Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"N-No Kylie... don't, please... don't leave me," Giselle whimpered as the other stuff went on around her, with Giselle barely noticing any of it, or hearing any of it.

Giselle ripped her shirt off and was pressing it into the hole to try and desperately stop the bleeding as best she could. As the fog began to clear up a bit though, and Gestalt threw her naginata to her, Giselle grabbed it and charged at the nearest masked intruder, ducking under a swing from him and impaling him on her blade with nothing but cold fury in her eyes. She slammed the man into the deck of the ship next to Kylie and stabbed him repeatedly before hacking his head off, and was about to go at the next one before seeing the rest of the crew had made very short work of them.

Giselle immediately threw herself back down to Kylie's side now that the threat was gone, just as the wound had hardened and the lights shot into the city, like something out of a fairy tale of some sort. Giselle desperately reached out to grab them before they got away, but was forced to get back as another shot came at her. As soon as Terra told her that they had to get Kylie out of there, she answered with a nod and scooped her up, holding Kylie close and slinging her naginata over her shoulder by the strap, where she followed Terra.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle, scooping up Kylie would find a real battle breaking out around the ship as the crew turned sword and musket on the figures approaching, and it was no small amount while she and Terra ran. The bodies of the slain priestesses left behind for now as thunder boomed and clouds started to twist and boil around the towers peaks. Lightning had just started to arc down as Giselle and Terra cleared the temple door and charged into a large circular antechamber where a couple women came forward. GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY! Terra howled, the priestesses and acolytes all backing away in fear of the woman as they headed Down, not up, rushing passed a statue of Melora to a spiral staircase. This isn't right, this is all wrong... Terra muttered as they moved down, down, down into the earth.

The lights Kylie still held were growing dimmer but holding on. Kylie had stopped breathing awhile ago but those lights still burned and Giselle new it wasn't for Kylie's sake that they held on.

Terra stumbled as they reached the bottom, again a circular chamber made of black stone and coral, ushering Giselle hurriedly into a pool in it's center. Lay her down and get out of the water. she said, starting to chant.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle heard the roaring of battle all around her, but she cared not about that. The only thing she cared about, was getting Kylie to safety, and she focused on the one single goal as she ran behind Terra, keeping Kylie clutched close to her as she did. "Terra... who were those people? So that I'll know who all I'm going to have to kill," Giselle asked as they made it through the temple doors and started down the stairs after Terra shouted at the women inside to get out of their way.

Whether she got her answer or not, Giselle did as told and gently lay Kylie down into the water, and then jumped back out quickly, watching her beloved's life draining away into the water. As Terra began to chant, Giselle felt that same sense she had when her previous lovers had died before their time. The senses of dread, of fear, hate, sadness, loathing... and finally... a feeling of rage... a seething, burning rage, that made Giselle have feelings she'd never had before, a want to hurt, to maim, and to murder those that did this to her beloved, and to make them suffer as they were now making her suffer, as tears streamed down her cheeks.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

The water began to glow softly as Terra chanted, having to focus on Kylie. But Giselle's hatred didn't go unanswered as a low laugh sounded in the back of the underground chamber. The experiment goes well... Breeds... and dies... But she bred... Chesire crowed from the back, the halfling stepping forward. But this is interesting... She's not dead. That will change when I take the children. she mused, moving towards Terra and Kylie.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

As soon as she heard the laugh, Giselle whipped around and drew her naginata off her back, aiming it directly at.... Chesire? "You won't take anything from her... or from me, Chesire. I'll kill you if I have to. I'm not going through this... not again. If you want to be helpful, then help me save Kylie, if you're not going to help Kylie... then fuck off," Giselle growled with all the rage and fury of a fey that was close to losing everything, had, as she aimed her naginata at Chesire and stood between her and Kylie.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

The water in the pool answered Giselle's fury as Chesire continued to calmly move forward, surging up behind her. Do it... a voice whispered in Giselle's mind, hard, angry.

Terra was lost in her chanting, likely keeping Kylie alive. Chesire just moved onwards, with neither a care for Giselle or Terra, or the water's reaction. They were mortals, why would she care? Death and Magic were her domain even deposed as she was.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Hearing the voice in her mind, telling her to do it, Giselle tried to ignore it, because she didn't want anyone or anything telling her what to do. If she was going to do anything, it would be by her own choice, not because she followed the urging of anyone or anything. "Chesire... I said back the fuck off," Giselle said, putting herself in front of Chesire, and preparing to attack if the halfling didn't listen.

