Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"A temple of Pelor huh... hmm.... Weren't the okami and human that came out when I fought Hecate paladins of some sort? And Ichor, damn... why did she attack a temple like that I wonder. What if..." Giselle began saying, stopping for a few moments before she looked up to Terra. "That Okami with the sprite was there at the temple I'll bet. And he's the one that's missing too I'll bet," she then said, reaching out through the ring to search for Sola to be exact, and see if she was moving.

After she did this, Giselle would look to Terra and nod. "Aye, Cos is needed. We need to snap him out of whatever funk he's gotten himself into, because he's the only one that can command these damned pirates to do what needs to be done to keep the king's people out. If they trap me in your temple, then I can't help Kylie anymore," Giselle told Terra, looking over and blowing a kiss to Kylie, before preparing to leave whenever Terra was ready, after she'd gotten herself a new disguise as best she could with her magics.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Sola wasn't moving but she was 1: Definitely easy to find now, her presence was warm and comforting. 2: She was Definitely not alone, and 3: she was with kalt.

Another one was also there, one that Giselle was unfamiliar with, but Sola was back out into the open it seemed and the 3 shards were not around, or nearby Kalt, they were With her, that meant all three were up in the northern mountain range somewhere. Ichor was being chased by... Hecate it seemed, and Gale was also heading north, and fast, lord only knew why.

Following Terra, they'd head outside and see Cosimo's ship out in the open water, Terra starting to surf out there after him and Giselle either following along or falling behind if she changed her mind.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Whoa... okay, that's... good, and bad," Giselle thought to herself as she felt where Sola was, and found that she was with Kalt, and... another, and she felt Hecate chasing Ichor from the feel of it, while Gale was... just heading north towards Kalt and the rest. Goddess, what did it all mean, Giselle thought to herself.

Giselle decided that they needed Cosimo right now though, and so she followed Terra out to his ship, hoping that the others would be okay for now, and that she could quickly convince the man to stop moping about and get his head back in the game.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Heading for Cosimo's ship, they'd find the ship manned, and a ladder dropped for them, but it was a skeleton crew and everyone was too busy to do more then jerk a thumb towards the captain's cabin. Terra just strode forward and kicked it open, only to fly back as a gunshot sounded, knocking her onto her ass, the bullet caught in a spinning spiral of water.... barely.

Yeah... this could suck. He's got the other aimed at himself... she said, holding still, Giselle able to see Cosimo standing next to the chest he'd told her not to open on her first day on this ship. He had two pistols in his hands, one aimed at the door, the other at his own head. What. He said, looking like he'd been through hell, his eyes were still red from crying.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

When they reached the ship, Giselle climbed up behind Terra, unable to keep from eyeing up at the priestess's nude body from below. Hey, she hadn't really had sex in days, and she was a little pent up, when normally she was having sex most every day, or at least masturbating. She couldn't help herself. When they reached Cosimo's cabin, his bare minimum of a crew thumbing them towards it, Giselle sighed and followed Terra over. Giselle walked a little behind and to the side of Terra, when the priestess kicked the door open, and then suddenly flew backwards after a gunshot sounded.

"Whoa..." was all Giselle said, before Terra spoke, and Giselle peeked in around the corner of the door, to see him holding his other pistol at his head. "Cos... may I come in, please? I won't try and stop you, I just want to talk, if that's okay," Giselle asked Cosimo in a meek voice, looking very obviously scared and worried as she peeked around the corner.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

No, It's not. He said, before kicking open the chest, which howled and raged, the air seeming like it would split, as if such a thing were possible. I will not leave my daughter like this. I Refuse to Fail in This! NEVER AGAIN! he roared, flames howling into the air from the open chest before Terra yanked Giselle out of the way of the cabin and to the deck just as it exploded.

Wood, metal, mementos of his past, and kylie's all flew into the air with the blast, some flaming, most just in splinters while the ship lurched and swung, seeming to groan and cry out, like a monster was awakening. But out of that roaring inferno, as flames spiraled into the sky, came laughter. Joyous, Alive, Bloodthirsty.... I will Wade into hell soaked in Crimson and Crying Havoc! A voice cried, deeper, melodious, insidious... Violent to the absolute extreme that such a word could describe. Giselle having dipped into what it meant to be a Siren could put colors to his voice, could Hear his rage and his heartbreak in equal measure in a way the others could not, and it cried out from a pit that seemed to reach into the bowels of the earth, and passed it. I walk again the path of the Damned. And for her, I will walk it Tall. Cosimo said, stepping out of the wreckage of a cabin, that had been his home for only the gods knew how long.

