The funny symbols on the ground in the castle are teleporters that will warp you around to different points in the castle. One of them will lead you to a hallway where you will find a NPC in purple, who (As far as I can tell) says she has dropped an important item. That item can be found by backtracking towards the teleporter and constantly pressing the action button to search the floor. there is a post earlier in this thread with pretty much the exact position of the item. Once you find this, you enter a fight, and you get the item to open all the doors to the castle.

...is there some trick to to the gargoyle-like subboss of the tower ?
It's immune to most (all ?) statuses and lvl 30 basics don't damage it fast enough.
The upgrades don't level fast enough naturally. I'd expect this isn't that badly written that you actually need to resort to that hack in recollection room.

I have to agree. Almost all H-game devs have the sounds insanely loud, and sound options arent common.
Also problems with sound balance(too loud BGM, or maybe insanely louds beeps when navigating menu, etc...) are annyingly common.
I mute all h-games instantly when starting them up, and set them to 1/100 in volume mixer.
Do japanese all have some hearing problems or do they all have very silent headsets/speakers?

Actually, I suspect it's not a Japanese problem, more a "lazy amateur dev facing a non-trivial technical problem".
You've got to remember that while some of the sounds (in the ruby makers' case) come from RTP, other do not.
You can assign a volume at which any given sound is played, but it's a bit tedious if you're lazy.
While there *is* a relatively straightforward way to normalize a set of mp3 files without reencoding, it's not the case for wav files.
Ogg files might have an option similar to mp3, but I'm not sure about it.
Reencoding should be avoided whenever possible, but doing this by file case requires keeping track of which file needs which volume value.
Also, in ruby makers, volume menu wasn't a part of the standard script set.
Still, I can't recall a title that was as bad at it as this one.
Anyway, any hints on that subboss ?

i believe i toxic heal stalled that one regardless because the damage ticks before he recovers from it

...you're likely talking about another subboss, the one in the tower is immune to most (all ?) statuses - poison included.
I can damage it, just not nearly fast enough.

Thanks for it, if i use a save from the first version (from really early in the game) will it cause problems?
the only one i know that is immune is the first mon brought out by the final boss of the game. that one you have to dps down. also if u are already at final boss, you probably rushed the game for being at lv 30. the game basically requires you to grind and level up like in classic pokemon, cos otherwise you won't have more powerful attacks to use.
edit : i just realised you probably mean ghost town tower, of which you have to heal with items and dps down, preferably go back and break some rocks to unlock the 2nd tier upgrades. The water spirit from the boat is a tanky mon that learns recover so that could be your go to if u don't mind slower gameplay.
