What the fucking fuck is wrong with these people. What the hell is with this ongoing obsession with pearl harbour. Yes I get that it was an surprise attack outside of an officially declared state of war, but it's hardly the first case of unannounced military action in history. Right up to the attack the US had been playing passive aggressive anyway, escorting and defending UK fleets and territories from the Japanese as if trying to lure them into such actions. It was a "world war" after all. You can hardly go supplying your allies with fuel, weapons and war machines whilst pretending that your not part of the war, and then be surprised when someone takes action against it. There's even controversy over claims that a declaration of war was infact delivered hours before the attack, but clerical inefficiency on US official's behalf failed to see it delivered to Washington on time. I just can't see how utterly failing to effectively defend one of your most strategically important military facilities, during a time the rest of the world was suffering losses in millions, is in any way worthy of holding such long lasting prejudice. That these people can shrug off the deaths of thousands of innocents as somehow justified by a twisted sense of ancient "revenge" is just absurd.

Whilst a futile wish, I sincerely hope this image doesn't get seen by too many Japanese, because it's frankly just embarrassing.

And sadly the sane men stay quiet, while the complete cadre of dumbasses and trolls begin thier ragerush. I find the comments from these idiots would have probably been more fitting back in the age when the Civil War was the big news... from the South... whilest kicking thier slaves across the yard... but I digress.

It's sad to see idiots so locked in trying to blame karma for age-old problems instead of focusing on foes knocking on thier own doorstep or the actual things that need to be done (such as the humanitarian efforts required to get Japan back on it's feet, for example.) and instead act like the growing steriotype that Americans are uneducated, stupid, overpatriotic imbeciles.

Re: Japan

I live south of Tokyo... so far, very little effect here apart from some train delays, rolling brown-outs and the country being in mourning. The US military has extended voluntary evacuation to all of our families -- while the radiation levels are currently fairly harmless, it's been recommended that children under six years of age be removed from the country just in case the situation worsens and the winds change.

Anyway, my sailors and I have had the honor of being a part of Operation Tomodachi ("Friend"). The roads are finally open, so their ground forces have taken over the bulk of the relief efforts and the involvement of our military has been reduced dramatically. Still, there are hundreds of thousands without homes and tens of thousands dead or missing. If you pray, please keep the people of Japan in those prayers. If you've got money, send a little to the Japanese Red Cross.

Later, folks.