His skin had turned black and his eyes pulsed a deep red, his shimmering cutlass in one hand, and flames held in the other. His fancy garb was in tatters, no shirt had survived the flames, or the explosion of wings as great leathery limbs unfurled and stretched. Atop his black face, his hair was as glossy white as Kylie's had ever been and two great white lines struck down his face across his eyes and to his jaw while two great rams horns curled from his temples, sweeping back around his head like a crown that could only be birthed in Hell. Giselle was staring up at a man turned Demon, and that Demon stared down at her.

I was given a choice... I've made it. was all he had to say, before abandoning his ship, and his crew, taking to the air and heading for the heart of Garellia.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle flinched a bit when Cos told her no, and didn't step inside the cabin just yet. When he kicked the chest open, Giselle was quite curious, and only with Terra's help did she get out of the way in time before the cabin exploded, with her and Terra on the deck of the ship. "W-What the hell?" was all Giselle could say really.

As Giselle heard the voice as the ship shook and groaned, she was quite scared to say the least. However, she could only watch in awe as the voice cried out, and thanks to being able to tap into her true siren powers, she was able to discern the differences in his voice. When he looked down at Giselle, as she looked up to behold... what could only be described as an incredibly powerful devil, or demon, one of the two, she nodded to him. "Alright then Cos... you lead, we'll follow as best we can, I g-guess," Giselle told him in a quite a soft tone before looking to Terra as he flew off.

"So... Terra... what the fuck was that? And what do we do now?" Giselle asked Terra, sitting mostly aghast at the whole thing that just happened before them.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

I'd honestly he'd have shot himself instead... Terra said softly after he'd flown off, looking terrified. Giselle.... when a Soul teeters on the edges of damnation... Sometimes they get a second chance. Not corrupt enough for hell, too evil for heaven, they are reborn and given a choice... Cosimo just gave up on his... She said, tears in her eyes.

There's no telling how long his body will hold, but his sanity? i've known him a long time.... I hope Kylie is prepared at the very least, to say goodbye to her real father, while he's still alive enough to say it himself. she finished, weeping softly on the deck of the ship, the remaining crew running around trying to deal with the damage and the unruly ship.

At this rate there was no telling how much of Kylie's past would remain intact for Giselle to save. Kalt's pain had never been more pronounced, at least part of her had always known... And that part was starting to crumble under the strain. Giselle didn't know how a shard of her lover would die, but she could feel it in her heart that it was happening with each blow great and small dealt to her memories. At the very least it seemed restrained to Kalt meanwhile Kylie herself, hidden away in the palace, trembled in awe and fear at something fast approaching and with the true fires of Hell trailing in it's wake... and deeper still within Giselle's mind, Cammy laughed.... She howled with amusement and menace.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"I... I see. And I suppose it's partly my fault, isn't it," Giselle said, hanging her head slightly before looking up again.

"Come, we need to find Ichor... now. The only way we can get Kalt to calm down so Kylie doesn't lose any more of herself, is with Idris, and Idris can't leave Kylie's body or Kylie dies, as do our children," Giselle told Terra, ignoring Cammy's voice in her mind as she felt the strain on Kylie's memories beginning to become too much for her to endure.

Giselle sought out Ichor's shard through the ring, and once she found it, she would head straight for her with Terra in tow, unless Terra wouldn't come with her. "Please Terra, I need your help with this. I can't do this alone," Giselle would tell Terra if she didn't come to follow her immediately, kneeling down next to her on her hands and knees and begging her for her help if she had to.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Terra didn't seem the type to break down, and followed after Giselle, the pair able to summon a massive wave to terrorize the harbor with as well as rocket them towards the shore while Giselle tried to get a read on Ichor and something near the center of the city exploded violently. Ichor was back at her library hideout, maybe 4 miles away to the north, and seemed to be injured.

She wouldn't be going anywhere too quickly but she was probably still incredibly dangerous to approach. Either way they had their target to move for while anarchy started to break out everywhere.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Sensing that Ichor was... oddly enough, hurt, Giselle felt worried, incredibly so. Nodding to Terra and helping her up before they set off, Giselle led the way to Ichor's position, knowing that they still had to be incredibly careful so as not to get hurt in approaching her.

