ACT Abandoned [NONKI] Sildia the Milk Knight


If NONKI really is such a delicate little flower, that's kinda grating, because I think a developer unable to accept at least constructive criticism is hardly worth supporting if he starts threatening to throw at the slightest incovnenience. He doesn't need to take everyone's shit, but even in such a niché department like hentai games, it's important to have enough skin to not take criticism personally and appreciate the feedback, otherwise, game development just won't be your thing.
That said, I'm looking forward to pretty much anything NONKI makes, hentai or not. His spritework is great, and his games are the kind of chaotic fun that reminds me of the good ol' arcade days of Shadows over Mystara!
 
there is not that many hentai action games (majority are VNs and RPG makers), and among those small number of action games, majority are plagued with clunky controls and frustating gameplay. if nonki quits, it's a major lose to this genre.

and check the screenshot again, what that battel guy said it's not constructive criticism at all, it's more like a small insult. And people repeat it over and over again, so it's normal if he get annoyed eventually

Eh I can kinda get where he's coming from, if you want to take pride in your work and most of the feedback is just drooling retards demanding more boobies it must be pretty annoying. Granted "threatening" to end your project over one such comment doesn't exactly make you look good in that situation.
 
Man I was finally glad Nonki was back and then this hypersensitive attitude of his comes up. Let's just hope it was a lost in translation kind of deal.

I think what nonki did is normal and not hypersensitive. Imagine this situation:
1. There is a forum for a certain game
2. Someone make a thread asking how do you change the game's language. People answered, problem solved.
3. 2 days later, another member asking the same question, people answered, problem solved.
4. a few hours later, another member asking the same question again, the thread described in number 3 is still appear in the front page which mean you don't even have to do any searching or click the 2nd page to find your answer.

repeat no 2-4 several times and the nice people who keep answering the same question over and over again will eventually lose their mind (even though it's just a normal question and not even an insult).
 
Afaik his problem was rather that his passion project was not being appreciated by the people who just want the porn, and less that he had the same questions asked over and over.
But even then, threatening to cancel your project over annoying comments just projects insecurity in his work, regardless of whether his annoyance is understandable or not
 
From my own personal experience, Japanese can be very sensitive to whatever people say. It's probably just their culture there and upbringing of keeping comments to themselves.
Hell they can get pissed off over minor stuff or even a single "what the fuck" thinking you are actually insulting them when in fact it's just an expression of being surprise. Can't talk to them like we speak casually with profanities for lol.
 
True, me and my friends say "sup cunt" to each other when we talk lol, that shit wouldn't fly in japan land :p
 
Could be that the web-browser translation made it sound more harsh... but I kinda doubt it.

Nonki was either probably in a lot of stress when he made that comment or finally got annoyed with people urging him halt work from Axel but that was just one youtube comment.

Either way, he could have just ignored the comment. Really though, I don't think people should be posting in social media or public forums if you can't take the heat, criticism, or in this case a tongue-in-cheek comment. I'm sure other game developers in this forum have taken harsher and unreasonable comments or criticism and have easily shrugged it off.
 
here i was hoping some good news about the game was coming instead we got a spammer spamming about medical gloves in russian

It's funny cause Nonki means relaxed in Japanese.
 
by the looks of it he's moved past making H games. googling Axel city 2, its his current project he would much rather be working on. looks good.
im a fighting game man, i'll give it a spin. well, would. looks like its arcade only. the goal being to revive the arcade scene

Eh, what a waste of talent from one of the few H-game artists that does muscled/chubby fem protags. He's also hidden his twitter, so he went even further than cancelling an entire title.
Some people never change, even if the entire world tells them their behaviour is ridiculous.

I predict this arcade only nonsense won't go anywhere. Yes his titles are solid gameplay-wise, but the quality H content for various character bodytypes was what made them stand out.
Without that? It's not anything spectacular and it'll fade into the background along with a bunch of other 2D fighters that are 20 years too late.

I'm also gonna be frank about my opinion of Nonki. I think he's a gigantic fucking baby with the reaction he had towards some bad twitter comments.
Cancelling a title to get back at a few people? Only hurts himself, because that's time and money he's thrown away. His reputation is completely smeared, and that's how we'll remember him.

Looking at that video, I'm a little surprised.

He's in a good spot when it comes to design principles, but his animation ability is severely lacking. Not enough preparation frames and almost no follow through for attacks. Not only that but he just gives up on showing motion when it comes to complex maneuvers like turning around. It's effort I know, but fighting games live and die off of those small details.

Hope he doesn't get disillusioned too much by the traditional gaming landscape's expectations.
Not so much adult games since the bar is so low in this space.

Yeah, his animations, H or otherwise have always consisted of low frames. For a lot of, if not all of the H scenes of the FF (final fuck, before someone thinks he worked with Square Enix) series, he basically drew one pose for each of the protags and heavily edited it. It was always passable because his sprites have a much higher pixel count, and protag variety is bolder than a lot of other H-devs. Seriously though, it's like 90% of H-game devs have allergies to bodytype variety. Muscles and chub terrify them.

And regarding that second part, that is exactly where I expect him to fall flat.
He doesn't seem to accept criticism therefore it's unlikely he'll add "tells" to character attacks. Because people like that, they always think they know better than their critics.
I also suspect his ego and temper will get in the way of cooperating with translators if he intends to sell cabinets globally. He'll be lucky to release outside of Japan at all.

Good, he should do whatever makes him happy. I certainly ain't interested if it ain't H, I've got more than enough better non-H games to play but he should do what he enjoys.
 
If anything, he just made new sprites to end up in mugen. Though the mugen scene has seen better days as well.
 
Unless he's got a day job, he'll be back. I've heard of some manga artists turning to mainstream SFW anime, but even they usually go back to doing Hmanga. Developers though? IIRC, work environments for triple A companies aren't very good and is very stressful. The fact that he made good money on Queen's axe and Final Fuck tells me he's making a huge mistake.
