Lady Kathren sipped her tea a moment before setting the cup down. "If I may matriarch, what do you wish of me?" It had no doubt been a question on her mind for some time. After all it was Sera who payed her a visit. It must have seemed that Sera wanted more than just information. Sera could sense that Lady Kathren was still in doubt of her intent, but she didn't feel any hostile intent from her. It was clear that Sera had yet to win this noble over to her way of thinking just yet.

"Well...I'm not entirely sure if there's anything specific I'd want to ask of you really, aside from just try and support matriarch Jolynn to try and maintain peace in this lovely place. I would like to help everyone if I can. It's part of my nature as an angel, to help all of those in need. I won't try and force you to help though. Because doing that would just be wrong, and I agree with you and any of the other nobles that say it, that when Jolynn forces any of you to... pay tribute and whatnot, that it's wrong, even if it's tradition to maintain power. But that doesn't mean a rebellion is needed. I can convince her to listen, if the nobles are willing to sit down and talk. But she is carrying my children too after all, so I'd hope that none of you would try and be hostile towards her, else I would have to defend her. If enough of you have the fortitude to stick to those convictions, then words can suffice I think to bring forth a new era of peace and understanding between the matriarch and the nobility," Sera replied softly before sipping some more of her tea and sighing. "I've been outside further afield than anyone from here, and I can guarantee you that there are great dangers out there, that a divided nobility of this city, would not be able to face if forced to, no matter how strong you all are. My lover June? She came from a town that's actually not too very far from here. And there was a mage in her town that was trying to corrupt them into basically worshiping him. And had he found this place here, I assure you that he would have attempted some upheaval, whether it was desired or not. Then there's the orcs to the far north that would enslave everyone here, men and women both, and the matriarch... she'd be put through even worse enslavement for being both royalty, and a matriarch. And the noble women, the orcs would fight over who got who for breeding purposes, and that's it pretty much. The aliens would just corrupt the people here until they forgot anything but sex, or died from being drained of their energies. And the list of dangers goes on. Together, this city can stand strong. Divided though... I don't think it could withstand any invasion of any kind. And while I may be powerful, and an angel, I can't always stay here really, plus I have my own quest of sorts to figure out," she went on to say, trying to convince lady Kathren, but it was clear that she didn't intend to try and force her way of thinking on the woman, nor did she intend to attempt any subversive magics, or anything of the sort,

Lady Kathren was silent a moment, taking in what she had said. After a moment she stood and moved to a window. "Matriarch I love my city and its customs. And when all is said and done I have no issue with how the Matriarch runs our city. I believe in a firm hand to guide those to weak or foolish to lead on their own. I appreciate what you are trying to do. I however do not think the others will be so.. honest with you. I do not doubt what you say about the outsiders so I will support your goals in this. If you think it will save our city and tribe.

"It's understandable that some, or even many would distrust me, for whatever reason or another. But I thank you for appreciating what I am trying to do. You see Lady Kathren... we angels, even at the cost of our own lives, our mission... our purpose, is to protect those that can't protect themselves from evil. Even at the cost of our own lives, our nature is to protect. No one angel is the same in any aspect other than that though. We all have an inherent desire to protect the innocent. If it safeguarded this city, Lady Kathren... and there was no other way for me to do so, I am not only expected, but obligated to sacrifice myself, for the greater good in protecting it. I certainly hope it would never come to that obviously, but... you get the idea I think," Sera replied softly, standing as well and stepping up next to the older woman. "I truly do wish to help, if I can. But I also know that gaining your trust, and your help, will likely come with a price. As it will likely come with a price for all of the other nobles of the city. If there's any pointers you could give me though for the other more... prominent nobles, I'm all ears," she went on to say.