"Terra... Ichor's hurt, but she'll still be incredibly dangerous. We can't destroy her, but I don't see how we can capture her without hurting her more. Unless I can entice her somehow. Hmm... maybe with knowledge or something perhaps," Giselle told Terra as they surfed towards the city where Ichor was. She could only hope that everything would work out and she'd be able to switch Ichor out with Idris, before something bad happened to Kalt, and by association, Kylie.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

I have no idea, and knowledge? I suppose Gale said this shard was driven by learning. Who knows. The obvious solution would be the archives... She has access... but only as a whole Kylie, not this fragmented jumble of personalities. I'm frankly amazed she didn't head there first. Maybe she couldn't... I'll bet you not all the shards are physically inclined. Gale cleared the entryway, And reset it. But I wonder if the more mentally inclined shards are simply less capable... Terra said, musing on the thought while they moved.

The streets were even more abandoned then before, Cosimo's mad flight towards the palace district likely drawing every guard, mercenary, and likely panicked noble too stupid to run the other way... Not even the stray sprites Giselle had spotted now and again were around. They were quiet as the grave. When they got within about 100 yards of the library, which Giselle could see was public, and 3 storied, she felt Ichor become aware of her. But she didn't run, she seemed both parts suspicious and curious, and was thinking. But she was distracted by something as well...

This piece is an odd one... Was your Fiance usually this curious? Or is this a more hidden aspect? Tidecaller asked her, as curious as she was it seemed. She would have made a tremendous priestess. Terra is right to lament the lost opportunity. Melora laments it as well you know. We could hear her curses years ago.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Hmm, maybe. I'll bet we can trick her though, maybe. She'd hate me for it, but she probably hates everyone anyway, so it doesn't really matter," Giselle replied, looking over and shrugging as they went.

When they arrived, she felt that Ichor felt their arrival, and she couldn't help but feel that something else was wrong in there, though what it was she didn't know. "I... yeah she has always been kind of curious, almost like a cat. It's probably why she gets along so well with Miu and Kagome back home. And heh, I didn't know that Melora lamented that so much. Makes me wonder why she's helping me with this to be honest, well, makes me wonder a little bit," Giselle said back to Tidecaller as she approached the doors to the library with Terra.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

When the Fatespinner weaves a fate, it branches and splinters and the other gods may peruse and inspect. The one in which Kylie became a priestess was prosperous and beautiful. But it was cut when she did not. Now... with her state in this, I can only imagine what her thread must look like, or if she even has one. Tidecaller mused as they approached the doors.

Inside was a grand foyer that opened up in a large gallery style library, a gigantic central room spiraling upwards and full of books. Ichor was waiting in the center surrounded by a massive pile of them, while she looked to have pilfered some laboratory equipment. Currently she was inspecting something under a lens and checking a book, but she started to exude a green miasma the moment they entered, Terra stepping back a little.

Interrupting me is unwissssse... Ichor hissed, a long forked tongue slipping into the air, tasting and testing while she continued to inspect what Giselle would see was a crystal of some kind.

The wound she had felt was in Ichor's shoulder, and judging from the discarded needles, thread, and bandages, likely a bullet wound, an open triage manual laying near Giselle's feet along with a bundle of failed knots.

Ssssstitching isss ssssurprisssingly difficult... Effective however. Thissss body doesss not heal asssss quickly... she continued, Terra looking to Giselle about what to do.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"I wonder what her thread looked like before we came here to Garellia," Giselle commented back to Tidecaller.

Moving into the library, Giselle cautiously looked around and spotted Ichor surrounded by a load of books in the middle of the large spiraling room in the center. Giselle stayed just outside of the miasma for now, as Ichor spoke to her and Terra. "I'm not here to interrupt you Ichor. You know who I am, I know. I have a proposition for you though Ichor. I'd like you to help us study something. In exchange, I'll mend your wounds for you," Giselle said to Ichor, bowing politely, even though she wasn't sure it would help really. "And I can talk to Gale also, about letting you know what was in the archives, as she already snuck into them," she added, trying to give further enticement.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Unlesssss it's the weapon that fired thiss... I doubt it'sss too terribly innnteressting... And well, to be honest Gissselle, we have our woundsss mended with magic ssso often It's more interessssting to ssee how it healss on it's own. There'sss a ton of information in here as well... But the offer for the Archives... Now that'sss interesssting. It's true, i can't get in there on my own and I'm certainly intrigued. She answered, continuing to spin the bullet under the lens.

Terra... what do you know about Ferokin? she asked, turning to the priestess and tossing her the crystal. It was carved and polished carefully into a tapered cylinder with spiraling grooves.

Terra meanwhile scowled. Ferokin? It's a mineral from up north. The storm priests use it as a part of their flash powder. Okami call it thunderstone. Terra said, tilting her head. Ky... Ichor, what is this... she asked, inspecting the crystal and noticing the black scorch marks along the base. Bullet. I dug it out of my ssssshoulder. For not being nearly as agile as I'm used to, this form is ssssurprissingly pliant and durable. Ssspeaking of. Gissselle. How is my body doing... she asked, grinning, flicking her forked tongue again. What happensss to usss if it diesss i wonder.... Do we all fade? Or are we free to wander?