If Chesire continued towards Kylie, which Giselle could only believe that she meant to take her soul, Giselle would swing her naginata, using the flat of the blade to strike Chesire's side, and then ram the butt of it into her stomach to force her back. She didn't want to hurt her, but Giselle wasn't about to let her touch Kylie... not while Terra was doing her utmost to keep her alive.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Chesire ignored her until she struck, the water arcing with the spear and turning into ice and while a raised hand stopped the blade cold, the ice was not rebuffed, slamming the halfling into the wall of the chamber.

More interference. Always someone in the way, always bogged down by pointless emotions and Concern. SHE WAS NEVER HUMAN! SHE LIVES ONLY BECAUSE I ALLOWED IT HER LIFE IS MINE TO END AS AND WHEN I CHOOSE she screamed, black tendrils surging from the walls and towards Kylie.

Ooo, the little broken one is angry a voice purred, a shimmering wall sealing Chesire and her magics behind it. You know... I could let you have your way, or I could break you for good... But it's more fun to see the look on your face when your plans crumble. A thousand prayers and a million worshipers would say neither the Siren or the... Golem will suit, are important enough. But then again, I'm a goddess... I'll decide what takes my interest Wee Jas. I'll let things play out. No one is getting involved Melora said dangerously. I don't tolerate trash in my holy places... she finished, forcing Chesire to retreat as the wall closed in on the halfling, or be crushed. As Chesire left, sinking through the wall with a scream of rage, Melora turned. Struggle Tide Caller. Struggle, and Strive, and Fight, and Suffer. My cruelty and compassion are without limit, I give and I take, I test and I destroy. They have taken, so I will give, how you survive that gift is on you, Giselle. she said softly, a searing cold pain surging down Giselle's right arm from shoulder to wrist. A sea serpent etched in her body as she felt her connection with the waters grow and surge, ebb, and flow.

Strive... and Suffer... Child of the Sea... she said darkly, fading away entirely and leaving Giselle exhausted, with her lover in the water, and Terra falling backwards, the wound healed, but the scar deep and terrible on her chest, her chest rising and falling very slowly as Kylie breathed again.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"You're damned right I'm in your way. I love Kylie, and I'm not going to let her go, just because of what You want. What about what I want, and what she wants, hmm?" Giselle said back in a cold tone as she swung, growling as her blade was stopped, but feeling power washing over her as the ice slammed Chesire into the nearby wall.

Giselle was about to go swinging her naginata again when she heard another voice, one that was basically telling Chesire, no... Wee Jas... to fuck right off. Watching the would be goddess being forced back and out of the temple. Then, Giselle felt her legs failing her as she sank to her knees as the searing pain washed over her, as she clutched her right arm. She cried out in agony, but she didn't try and stop it, for Melora, her fey goddess, was giving her power, she could feel it, power with which to protect Kylie, to save her, at least that's how she was interpreting it anyway.

Giselle crawled over to the water and rolled into it with a splash. "T-Terra... Terra... w-what's going on?" Giselle asked, unable to really find any other words to say.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Terra was panting tiredly, Kylie was resting, comatose in the water. All I can do... is keep... the body alive... The rest... You saw it, it's out... out there. she panted, waving an arm in the vague direction of the city. There's a presence in her, but it's all tied up in the children. It can't spare anything for anything else. she gasped, looking tapped out. Giselle's ring pulsed, and Kylie was all over the place, she was all to the north towards Garellia, some farther, some shorter, 2 right here with her, but the signals were so much weaker then usual. One was in tremendous pain, others were enraged or confused, some still were filled with hatred. And there had certainly been more then 4, and she felt more then 4 now. She recognized those colors, Storm and Water were both here with her, striving to protect the children from her own failing body, but Giselle could feel at least 7 more, maybe 8, 1 was tied up with something else, the feeling far more muted like it had found somewhere to hide, and others were fading, hiding as well.

What is she Giselle... Explain. Terra said, laying in the water limply, Kylie floating there, still alive, if only barely, still breathing.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle tapped the ring's power a bit to feel for Kylie, after Terra spoke, and felt her beloved's presence... in many places... well, not many really, as it was only 7 or 8, but still, for a soul, that was a lot really. "I... honestly Terra, I don't know really. All I know, is what Chesire, no... Wee Jas, told her, and me. Before I launch into this story, I want you to tell me something. How long can you keep her alive? Do I have to, you know, collect her pieces before too long? I need to know how long I have to put my Kylie back together," Giselle said, moving over to Kylie's side, and gently caressing her cheek, as she sniffled.

