Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle could feel the shards of her beloved shifting constantly, save Storm and Water, the only two that were hanging in there for everyone's sake. "I think I am in shock, Vos, but I can't afford to sit down and relax long enough to come out of it. And if you can track that powder, then do so as soon as you can. I know that if Cos or Terra finds whoever shot her, then they'll kill them, and I think I deserve to at least get a few minutes alone with them to make them suffer as they've made me," Giselle said to the okami man, sighing softly before going on about what she'd meant by her soul. "And when we were about to bring her into the temple, this light burst from her chest, and her soul was shattered as she was bleeding out in my arms last night. She... has parts of her soul, that I know she has, because I've spoken to them all before. The only ones left in her body right now, are Storm, and Water, and they're desperately trying to keep Kylie, and our children alive. The longer it takes me to find Kylie's pieces, the less chance I'll have of saving her. There's other pieces too though, ones I haven't felt before, and that's what happened to me a minute ago. A couple of them, just made me sick ot even feel, which I can through this ring, that she had made for me, so I'd always know where she was, and how she was doing," she went on to say, explaining a bit.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

So... long story short Kylie is actually made of Crazy, not just Crazy. From now on, "Kylie is Weird" will be enough explanation... The hell did you get yourself into now wild child. he said, before muttering the last phrase to himself.

He sighed and nodded. Cover up those ears. It's night time so we can move around. But let's not make tracking you down any easier. Cosimo is pretty sure they want you dead to. Vos said, sighing and pulling a cloak and a mask from his belt, fitting them over himself. Unlike their attackers, his mask was solid white save his eyes and the cloak had to be magical because it shrouded his body far too well.

Terra had your stuff moved over there... Priestesses are afraid to touch it. he said, pointing to their belongings against the far wall.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Y-Yeah, Kylie's weird, but then, we all knew that I think, just from meeting her, heh," Giselle replied to Vos, finally smiling a bit for the first time since last night.

"Yeah, Kylie said that this place is not friendly to non humans. And I'm pretty sure that whoever the shooter works for wants me dead too, because bullets came at me too, and would have hit me had Terra not been there. Give me a couple of minutes, and I can make myself look mostly human," Giselle told Vos when he told her to hide her ears, taking the mask and cloak, and sitting down once she went over to their things, where she sat there, chanting softly the spells that Delilah and Tina had taught her, and Vos would soon see her ears reforming into human like ears, and her facial features changing to be less fey, and more human like, to make her look different, with a few freckles here and there.

When she was done, Giselle looked up to Vos and then pulled her hair around and sighed. Giselle began looking to their things and rummaging through it to grab a few potions, one of which would definitely be one to change her hair color to blonde for now, and she also grabbed a couple of her healing potions, and one of the potions of giant's strength, just in case, and putting them in a pouch on her belt after swinging the cloak around her, and putting the mask on, and she also grabbed about a few gold and silver pieces to have on hand, just in case.

"Where to, mister wolf man?" Giselle asked curiously, once she was ready to go.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

The long way round. Cosimo turned the harbor into a smoking heap. They're still fighting. He said, leading the way out of the temple. Getting a close look at his gauntlets as they walked, Giselle would see they had a blade hidden in the wrist, like Kylie's, but his had hooked claws and a far rougher palm. Specialized for hand to hand combat. The metal around the knuckles and wrist was thicker as well.

He didn't carry any other weapons. If he was an assassin he dealt purely in doing things up close. With his senses sharp as they were it made sense. Outside, the temple was a mess, there were no bodies, but no amount of tide would wash the wreckage or the blood away quickly. Vos had a pair of horses nearby. We sure as hell aren't using the water.... he said, while Giselle would see the Catastrophic Sound out in the water, repeatedly dropping full volleys of fire into the harbor, sinking ship after ship after ship. He was truly Burning the world.

I assume he'll reclaim his throne before long. Talk about a fucking mess. Cmon. he said, helping Giselle up onto the large mare before mounting himself, starting the ride through the coastal countryside towards the city proper.

Whatever the hell he used, the stink of it is faint, but it's Everywhere, I still can't figure out exactly what it is. he said over the sound of the ride, staying close to the beach, one eye on the battle in the harbor, the other straight ahead, his ears and nose working furiously to keep their path safe.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Well... seems like that could be a good thing, maybe. Gives us a lot of confusion to search in, that'll likely keep us from being too easily seen," Giselle said with a sigh.

