On that note, it sounds like the recent "Primeval Planet: Angimanation" is the polar opposite while still being a similar style of gameplay.

Hmm, taking part at the discussion, while I probably keep mermaiden in my hdd cos the H scenes are juicy, I don't think I'll play the boss again unless I'm feeling like blasting them with the minigun.

However, if the gallery is going to be implemented, it is one of the game that I'll play from the start till the end to unlock near everything.
Unlike those cg galleries disguised as games where I just sigh, look for the translation if it's not translated yet and just download the save game.

Game Of Triggers <- More of a VN but still has some good stuff in it.

While I agree, anyone can tell that the balance is completely off. You can literally run into every single enemy in a level, mash out in a millisecond, and still clear that level at basically full health. Not only is the sex optional, but the entirety of the gameplay is optional too. Cant die outside of bosses or running into gunfire on purpose, no consequences to getting grappled unless you wait out the initial bar for a good 5 seconds, so no status effects or sex either.

In other words, this really isnt even a game so much as a gallery viewer, and that's honestly the only issue I have with it right now. The scenes, art, poses, statuses, sound effects, transitions etc are all extremely well done, its just lacking a the "game" portion to accompany the rest. You could compare it to Night of Revenge where the sex is equally optional, but it is not lacking for actual gameplay. Some people don't mind that (which is fine) and I wont pretend I didnt enjoy the gallery myself, but damn If i aint a little dissappointed that more effort wasnt put into balancing that aspect out a bit more

Just a warning that the majority there (including my own) are built in a system called RAGS, which is a literal nightmare.