Assuming she got her answers, Giselle explained and told Terra all she knew of what Kylie actually was, of what Chesire... no... Wee Jas, had explained to them. "That's all I really know to be honest Terra. But, I do remember a few times, when Kylie split into four different parts of herself. She called them Storm, Water, Wind, and Sun. Those two there, that's Storm and Water, holding her body together for now. Wind and Sun, I don't know where they're at, but I can feel them, and... other parts of Kylie too, ones I didn't know before," Giselle said when she had finished explaining what Wee Jas, and what Kylie, had told her about Kylie.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Like this? If she was left alone, a long time... It's not her I'm worried about... It's them. And those fuckers outside. Someone put a lot of effort into killing her... They're not gonna stop... Amaranthine by the masks, but that doesn't mean anything... could mean everything. And the children can't stay like this... you've got maybe a month Giselle... And if what you're describing is accurate... The longer her... um... pieces.. are apart. the harder it's gonna be to put her back together... No idea. Super complex magic isn't my thing Giselle. she muttered, looking up at the ceiling.

All I did was untangle the mess... get things flowing again... close a hole... she continued, seeming to be a bit in shock. Her two acolytes had been killed on that ship without a chance, Kylie, her friend was laying in a pool of water on life support. Giselle couldn't be described as any better... but her lover was alive. the situation was fucked but she was alive. If only barely.

Wait for Cosimo and the temple to clean up.... Don't go outside...

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"I... I see. One month... that should be enough time... I hope. I knew we shouldn't have come to this accursed land. When I met you on the ship, I was feeling less tense about it, but I still felt worried somewhat. I brushed it aside as just me worrying too much about this trip. I should have spoken up sooner, and this might not have happened," Giselle said after a few moments.

With that, Giselle sat there in the water, cradling Kylie, until Cosimo came in, refusing to move until that time, and keeping her naginata close to her. When Cosimo finally came in, Giselle would stand and look to him. "I need to get out into the city as soon as possible. And I need your help to find the missing pieces of Kylie's soul if we want to have any hope of saving her, Cos," Giselle told him when she saw him.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

It was an hour before Cosimo stumbled down the stairs, an army of priestesses behind him. Listening, he waved a hand and moved to Kylie, dropping to his knees in the water and stroking her hair. Don't want to think about everything wrong with that sentence.... I'm going to kill the all... he whispered. He as covered in minor injuries, cuts, scrapes. His uniform was singed.

Stay with Terra.... gonna kill them all. he rumbled, stumbling back to his feet and heading back for the stairs... No one gets out alive... were his parting words as he moved back up. Giselle could hear cannon fire in the distance.

Terra stirred. He means every word... It's not safe to go near the harbor... she said, sitting up tiredly and looking down at Kylie... You're in rough shape little bird... Hold tight. The rest of you, get out there and back up Cosimo. They killed Lyndsey and Carra... They started a war... Finish it. she said to the others quietly, the priestesses one and all nodding and moving back upstairs.

Rest Giselle... You're saving no one in that shape. Your currents are all twisted. That Mark is twisted. Your heart is twisted. Rest and decide on a plan before you act. You know nothing about the city and everyone else is too busy to simply recklessly charge forward. she muttered, leaving Giselle alone with Kylie only to return 10 minutes later with a bedroll, fresh clothes not covered in Kylie's blood, and Gestalt, who was limping badly and obviously hurt. The old weaponsmaster collapsed shortly after, falling into unconsciousness as Terra started the process of patching him back together.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Cos... one thing before you go, please. If... if you find the one that shot her, don't kill him, or her... bring them to me, so that I can make them hurt, as they've made me... not... made us, hurt," Giselle said as Cosimo was leaving, finally feeling the weariness of what had happened washing over her, and leaving her too exhausted to go out.

Nodding to Terra when she told her to rest first, Giselle sat back in the water, and simply held onto Kylie. "If Cos doesn't find the one that did this to her, and you or your people do, please, bring them to me so I can do what needs to be done," Giselle told Terra as she agreed to rest for now, finally calming down enough to think to herself that she wouldn't help Kylie at all if she rushed out blindly.

