Alright, I really, REALLY need some opinions. Please, if you're reading this, let me know, because I am decidedly clueless.

I have a few options I can go with here:
a. Keep the protag as fully male

b. Keep the protag as male transformed to female (with only a cock and balls. no pussy)

c. Make the protag male transformed to futa (with both cock and pussy) (I can't redo the first 3 h-scenes, but will take into account for future h-scenes)

d. Make the protag female transformed to futa (with both cock and pussy) (again, can't redo the first 3 h-scenes, but will take into account for future h-scenes)

And I guess I should consider:
e. Make the protag male transformed to female (with only a pussy. no cock and balls)

f. Make the protag fully female from the start.

I'm a really open guy, so I'm fine with whatever direction you guys want me to take this in. I just need a set direction. What I specifically want to avoid is to making a product that doesn't cater properly to expectations. And unfortunately, I am not nearly familiar enough with the futa kink to make those kinds of calls.

if you are going for the male option, make him as cute as luka. in other words, shota. monster femdom works best on cute boys.

if you are going for the female option, you could give her a a cock in some of the scenes. perhaps as an item that you can equip. see for example violated heroine (rin).

Tea, seriously... you don't even need to bother with the poll.

First of all, people have their own particular kinks and preferences, and no matter what you do in terms of the protagonist's gender, someone will HATE the game for it, and someone else will love the game for it. You simply cannot please everyone.

I suppose that's why you went for a futa protagonist, to try to hit a niche that's less served alongside monster girls. (as opposed to the shota protagonist, then you're competing with MGQ, Violated Hero, Demon Angel Sakura, etc.)

But the bottom line is you're better off making the game YOU want to make. Especially if this is your first h-game. (it is as far as I know) so you'll have more drive to finish it. If you personally prefer Celta as you designed him originally then go ahead and stick to your guns, BUT if you made him that way to attempt to please a particular group of people, that may be a bit misguided.

Since you said you're "not too familiar with the futa kink" that kind of suggests the latter a bit. I say just do what works for YOU, because 20 h-sceenes down the line you'll still be trying to finish this game without burning out on it.


As for my feedback on the game so far itself,

I like what you've done so far. You've made enough tweaks to the default systems to mix things up and suggest there might be some interesting strategies later own with manipulating the cooldown system. The two H sceenes so far (if the fox has one, I haven't found the trigger) are fairly creative which keeps things interesting. I overall like Celta as a protagonist because he's neither a submissive doormat or a Rance-like domineering asshole that you get when going too far in the other direction; he seems to have more believable reactions and character interactions. You rarely see h-game protagonists that are both up front about liking sex, while still being on the submissive end of things, which is a nice change.


To me, the thing that seems weak about Celta's transformation isn't the genital configuration (again, just give up on pleasing everyone with that. You simply cannot) it's that there's barely a change at all. He looks exactly the same, since he was kinda androgynous to begin with, and adding some smallish (by hentai standards anyway) boobs is still a minor change considering you can't tell with the armor anyways.

If you're going to make a transformation element important, it would make more sense if the transformation was more drastic. If he was originally more masculine looking, then a feminine transformation and his reaction to it would be more fitting. If he were female to begin with then the reaction to the sudden new anatomy and her monster girl friend's interest in it would also be more fitting. As it is... (or was, haven't replayed the demo with the 'fully male' tweak) it honestly has a kind of "Why bother?" feeling.

Futa of course would be the best because of the possibilities, but I think you should write whatever you like more.

Thank you very much for taking in my suggestion! As for the futa aspect, I can really care less if the main character is futa or not but I like my characters to be male that are getting raped by the monster girls.

Personally I strongly support having a futa main character as there are not very many futa focused games out there yet alone ones with mostergirls, which is why I got very excited when you posted about this game. I am not into male main characters at all, though that is just my preferences.

Wow, okay. So this poll has been incredibly enlightening. Basically, I screwed this up badly. Like hilariously badly. Also, there is a very clear trend going on. It's actually really interesting to see. I'm going to leave the poll open a while longer, and then share the results with you guys.

Alright, so I... think I understand better now what futa is suppose to be about. I guess my confusion comes from the fact that whenever I see futa, 95 percent of the time, it's the dick that gets all the action. Maybe I'm just seeing the wrong kind of futa, but in any case, it led me to believe that's all that's important to this kink. Live and learn.

Thanks a lot for the indepth reply. I do get what you're saying. Game making, especially RPG's is hard enough on its own, without also having to deal with a topic that you don't particularly care for. So I think it's pretty obvious that I don't love futa's in the same way that real fans of that kink do. But I do enjoy the idea a lot, at least enough to try and make it work. And I mean, it IS in demand, which no matter how you slice it, is still crucially important (nobody wants to make a labor of love that nobody else cares for, right?)

I'll keep what you said in mind though, and try to focus things in a way that hopefully won't burn me out. And you're totally right about the transformation aspect being weak. Sometimes it's hard to tell these kinds of things, even though often they're staring you right in the face.

To weigh in on that a little bit, once you get the point of splitting hairs and categorizing fetishes...

I'll agree that you might have been off base for what some people are looking for in a "Futa protagonist" but what you had going would probably be perfect for people into "Forced Feminization" which is an altogether different kink with a little overlap at times.

As the game was originally, with a male protagonist who gets a very feminine body, (But keeps the male bits with no extra 'additions' as it were) the kink you're mainly looking at there is "Forced feminization." That'll appeal heavily towards people that are into "traps," crossdressing, transformation, swapped gender roles and things of that nature, and you'll likely do better marketing it as such. If you advertised the main fetish as forced fem rather than Futanari, and added some scenes geared in that direction like the Celta's demon friend trying to talk him into wearing cute dresses and doing girly things with her, and you'd have people into that kink ALL OVER this game. The more I think about it, it was already pretty solidly written as a forced fem game. The whole "You're so much cuter now, isn't it great? Ok, I couldn't mess with that part though" with Celta's pissed but slowly getting used to it reaction is pretty much the archetypical set up for that sort of thing.


