I get that some people like retro stuff but I wish that the developer didn't include all the oversights of classic games (porn/nonporn).
How did Shovel Knight fare regarding this? I know its development team intentionally went with the retro style as a callback to old platformer days but I heard they also went the extra mile to include more modern designs, gameplay and stage layout wise.

Depend on the developer.
Marimo generally include a all clear save for all his game.

I wouldn't really know since I don't do console gaming/mainstream PC games nowadays. I mean technically I can "try" out the game but my time is sort of limited. Based on people's reviews and the accolades gained by the game, seems successful. I just don't know what aspects they include from non-retro games as I''ll never try it out.

I mean going back to the CG unlock example, the developer's first game rewarded players with CGs and sprite animations (engaging sexual activities with opponents and gaining coins to unlock CGs). This game though I have to lose all lives to the stage or boss to gain access to the CGs. That's not really something I'm looking forward to as a player.

Some people mentioned about the annoying knock backs and how the dev removed it but that's sort of in the grey line as to whether that should be included in such a retro-style game.

Sorry for the necro. But does the dev plan on doing english version? I remember the succubus having one.

Well apparently there's been an English version since August 9th.



I don't recall them pointing it out on their blog though.

Anyway, seems like there's a new game on the way. There's only one screenshot for now though.

Seems to be the Succubus from the first game.

Should make a new thread when there's more info.