Giselle helped patch Gestalt up, singing a gentle calming tune to help soothe him and his pain, as Terra did whatever she needed to in order to help him. Once Gestalt was stabilized, Giselle moved over next to the pool with her bedroll, and laid down after changing, wanting to remain as close to Kylie as she possibly could, and refusing to sleep anywhere else for now.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Gestalt relaxed as Giselle began to sing and when she laid down nearby Kylie and closed her eyes, she could feel them all. All the little pieces of her lover scattered to the wind. There wasn't any way her assailant hadn't seen that happen as well. How many miles had that shot been from... Who, and Why. Questions that needed answering.

But sleep overtook her quickly and true to her promise, Melora kept Everyone out. There were not gods or goddesses, angels or devils or demons to trouble her dreams. She was alone in a great and terrible storm in the sea, on an island, staring out. Just like the Sirens of old, singing for no one but herself, or perhaps to coax the great serpent from the water to dance.

When she woke up again, she was alone in the chamber with her lover. Kylie was floating in the water still, hadn't moved an inch, eyes closed, breathing slowly. She'd never looked so frail and well... human, before to the siren's eyes. Never seemed so fragile. Her hair brown, her skin pale, all those little scars and tattoos. Her life and those of their children hung by the barest of threads. With all her powerful allies, with everything at her disposal, with all the skill and strength she'd had.... Someone had simply reached out and struck her down, none of it had mattered in the end. But unlike the other times in Giselle's past, her lover was still alive, even if just barely, she was still there...

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Closing her eyes and feeling out, Giselle felt Kylie's shards all around the city. Giselle didn't know why or who had made the shot on Kylie, but she knew that she was going to make sure that they paid in the end. As Giselle lay there, thinking about what she was going to do to the one or ones that had done this, sleep finally overtook her. It was a sleep filled with turmoil and sadness, and... loneliness, which was not something that she liked one bit.

When Giselle finally woke back up, she saw that she was alone in the pool room with Kylie, and she imagined that Terra had something to do with that most likely. Giselle slipped into the water again, slipping her clothes off before doing so, where she sat by Kylie's side for a couple of minutes, gently petting her head and holding one of her beloved's hands. Giselle began to to Kylie, one that she filled with her fey magics to try and help soothe Kylie and help Storm and Water hold together and bolster the two of them, and letting them know that she was there, and that she was going to save them.

When Giselle finished her short, but beautiful song, she kissed Kylie on the lips, then she slid down and kissed her belly, where their children were hanging on by the sheer refusal to give up on Kylie's part. "I love you Kylie... and I swear, even if it kills me Kylie, I will save you, and our children. I will do anything I have to, to bring you, and them, back to us," Giselle whispered in Kylie's ear, before she got up and out of the water, and quickly dried off, using and left the chamber to find Terra, and or Cosimo.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Kylie didn't stir when Giselle sang, but she could feel the burden Water and Storm were under shift, and lighten ever so slightly. Or maybe her mind only hoped that was the case.

Heading up the stairs, she wouldn't find Terra or Cosimo, but instead an Okami was standing there, one ear a bit scarred, fur a blinding white with a pair of red eyes. He was wearing leather armor and wore gauntlets like Kylie's. He regarded Giselle and inhaled deeply.

How is she? he asked plainly. The urge to lash out was strong. But she doubted this man would react to harsh words, he seemed far too calm, level. Balanced. It was hard to read him, not even his tail gave him away as he stood there, waiting for news.

Giselle was feeling something strange in the ring as well. All the pieces were moving. But two were moving Fast, both dark, both whistling and vicious, Strong. And neither of them were happy. It would be something to say Any of them were happy. Sun was out there somewhere and even She wasn't happy. But these two.... It was an emotion they carried that sent a chill down her spine. Malice. One was Wind, had to be. But the other was something new, or hidden that Kylie had either never shown her, or shown very very rarely. The urge to kill was so prevalent that Giselle had to break the connection or risk flying into a rage herself. Two shadows were stalking around the city. Wind would be an accomplished and relentless killer. But the other.... The other seemed like it only existed to devour, to feast, to eat, to destroy absolutely as it sated it's hunger.