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Well how do you know it's not overly interesting, hmm?" Giselle asked curiously, between Ichor's and Terra's exchange of words.

When Ichor looked at her though and asked how Kylie's body was doing, Giselle's shoulders slumped a bit. "It's dying, Ichor. And my guess is, that all of you fade, because without being whole, you can't exist for an overly long time. Even with incredibly powerful magics, there's no doubt in my mind that I'd lose all of the rest of Kylie in that case. Because that's just how cruel the world can really be," Giselle told Ichor, before looking back up to her with tears in her eyes. "Please Ichor, I'm asking you, no... I'm begging you. Will you please come with us and team up with Aria in Kylie, so that she... so that you, can survive. I don't care if you still love me in that form or not, or care about anyone but yourself. That sense of self preservation has to still be in there somewhere surely," she went on to say.

"If you will come with us, then I'll make sure I switch you back out with some of the others when we catch that shooter that put this bullet in you, so you can see what we'll do to him, and so you can take a look at his weapons and study them," Giselle said, to try and give Ichor as many reasons as she could to join them and go back to Kylie's body.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Ichor bristled when Giselle brought love into it, but she nodded when Giselle said she would fade. That's likely true. Much as it annoys me. It was just.... So heady, being free. Idris and the others, they can be stifling. But nothing like Kina and Kuna. Their rambunctious nature makes it impossible to study. Aria however... She's something else. Always there, always quiet and relaxed. Dependable. You are right, I don't understand Love, most emotions are beyond me, or very faded echoes. They are not part, of who I am. But a chance to study the shooter's weapons.... I have another condition, Once our body is free, I want to be freed within the archives, and if I find a way to free myself without harming the others, I want to be allowed to take it. There is more of the world I want to see then will be allowed with children and a family. If I cannot then I will simply make due. she said, turning to regard Giselle with eyes that were completely devoid of anything but the need to understand Everything. Kylie benefited from this shard in a very obvious way, if Giselle thought about the complexity of Kylie's gear.

Even freed I doubt I could be away for long periods, without Aria I am unrestrained. This is beneficial, and dangerous. Even I recognize this. But to have this freedom and have to give it away again. It makes my stomach turn at the lost opportunity. she continued, thinking aloud. Terra remained silent, looking at the bullet in her hands.

To many of us, our joining with you is an amazing and beautiful thing, the fulfillment of all our hopes and dreams. But to two of us it is stifling. We worry for the future. Kalt is terrified of many things but you most of all. And while we do not see eye to eye, she is irrational, I share her fear of being restrained. she said, curling her tongue rather then hissing as she regarded Giselle.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"I promise, Ichor. Or better yet, I'll try and find a way that more than just Idris, Aria, Gale, and Sola can come out, so that you all can from time to time. Like the four of them did back home. And that way, you can study as much as you like," Giselle replied, looking apologetic at Ichor as she knelt down to look at her at eye level. "I understand that, Ichor, losing your freedom. I nearly lost mine to those succubi, remember. I know I'm asking a lot of you. And that's why I'll do everything I can, in order to find a way for each of you to be able to be free somehow, like back home when those four split. I doubt that it could be all of you at the same time, but... well, I'll definitely see if we can have Merrick help us to figure something out, and he knows tons of things, so I'm sure he wouldn't mind indulging you from time to time with knowledge," she went on to say, looking like she was going to try and come closer to Ichor, if the shard of her beloved allowed her to, where she would gently reach out and hug her.

"I believe that every part of you, my love, is beautiful in its own way. You are Kylie's curiosity, and her knowledge. Without you, without any of you, Kylie is not complete, but I do think that it's unfair that some of you can split apart now, yet the rest can't. So I swear to you, I will find a way," Giselle told Ichor after that.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Alright. Let's get moving then... only me and Aria ever look before we leap. she muttered after a long moment, studying Giselle before standing and glaring at Terra. Not to be a pain, but if Idris is coming out, It would be wise to tell the Storm Priests that their network is about to be highjacked. she said, Terra raising an eyebrow.

She's made of Lightning. she clarified, Terra raising the other eyebrow in an "O" before catching the message and hurrying along ahead of them while Ichor stayed with Giselle. What a mess. Gale took a hit as well but she was so close. She almost took him out. She's lurking around the temple somewhere. She said, glaring around the streets as they walked.
