I'm going to wait until my other two tickets show up. Ideally I get three more new Knights, but failing that I wouldn't mind a dupe of Toad Lily so that she can wear something aside from her unique earrings.

Last 2 tickets will come on monday, I got hit by the maple bug for my 5*+ ticket where she was the only one in the pool, which they said they were fixing after I pulled. Atleast its my first free rainbow, right? I shouldn't be mad it didn't have the possibility of being one I wanted.
I also got a Setaria dupe which I'm not fussed about, she is my current girl for ampys.

Maple was the only 6* unit you could pull from the 5*+ ticket, it should include every 6* unit now. Only a real problem for those who already had Maple and rolled the ticket immediately as they got it, those who got a 5* unit from it weren't affected, only the lucky 20%.

Ahh no big deal since I only pulled golds anyway then.
Was it 20% for the ticket before they fixed it then? When I looked at the rates it said 30% for 6*.

So what are these defensive special missions? Are they for fun, extra flower gems, or another place to farm?
Also: Is the chop-chop gold rush even worth doing...?

Yes although dunno about farming. Force you to use your garbo 2/3 stars I guess
And no, except for the flower gems. I seem to remember a few months ago there was some sort of error in which a more advanced version of of the coin rush was available for a couple hours. Didn't do it, and that's more info than necessary

When it comes to animations I'm still partial to Nerine ice skating around the map, Toad Lily's tendency to be flustered when most anything happens, and Ivy nerding out during her special attack.

Something's weird with gardener requests. I wasn't able to buy one of the 'special' garden items until I had two requests to use even though it only costs one request per item. At least now I have a properly spooky garden.
EDIT: It's a good thing the defense quests are fairly easy starting out since my Winter Rose 'forces' are pretty threadbare (twelve Knights, four of which are evolved, two of which are bronze Knights).
