Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)
Review on DLSite is up (although you need to click the review icon at the top since it doesn't show at the bottom for some reason), and completed the game!
Random stats: It took me around 4 hours, and I estimate roughly 75 deaths or so. I played on Normal, and while I never did any direct level grinding, I estimate that I gained roughly 3 levels total by going back to the save point when I was doing poorly enough and knew I had no ways to make it to the next save point with my current HP. I finished at level 15, and my stats were spread evenly between Attack and Defense, with around 8 points in Charge and no points in Con except for the bonus pickups. The highest amount of deaths definitively came from the Succubus boss, with the area near the end on the way to the laser with the two spinning wheels, the two fire wheels, the tentacle pits and the lightning in the middle getting second place.
I absolutely adored my playthrough of the game, well worth buying. The only time I got a bit frustrated is at the area I mentionned earlier: Beside that, every other spot I was just "Oh well, got to try again"!
There's some enemy types I didn't lose to (go me!) so I can't say how bad it goes, but I did lose to the demon guys once... All I can say from that CG is "Holy ****, that must hurt"!
Except for the starting area, the music is absolutely wonderful. I have to say that the music before the first boss is still my favorite (It's on my top 10 songs ever), but all the rest were pretty darn good too.
In the weapon selection screen, you can actually select a 5th slot under the 4 weapons. I kept expecting an hidden weapon or something, but I haven't found anything unfortunately. I did like the fact that there was an happy ending though!
I have two things that did disapoint me a bit:
1) It felt a bit cheap that the last boss was in an "increased gravity area" that we have just seen. During the game, you polish your skills and learn how to deal with harder and harder challenge, but the last boss has different physics mechanism from the rest of the game.
2) We never get to see a CG of the heroine in her clothes. I hoped to see a CG of her in her battle outfit, either in a regular pose or in her natural state: Kicking ass. Nothing major of course, just was curious of how the heroine looked generally
