ACT [Mille feuille] 極煌戦姫ミストルティア ベルトスクロールアクション / BlazingAngel Mistletear (RJ171858)

So short review, spoiler included:

I forgot how much I love Mistletear's design.

I always hate the mission where there's another bar on your head, it tend to drain so fast that makes the stage not enjoyable, not to mention this time you need to check each room first :/

Some of the animation was reused (the slime and 1st bost grab attack was reused from EC, things like that), but it's fine... I think?

(my favorite grab animation was the Eel boss btw, a grappler move + Electric shock is just so nice).

Also, I got a horrible frame drop during the 2nd fight of the clown boss (where the brat appeared again after the clown was defeated, idk why.

I hate the bike action portion with passion.

I wish that we will go as a duo instead of them joining together, altho the armor looks nice.

The AI seems to be more cheap shot in here than BBEC, like, they tend to stay juuust outside of your range before swooping in (somehow they're invulnerable doing this) and getting a hit on you. I hate that.

Is there any way to unlock the H animation from the shop?

(Or I'll just wait for full save with H animation unlocked :p )

There should be if they used the same system from previous games, but you have to unlock it first.

Basically, you can use the points you earn by playing the levels to unlock modifiers for the game, making yourself more powerful and the enemies weaker, or making yourself weaker and the enemies more powerful for the true heroine overwhelmed by enemies experience.

One of those upgrades is the, "You can now spend these points to unlock scenes and CG directly with points" upgrade. Until you buy that, they only unlock from you experiencing them. After you buy that, you can spend your points there to save yourself time, though you probably also want to strike a balance with buying yourself normal upgrades to make the point grind easier.

And assuming the points get earned the same way, they get earned at the end of the level. So you can load a save from right before a boss, beat the boss, and get the full levels worth of points without having to play the whole level at once. Good for grinding, especially the final boss, since it's often worth a lot more points than any other level completion.

Ignoring public warnings. One week ban.

For the illiterate: The points unlock option in 調整モード is the same one it's always been since the first Mistletear game. 回想シーンのポイントによる解放 on page 2 on the bottom left. The one next to it gives precise hints on how to unlock each scene since the game has a branching plot, but it's not going to matter much since virtually everyone on this forum can't read the hints without machine help.

Stage select option lets players start a session from the final stage, especially for those who think saving and loading from the final boss dialog doesn't give enough for a single session. That's the ステージセレクト option worth 1000 points to unlock.

Buying a defeat scene or ending is always worth 30 points for the package of 4 variations. Basically saving players a few mouse clicks compared to unlocking them manually if one or more scenes was unlocked through gameplay. Players still need to actually watch the scenes for them to show up in the gallery.

Before buying the scenes, I'd advise the following QoL upgrades which make the game slightly easier without massively breaking the default difficulty level:
敵の落とすアイテムを必ず画面内に発生させる: Item drops guaranteed to stay within screen if they were dropped out of bounds.
シングルプレイモードでキャラの交代を可能に:Character swapping enabled even on stages when the sisters are working separately from each other.
ジェノサイドファントム発動時無敵: Back from the first game, enabling this means the older sister's multi-hit rush special makes her invincible to enemy attack during its duration.

Absolutely crushing a stage (high-hit combos, virtually full HP and MP bars) grants a larger points bonus than normal, even for the first stage. A reward for those who get good at the gameplay as it drastically reduces the number of runs required to unlock everything. There's also a mission which requires players to clear the game without losing a single life, which if I remember from the first game unlocks a special non-H ending CG if all of the missions objectives are completed.