Giselle followed Vos out and looked around, seeing the the chaos going on, and sighing softly. "I'm honestly a little amazed that he was able to cause this much damage in one night," Giselle said as she looked around, mounting the horse Vos got for her.

"Mmm, if my sister Delilah were here, she could perform a spell or two, and figure out what it is. Unfortunately though, she stayed home with the others," Giselle said as she followed Vos up the coast, also keeping a close eye on the harbor. "Also, Vos... was it the Amaranthine order that did this to Kylie? Or someone else?" Giselle asked, much of the emotion gone from her voice after what had happened last night.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Never doubt the amount of damage Cosimo can cause. There's the rest of his fleet now. Vos said, pointing at a line of ships, at least 15 rolling into the harbor behind them, all flying a skull and fiddle flag.

It's certainly possible. Those fools with the red masks definitely were. But the shooter? Describe what happened if you can. because I can't think of Any amaranthine that uses a long gun. They're too loud he answered as they rode. They'd make the harbor in perhaps a half hour if they kept this pace. And since they had to circumvent the harbor, probably an hour to get into the city proper.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"It's all gone to shit, hasn't it Vos," Giselle said as they rode along and she saw the rest of the fleet the okami man pointed out to her.

"Hmm... I was standing on the prow of the ship, and then I saw a tinkling flash. I thought it was a lighthouse or something like that, so I didn't know what it was at first. Then, I turned around and saw a hole in Kylie's chest, and she fell. I caught her, just as another shot or two came out, aimed at me, but Terra saved me with a magic shield of some sort," Giselle explained about the shooter, looking thoughtful about the whole thing. "And hmm... who uses guns like that? Do you know?" Giselle then asked Vos, looking curious about the fact they used a gun.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

I have an idea... If the shots came from that far away... And this smell. I don't want to get into it too early though. And well. Yeah, when Cosimo and Terra say they're going to war, they don't half ass it. I've never seen the pair of them so angry. He answered, taking them up into a set of foothills rather then straight towards the capitol.

Until they crested that hill, and Giselle could see nothing but City to the Horizon... The entire country, was one city. One Massive, Sprawling city... They kept moving though, heading down into a derelict district, shutters hanging, doors nailed shut. Nothing lived here, nothing breathed. Be very... very quiet here Giselle... Nothing but undead in the surrounding districts. We don't want the attention. Vos whispered, bringing the horses to a slow walk. A half hour passed in complete silence, as they wandered through what felt like a graveyard, empty houses looming, the stench of death, and death's magic heavy on the air, until Vos stopped at a large grate in the center of a crossroads, and dropped a coinpurse down. Here's hoping it's being attended tonight. he said, referring to the grate.

There was the slight sound of motion below, and then the grate swung down, a tall man in a black mask, wearing a black cloak, and black clothing. The only thing NOT black about him was a small green vial hanging around his neck filled with some kind of ichor. Good Evening Wraithling... No thieves tonight. Only Collectors. Word has passed. The Demons are barred from the sewers and dark places. So we recycle the damned. he hissed, his voice unnatural and choking. Thank you Healer. We shall leave you to your most necessary work. Keep the coin, for the collection. he said, the 'healer' bowing his head and clutching the purse to his chest, leaving them to move through a completely dry underground tunnel.

The dark healers. The black chirurgeons. Scary, Dangerous. But Devoted to her Winter Lady. Don't ask them for help lightly Giselle. he said, leading her through the tunnels, which were labyrinthian in complexity and dark as a new moon night. Giselle couldn't see fuck all until Vos shoved a mask into her hands. Putting it on, Giselle would see as the Drow did, the mask granting her infravision, Vos still only barely visible to her as a cold mark against a cold wall, likely his cloak, but they could navigate in complete darkness. This was their territory. That sank in more then anything.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Well... they love Kylie very much. I honestly wouldn't expect anything less of them really," Giselle said with a shrug.

As they moved along and Vos told her to remain quiet... Giselle nodded and slung her naginata down into her right hand, to make sure it didn't clang against anything and make any unwanted noise. When they got to where they were going, thankfully without causing any commotion along the way, Giselle followed him along. After the black clad man spoke to them, which gave Giselle the shivers, she looked to Vos.

