Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Shadows who said shadows, where? shadows are neat. I can make shadow puppets of doom want to see. Er uh sorry temporary loss of sanity there.

So uh shit I completely forgot what I was going to ask, I really hate when I do that. If I remember I'll ask, damn short term memory.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

No Ronny, you cannot have a pony ;)

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Sleepy Copper is sleepy. I'll catch you guys sometime tomorrow, either before or after Arkham insanity (or both.)

And Ronny...was it something about clans or disciplines? Or combat? That was the conversation train before you forgot what you were gonna ask.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Hmm... perhaps just have her go off on her own for a bit? Decides to explore on her own whom she is?

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Yeah actually it was Copper, though not really combat more like any situation where two characters were opposed. I was just wondering how you guy's were deciding it since the book says they use rock, paper, scissors. Since were not actually LARPing though, I don't imagine you're doing that.

Sorry Rule, but I don't actually know how to play poker very well. We always played spades or hearts. Besides do you want to play poker with someone who can read people like books.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

That's really up to Shrike to decide at the moment, but I'm sure we'll hash things through when it comes up. For the most part, Clara's intro would be a good preview of that, I'm thinking. It's just...what makes sense, though I'm sure there's going to be some supersecret storyteller factors (like, y'know, not beheading guys in one hit because they're pertinent to plot or Mist getting away to antagonize people later.) Granted, your abilities will likely come into play (like I'm sure Claire would have an easier time hitting someone than, say, Rosary would). It'll likely be an instance of declaring your action (I'm going to punch Mist in the nose!) and then Shrike comparing your stats with hers to see how readily you can connect.

And who knows, maybe it'll be a learning experience for both the guys. Buddy up! (*hasn't read the game thread yet.)

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

What year does this take place again? I'm assuming in the near future or the present.

Also, is it okay for Claire to vanish for a bit? Run off on her own?

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Pretty much present day, though the actual date isn't specified, so it's easier to place with the moment, if that makes any sense.

Have her run off if you feel you need to, there might be some repercussions, but I'll pretty much wave them off IC because you have a good OOC reason ;)

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Okay, I'll do it after some folks respond... thank you Shrike!

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

No problem, I aim to please!

Or kill, I never can remember which...

*scratches head, then wanders off*

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Suppose I'll figure out which one when I get back... if its to kill I hope you miss. No offence.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

None taken, I hope I miss too. Don't get all weirded-out on me, but I like having you around ;)

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Awesomes :p

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

I actually hold no ill will to the PPCLI, I'm just roleplaying. For some reason I feel so bad saying what I did.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

I don't get it :/

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

I don't really get it either but it still sounds pretty derogatory. Of course I'm not Canadian so it might not be.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Well, I can sorta pick up an against-cowboys vibe from it, but what do you mean by the italian bit? And what do you think it's derogatory towards?

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Hmmm...

"Pud-pulling cowboy learning Italian," as derogatory reference to a member of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry...

Well, they did fight mainly in the Italian campaign during WWII, so there is that. And they're based in the Prairies, so the cowboy bit fits too. Found a reference to "pud" being slang for "penis", so there's that. I guess somebody really creative came up with the initialism, and put all the insults together to fit it.

Ya know, now that I know all the bits, it actually is pretty creative.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Huh, so that's what PPCLI means, that helps. And I think 'pud' is tobacco chew, but idon't know why...