On the flipside, marketing it specifically as a "Futa" protagonist, people drawn to that label are more likely to prefer a female that grows a dick. For some people the draw of futanari is the same as the draw of lesbian porn, and they get to see sceenes that require a dick like blowjobs and such without actually needing guys involved. Some of them might not like being reminded that Celta was originally fully male.

And there's a whole spectum of middle ground and other overlapping fetishes. Often people are really goddamn particular about how they like their combination of genderbent anatomy. So that's the "unwinnable" part. You'll always lose someone there.

Okay, so here are the results of the poll. Female > Futa wins! (With Male > Futa coming in second.) What was interesting was that the proportions of votes stayed pretty consistent throughout. Around 50% of voters consistently chose Female > Futa, and 25% for Male > Futa. Also, Male > Female (w/ female parts) stayed at 0 votes for almost the whole thing, only getting one vote just today (I'm so sorry, whoever you are.)

Alright, I'll give it my best shot. Here's hoping I don't screw it up this time.

Right, so what I thought was futa, with actually 'trap/forced fem'. While I wouldn't necessarily mind continuing in that way, I did specifically start this to answer the demand for a futa protagonist. And yes, as you stated, it seems the vast majority prefer originally female futas. That's perfectly fine with me, and might even work out a little better I think.

Alright, I mulled it over for a while and I think I've come to a decision on what I should do. I'm going to take this to version 1.00, with 11 monster girls, 1 h-scene per girl, and a proper ending to the main storyline. I think that should be it for this game, at least for the time being. With that plan, it shouldn't take more than a few months to complete.

I think I might just release it for free as well. I'm getting too stressed out over whether I'm making something people will like and whether it's good enough for commercial purposes, and that's really killing me here. I'll just do this the way I feel is right, and if you guys like it, feel free to throw me a bone. If not, that's fine too.

I like very much how this game progresses I must say you capture the atmosphere and feelinga very well, probably a little too well, don't get it wrong, it exactly how it should be.
I liked how random encounters did run in fear if you are leveled/over-leveled for them, seems like the right way to do it.
I am not sure if a random encounter should block the passage after you get berries, the first time it just did run away from me and then i managed to crash while moving (the only time, no more crashes, the games running for about an hour)

and i found that the darkening of vision in the forest made the movement feel a little jumpy but that just a little annoyance.
Now more to the spoiled land:
I, i don't know what to say about the alraune, it really made me reflect on my views, it really gives much more impact that the MGQ series because more showing of the personality. Now this really make feel bad to lose for Celta and that is necessary to get more abilities. and then "You must realize how cruel is to tempt me with your presence" god dammit this is exactly why i am doing this for a payback before the game developer implement it, but i really don't know what is possible to do with her so she get what thing actually she did to Celta, probably only one option.
Anyway, keep it up, don't scale things down for now because this is also it own kind of art. The scenes are awesome.
I seen your post before the edit and the thing i may say that the plan was quite robust and that i understand why you don't want to run ahead too much.
Edit: I see you nerfed regen rate, while thats okay because you get more possibilities to flee(not that i ever flee unless very bad on hp) it feels too slow, because right now fighting weak monsters is faster route to heal that passive regeneration that allowed you just to go killer spree until it runs dry previously.

Yeesh, that bug's a bad sign. I'll try to see if I can figure out what's causing it. I'll also look at reducing the lag in the forest, and I guess remove that encounter before the berries. I'm not a fan of forced encounters either, so I don't know why I put that one in.

Thanks, I'm actually really happy to hear that. I put a lot of extra effort into her scene, since that was sort of the tipping point from lighthearted to serious. I was a little worried that it might be jarring considering the atmosphere up till then.

I don't know I feel like I really screwed up everyone's first impressions of this game, so I'm going to at least step back for a bit, and let things tide over.

Oh, I actually didn't do anything to the regen rate. It should still be the same as before.

You may leave it, i was just surprised because it actually run away the first time, it makes more like mini-boss encounter. :p (yes, probably not fair if you are on low hp/rp on that segment)

Taking ver. 0.11 level 5 280HP/520RP with 1 regen rate
  • ~5 sec: 8 hp
  • ~10 sec: 18 hp (9 hp/5 sec)
  • ~30 sec: 56 hp (9,3 hp/5 sec)
Taking ver. 0.5 level 8 370HP/544RP with 7 regen rate
  • ~5 sec: 11 hp
  • ~10 sec: 21 hp (10,5 hp/5 sec)
  • ~30 sec: 68 hp (11,3 hp/5 sec)
The regeneration is more noticeable at start with 9 hp/5 sec with 200 hp at level 1 that with 11 hp/5 sec with 370 hp at level 8.
Yes you do regenerate fully in ~150 sec, but if it easier to just start a fight to heal (i.e. after encountering a girl and left with low hp)(because that just free hp and more exp, right?) or just run to the healing crystal because it faster then it defeats the point.
I am not sure what you can do about that, i picture it more like the extra hp/stamina that allows you to go further and don't run to the healing crystal so often, also as another thing to keep in mind because if you do run out of it in unfortunate moment well you will be defeated because you cant run away.

And I found another bug with character movement... Celta just wanted to go to the right all the time (yes i tried to press the right key again and see if that will make her stop) and the game also didn't respond to the right key press (in the options)... only restarting solved that (when loading a save, the hero started to move to the right, right away).
Well that just shenanigans, maybe is just my computer.

edit2: strange, your patreon and tumblr wasnt showing for a time, all fine now.
