a live animal living in captivity has been killed by poachers.

No one expected that there are wild animals outside that would go so far and do it. Though... it's France, so I have my general suspicions as to what kind of rapefug... ekhem, what kind of people may be responsible. But then again, I can be wrong af.

China... If not for "Only I matter in the whole world, if I have a need, I do here and now. Only me, me, me and nothing else." mentality, it would be much better.

I'm with Crawdaddy. This kind of behavior is so... abnormal that the people who run the park couldn't reasonably expect this to happen and put measures in place to stop it.

Re: In today's news...

For those interested, Dutch elections happened, though they're still counting things to see who gets how many seats.

And nothing really changed.
The only things of any real note are:
1. The Dutch labour party pretty much died after they told their entire existing voterbase to go somewhere else, and they are surprised that this voterbase actually did go somewhere else.
2. We now have a political party dedicated to Turkey and Turks who don't want to integrate. I am still unsure how they didn't get treason charges or at the very least given a one-way trip back to Turkey.
Both are considered essentially non-factors in politics, so it's not like they matter

Expectation for the next few years: Change of a few ministers and no policy changes of note

Musical pioneer Chuck Berry passed away. Granted, he was 90 but still, sad Copper. I saw him in concert once. It was a lot of fun.

The only things of any real note are: SNIP

Heard about that over here, saying the lack of political change is helping hold the EU together. And #2... Not a good sign, regardless of their power :/

According to the United Nations, , displacing Denmark. Canada is 7th and Australia is 9th, while US and UK are 14th and 19th, respectively.

Out of idle curiosity, I did a little .

Re: In today's news...

Why are the happiest places so fucking cold. I'd move to Australia if I wasn't terrified of it.
