Overview:
This is a choice-based fantasy game, in which we play the role of Lora, a young enchantress who lives in a place called the "Tower". The girl plans to go through the Revenir ritual and become the youngest Adept in the history of the Tower, but... destiny has other plans. Lora's life is in your hands. You decide where Lora will go and who she will become. Good or Evil – it's only your choice.
In the “Last Enchantress”, you take the role of Lora, a girl who lives in a place called the Tower. She studies magic there, gaining ancient knowledge and wisdom of sorcerers, enchanters and alchemists. Lora is supposed to pass the Revenir ritual and become the youngest Adept in the history of the Tower, but her destiny has other plans.
Together with Lora, you will embark on a grand journey through the vast and expansive world of TLE. Witness the beauty of ancient kingdoms, small cosy villages and big cities.
Lora’s legend is forged by your choices. You decide where she will go and what type of relationship with a character she will have. Will you be a hero or a villain?
The game features several dynamic game mechanics. Unlock codex entries as you meet various characters to learn more about their personalities and their past. Find old books and ancient scrolls to learn more about the world of TLE. Follow up on your journey, on your choices and their consequences by reading Lora’s diary.
Wreak havoc on your enemies. The turn-based battle system will allow you to use the spells of different schools of magic you learn during the game to defeat your foes and heal your allies.
Gameplay:
This is a Ren’py game, so the basic gameplay is that of any visual novel in which you read the dialogue and see the pictures. But the game also features some complex gameplay systems like interactive menus (for example, a character menu, a quests menu, inventory management). You can unlock new entries in the menus automatically when you progress the game or when you find some special things in it by clicking on objects and completing quests.
Despite being a visual novel, the game has some free-roam parts where you explore the area, talk to different characters and find collectable items. Like in many visual novels, you have to make some choices here that can change the course of the story and affect your relationships with the characters. The combat is turn-based, so you have to make a choice like you would in a visual novel, and then your opponent attacks.
