Man, that's definitely a problem with this game, so many dead ends where you can't tell if it's unfinished or you don't know what to do yet. Or just the progression getting completely changed between demos. Well there's no helping it, guess I'll have to wait until someone else happens to find out. Thank you for the help though
It sounds to me like although you found the Old Book, you did not make it to the Mist City? Visit the library with the Old Book in your inventory. If you've already done that and made it to the Mist City, I'd need to re-evaluate where you are to tell you how to make progress.

That I haven't. I've been to the library multiple times but never thought to carry the book with me since it's not like there's anyone there to read it on Sasha's side. In retrospect it does make sense though. Yeah I hadn't been to Mist City but that explains a lot.

Haven't messed around with Sasha for a number of builds so I decided to start up with her again. Can anyone tell me where they stuck the rifle in the current version? I know in the old ones it was in the forest temple in one of the chests, but that doesn't seem to be the place anymore. And I'm clearly well beyond where its intended to be acquired since I've been getting ammo for it nonstop.

In the very short cave north of the fisherman's house, there is a hidden room. Light up the torches to better see where it is, or fumble your way there Dark Souls style by just running around hitting walls.

SO the game got an update to v3.1.1 and once again the saves aren't compatible. I love the game but having to run through from start to finish every time gets a little tiring. Anyone got some full saves for Nyx and Sasha for this version?
You can try to find the last item in OverWorld to reach 100% for Sasha, or... load a Nyx save and then go back to Sasha.

Color mod (i.e EDIT about 4 H-scenes are now colored) got posted on game's discord.

I'm not sure how the dev would react to the color mod or if the mod's creator would be happy or not with me sharing the link here. So instead here is the publically accessible discord link:

and the mod can be found in game discussion channel.

I can't tell if the game's direction with punishment is justified or not.
I get they want a game where fighting isn't the best answer, but there's ways to completely softlock your entire run if X Y or Z happens-- which does kill the game's score a bit. Saves should definitely remove ongoing negative perks, especially ones that are inevitable game-overs.

It's pretty badly balanced yeah, but most of the time I like that it's genuinely challenging. Bosses are all clusterfucks but at least it makes the struggle more fun.

Well it resets the 2 min timer anytime you go to a campfire or bed I do believe.

I sort of agree, but locking the content of the game behind an irreversable punishment that straight up causes you to go back to ground zero's is nuts.

The game was originally supposed to be heavily survival focused, which is why things like dooming yourself can just happen during a run. His vision shifted a number of times during development so issues like this were inevitable. Regardless, it's turned out pretty well considering.

Ya know, looking back over this, and the related ...uhh, 'mildly heated' conversation i was a part of earlier on in this thread, this sounds like why that happened.

A decision change during development, changed from being a survival game/escape (consumables for camps, low stam regen cap at the time, tough enemies, very easy to completely ruin a 'run') maybe even rogue-lite-ish, changed into more of a zelda-like action game (all the skills and combos, fast movement, etc) that wouldn't have any of those things. I never did come back and try out the game again, but i've kept watching the thread anyway, because it was right on the edge of enjoyable for me, and the game could change enough through development... ...considering so many games change for the worse, keeping tabs isn't too much to keep hope, lol.

I intend to give it another shot, as the game has come a long way, dunno when though.

At the end of the day I do think this game is pretty brilliant. It's very flawed but it's bold, I always love replaying it on each update.

While the thread is bumped, it seems the dev is working on a side project. He's teased images of some kind of side-scrolling adventure game or platformer, hard to tell what it's supposed to be. It looks very good but I'm not sure what to think of it taking dev-time away from this. Then again I imagine it's just a way to change things up a little to avoid burnout.

It's going to be kinda like a Metroidvania. Still going to have magic and more with ghost and stuff. MC hasn't been shown yet though.

if this game wasn't porn it would be mixed - mostly negative on steam.