Another tugged at her mind. Venomous, it was envious, not confused or enraged, but jealous, What secrets had brought Kylie down? It hungered to know, and it was searching... It spoke of poison, pain, and a complete lack of empathy. It was unconcerned with the others, with the children, or even it's own situation. it hungered only for the answers to it's questions, and it's emotions dripped like a toxin, hissing and smoking... Dark things had been unleashed upon the city... She had even less time then she figured. But the one that scared her most, what terrified her, shook Giselle to her core, was a shard of her soul so cold, so devoid of emotion, that she could only barely track it, and when it struck her, when she finally managed to focus on it, triggered by the Okami's question of her well being, Giselle felt only Hatred. Refined, Terrible, Beautiful, Loathing. There was rage, and wrath, and fury, but this... this was cold, this was an unfeeling beast. It would not reason, it would not ask or inquire. Anything within it's reach would die, it was anathema to life itself, the cold at the end of all things, the absolute lack of warmth, heat.

It tore at her mind for making contact with it, flashes of being strapped down, of feeling a burning blade torn through her muscles, of looking up into the leering face of a man as much monster as this thing. And it cut her, again, and again, and again. No questions, no interrogation, only Pain. That was the promise that face carried for this memory. This was the face that had created this piece of Kylie, Your Brother is Dead Weakling... No one is coming...

Those words, from that face, as another pass of the blade tore through her flesh, struck Giselle physically, sickened her, broke her for several long moments. The horrors of Kylie's past had been set free along with those parts Giselle knew. She already knew what had given birth to the hungering thing. She remembered the monster from Kylie's nightmares and her drawings...

H... He... HEY! she had collapsed, the Okami had caught her and was shaking her gently, God damnit this is not the time! Come back! Is Kylie Alive! TELL ME IF MY FRIEND STILL LIVES! His final words were a howl and broke the visions holding Giselle captive, bringing her back to reality while his carefully molded and balanced mask cracked and Giselle saw the worry there.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle thought, though she was probably wrong, that her song had lifted Storm's and Water's spirits a little at least, if nothing else, though she really hoped it helped ease their burdens a bit. Scooping her naginata up as she left the room, and slinging it over her shoulder, Giselle sighed softly as she searched for Terra and or Cosimo. When she found neither of them, and instead found an okami man standing there, Giselle stopped a few feet short of him, one hand prepared to sling her naginata out at him if she had to. Thankfully though, that didn't seem to be necessary, as he spoke and asked how Kylie was doing.

Giselle was about to reply, but didn't just yet, and merely looking up at him as she felt the shards of Kylie's soul drifting around, in some cases quite fast, and in a couple of cases, they felt quite angry.

The one full of malice had to be Wind, likely looking for whoever had done this to Kylie. But the other... it was something entirely different, something that Giselle didn't know, nor could even fathom about Kylie. Breaking her link for now, else fearing she'd fly into a rage herself, Giselle sighed softly before looking back up to the okami man. Then she felt the coldest, darkest, most terrible part that there was, and she nearly felt her legs give out in the process and had to steady herself again before she did fall down. She didn't know what that shard was, or why it existed, but it did... and Giselle knew that it would be by far the hardest of them all to do anything to.

In the end, Giselle did end up collapsing, as she felt what this shard had come from... Reggie's death. As she was shook by the okami while he shouted at her, Giselle almost punched him square in the mouth, but she stopped herself just before she did so. "D-Don't yell at me, and I'll tell you. Kylie is a lot more to me than just a friend, and she's carrying my children, so if you'll be so kind as to not yell at me, I'd appreciate it," Giselle said softly, calming down now herself. "She... she's not doing too good, but better than I'd feared at least. She's not going to last for too long though. I need to find the pieces of her soul that were sent flying out into the city when that... fucking piece of shit shot her. Who are you though, first?" she went on to say, closing her eyes and sighing again, trying to keep from feeling out those more evil and cold parts of Kylie, but keeping her mind reaching out for them to keep tabs on their whereabouts.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

More about Kylie then Giselle had ever truly wanted to know in such detail lingered on the edges of her senses as the ring's enchantment became overtaxed and refused to shut off. She would feel the pieces of her lover constantly, moving, shifting, hating, killing...

The Okami looked relieved when Giselle came back to the real world and didn't look apologetic in the slightest. I know all that... Just... lost you there for a moment. Thought you'd gone into shock...I'm Vos. And we have no idea who shot her. I came down earlier, there's a scent of powder, but it's not normal gunpowder. I think I can track it down. I was Kylie's only real friend in the order... everyone else... jealous, or afraid... or both. And what do you mean, Pieces of her soul... he asked, raising an eyebrow.