"Then.. what are we doing here then Vos? And what was that about back there?" Giselle asked curiously as she followed the okami man down into the tunnels, grunting a bit as she put the mask he gave her on.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Recycling. Vos said, leaving it at that as he led her through the tunnels. And this is the only real safe place to be when there's a sniper around who can shoot That far accurately. That level of skill means a single minded devotion to it, or an insane talent. he said, still thinking about the How of Kylie's shooting, instead of the Who.

Even if he's laying low with the razing of the harbor, or trying to move further away... if you're a target you don't want to be out in the open if the only warning you get of a shot is a flash you might not see. he continued, leading her even further down by dropping through a large cyclical drain and heading further in. Before long they came across a single man standing at an intersection holding a club in one hand and a shuttered lantern in the other. His face was masked, but only with a cloth and his clothing seemed devoted entirely to stealth, not combat. It was all dark blue linens. Seeing their masks, he simply stepped aside, opening his lantern twice.

Another 20 minutes of heading down into the earth and Giselle was led into a large bright circular chamber. It seemed to be an underground tavern, there was a bar, and several people about, but turning to see Vos, they went back to quiet mutterings and deep drinks, the bartender an older woman, maybe in her 60's, and the bar itself a circular, easily defendible station in the chamber's heart. Welcome to the Steel Rose, Giselle. Vos said, moving for the bar.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Hmm... well, eventually, he or she will be found, no matter how good someone is, they always... always make a mistake at some point. And when they do, I'll be there to capitalize on it to pay them back for everything they've done," Giselle said to Vos as they walked through the tunnel. "But you're right, being topside is not a good idea for me right now. I need to lay low, and search for Kylie's pieces. Can I rely on your help, Vos? You said you were her friend and all, so that means that you're my friend," she went on to say, agreeing that she didn't want to be on the surface just right now, and sighing a bit.

When they reached the man with the lantern, Giselle was about to ask Vos who it was until the guy moved out of their way to let them pass. Following him further in, Giselle was actually beginning to get a little tired of the walking without any knowledge of where they were going, until they came into the bar like area, and Vos spoke up finally. "The Steel Rose? Kylie's assassin organization? She mentioned the name a couple of times in passing, to me, but she never really said anything more than what you all did," Giselle whispered back to Vos as she followed him to the bar.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

At Kylie's name, the bar Bristled, and not with compassion or good intentions. Many of the members here were older then Kylie by a good decade or more. Shoulders hunched harder, faces set in a scowl or grim mask. What? You fuckers STILL jealous? Pelor's balls. Vos muttered, tapping on the bar. Tabitha hun, who's moving? he asked the woman behind the counter, the woman flashing a smile under her rediculous widebrimmed hat and pouring Vos a glass. Everyone Sweet Vos. Everyone is moving. Who's your friend? she asked, turning her attention to Giselle. Looking right through her, her eyes milky white. She was blind.

Maybe.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle noticed the folks around seemingly... were not too thrilled to hear Kylie's name for some reason. "What's wrong with all them?" Giselle muttered to Vos quietly as they went over to the bar, slinging her naginata over her shoulder as she looked to the woman behind the bar, whose eyes looked... blind.

"I'm Giselle... I'm Kylie's fiance," Giselle told the woman softly, looking to get a drink of the strongest stuff the woman, Tabitha, had.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

To date, barring one other person, I am Kylie's ONLY friend here. Her quick rise made a lot of people jealous, her willingness to shame others into silence if they became a problem made her enemies. Then there was the reginald incident. Torture aside, Reginald's lover tried to kill her at least 6 times, and she had help. Vos said, Tabitha Hmmming and nodding. Little Bird had only young pup at the end. Kept taking the most dangerous jobs she could find. Reckless. Tabitha said, sliding a glass of SOMETHING at Giselle that was literally bubbling.

Then there's all this mess. If there's gonna be a war between Cosimo and every other pirate, Terra and well, Everyone with a penis, and both assassin's guilds, a whole lot of people are going to die and everyone here is, like they always have, going to blame her. he continued, drinking what appeared to be water.

As for the shooter... probably a hired 3rd party, not actually amaranthine. but those fuckers in the masks definitely were, so it's likely they did the hiring.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"I see. That's... unfortunate to hear," Giselle said, not liking that fact as Vos spoke.

"That's wrong to blame her for that. She gets blamed for this, because she got shot," Giselle muttered under her breath, as she took her drink and sipped at it. "So Vos, how do we find the shooter then? Could we capture one of those Amarathine's and make them talk?" Giselle then asked him curiously as she took a bigger drink.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

She gets blamed for this because she has never failed to be anything But trouble. a clear voice cut through behind Giselle, dripping with salt and vinegar.

