You've got a point there. The gauge may distract you from the h-anim. Maybe I will put a gauge bar and make the h-anim glow an outline for the timing so you don't have to keep your eyes on the gauge. I just realized, I think I should've given more information about how the struggle mechanic works, so here is some tips :
I understand that some players might find this mechanic too difficult, but if the previous escaping difficulty is clarified by the tips above, please let me know.
- Regenerate enough stamina before you start to struggle. Pressing "V" consumes stamina each time you use it, If you press "V" right when the H-Anim starts (when you have 0 Stamina after being knocked), you're not letting yourself regenerate enough stamina to escape.
- Try not to miss the timing. missing the timing when pressing "V" will deplete your escape gauge even more than not pressing "V" at all.
- Press W to stand up if you have enough stamina (heal right after you got knocked) or after the enemy finished the h-anim.
I think there's a bit of a mismatch between the timing and the prompt as well which is why some people say it doesn't work, it took me a few seconds to realize that you don't hit V when the V appears but rather you do it just as it disappears, and after that I could escape easily. I do agree that it won't hurt to add a difficulty for those who just prefer to mash their way out but other than that, it's a pretty damn good system after being so used to "hit left and right 2000 times" or "spam the jump button".I just realized, I think I should've given more information about how the struggle mechanic works, so here is some tips :

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! from the code, you can actually hit V right when it turns white. I love the art style so far and the actual combat is pretty fun too from the demo, I'd support you right now but unfortunately I don't have any money at the moment but definitely looking forward to the release. Keep up the amazing work!
One thing I am liking (I don't know if this is personal preference or if other people might like this) is the stamina mechanic; in particular how when its emptied from getting hit, she falls unconscious for a couple seconds. Nowadays, games don't want to be doing that which sucks.

Game development has been a learning experience for me, and sound effects, especially moaning, turned out to be more complex than I thought. They can easily become annoying and repetitive. But don't worry! I'll work with the VA to figure out how to make the moan flowing more smoothly without sounding repetitive. Plus, they'll add different variations based on the character's situation.