And now we're at war. For what? Her sake? Why should we be. It's her mess, let her fix it. Trials or no there are plenty here with 20 years more experience who would make a better leader then she would as head of this branch. she continued, sitting at a table behind them and spinning a short knife on the wood, the others in the room either not acknowledging them, or, as in many cases, nodding quietly in agreement.

Still bitter that she bested you in archery, stealth, blade work, acrobatics, and in each of the 7 ordeals Cali? Vos answered smoothly, the woman, in her mid 30's and with a long scar running from her left eye to her chin marring an otherwise pretty face framed with red hair, bristling visibly.

Maybe we could just Kill your new friend here, and dump her body in the streets Vos. calm things down a little. She's a target to, Right? she answered back, grinning at Giselle and stopping the knife.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

When Giselle heard the voice speak up from nearby, she turned to look at whoever it was with a bit of an angry look on her face, that someone would speak ill of her beloved. She tried to let it go for now though, because she couldn't be making enemies just yet, not until Kylie was back to her. She listened to the exchange between Vos and... Cali apparently was her name, and when the woman made her threat, Giselle scoffed and went back to her drink, her knuckles white with anger, and easily telling Vos that she was angry.

"And why would you do that, hmm? What would that serve? Revenge? Cruelty? If you're smart, then you'll know that killing me would only serve to ensure that things last longer. And you'll also know that killing me, will piss Cosimo off, a lot," Giselle replied to the woman, glancing over at Vos as she sipped her drink some more.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

I'm sure we could think of something suitable to tell him... she started before the rest of her breath escaped into the open air along with a jet of crimson that soared almost six feet from her juggular. Everyone reaching for weapons and scrambling to look for the threat.

Wind was standing there, she'd snuck right up on all of them, and looked as she always did, like a young, mousy Kylie, and everyone froze. She was holding the oddest looking weapon that Giselle had seen to date, including Cosimo's shiny snakey wiggle sword.

It was a whip near as Giselle could tell, but the end of it was tipped with a free swinging sickle, and holes had been drilled into the black metal, causing it to hum and sing very softly whenever it moved. She walked towards her lover, between everyone else without a single show of fear or intimidation, leaving the dead woman at her table while Tabitha laughed and poured another drink Everyone's quiet now hahaha, Same as it ever was, Same as it will be. she said, the other drink still held towards Giselle before Kylie reached her and stood there. She looked a bit banged up, but otherwise she seemed fine and she stood in front of Giselle, reaching out to her now marked arm with the serpent and wincing. Her eyes said she felt deeply ashamed of this situation, and so did the ring. Vos seemed to be holding his breath and just staring, entirely unsure of what to do.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle was about to retort at Cali, when she heard her voice suddenly stop, and she glanced over her shoulder to spot the woman keeling over onto her table as her jugular had been stabbed through. Then... Giselle saw one of the first sights that actually set her heart at ease somewhat. It was Wind. Giselle was a bit saddened for Cali, that Wind had killed her, though it didn't bother her too very much, considering the woman had threatened to kill her just moments before.

Giselle watched as Wind walked over to her, not a drop of fear in her veins about her lover... because she knew Wind, and she knew that Wind loved her, possibly the most out of all of Kylie's parts. After Tabitha spoke from behind the bar, Giselle reached out and took the drink, gently set it down, and then she stood up and pulled Wind into a loving embrace, and not caring about the serpent markings on her arm that Wind reached out to touch. Giselle glanced over to Vos, then pulled him over against the two of them. "We need a private room to speak," Giselle whispered softly in his ear, before looking back to Wind with a smile and refusing to let her go.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Wind clutched Giselle tightly, that hug powerful and with all the feelings Wind couldn't give any voice to. Vos declined the hug, instead keeping an eye on the room, people shuffling about, leaving, or staying still. No one moved to collect Cali's body.

Hearing her request, Vos nodded, and led them through the group and down a western tunnel. Everywhere looked the same, it would be impossible to tell one area from another without opening doors, and soon they were standing in an empty... classroom? Vos tossed a hunk of chalk to Wind who caught it, sighing silently and poofing out her cheeks, annoyed.

Walking to the board, having to slip away from Giselle, she slashed the board with the chalk.

We're all Broken. it said, Wind leaning against the board and thunking her head on it over and over.
