I sat for a bit on the game while I was watching something and came back and tired to start a map (84 stamina), then got a communication error. Logged back in and had 381/191 stamina.
Ran the map anyway and I'm down to 301. Kind of afraid to try and keep going.

^ AFAIK, if you get more stamina than your max, it'll play as normal and go down each time you go do something [always does for me]. So in essence, you get ~2 stamina bars stacked on top of each other ........ Never had the 1 which removes stamina thus far *crosses fingers and touches wood*

Whenever I do a map I don't have enough stamina for, I pay flower gem, and then the excess stamina gets stored for me and I run the map. I like the feature because it let me keep on playing instead of waiting until timer refills so that I won't waste any stamina.

So either :
1 - You don't bug out and everything works as intended
2 - Bug form "A" : reduce stamina by 1/2 what you gathered (100 in pool > gather 20 > you lose 10 > total 90)
3 - Bug form "B" : gain 3x what you gathered (100 in pool > gather 20 > you gain 3x20 > total 160)
Feel free to elaborate on this and/or if I missed a variant.
So either :

I just lost stamina doing a gathering. Started with 71, ended up with 62. I'm pretty confident that I actually picked up 9 stamina during the gathering, which would mean the system deducted instead of adding that stamina. Anyone else know if the numbers matched up for them? Perhaps it is an error where it is deducting instead of adding.

When I log on I have more stamina than I should, and it gets fixed after I do gathering.

I just had stamina stolen from me. I lost something like 30 of it with a gathering attempt.

By the way, we recently realized that you can maximize coin gain in the gold rush daily by using only very slow teams & helper, because teams get drops for every movement turn they get, not every node they cross.
I am now getting mostly 19-21k runs compared to the usualy mostly 16k runs with this team:

Are you sure you're not imagining it? I regularly get 20k+ with my normal teams.

So far it's consistently 18-19k going up to 23k, not just every now and then... I haven't had a single run with less than 18.5k today. Usually 4 out of 5 runs were ~16k for me with the occasional 20k.
edit: and it's the same for a couple of other guys who are trying it.
edit2: of course that could mean that we're all just getting really lucky with teams spinning more than usual, but I've only had 2 instances of "excessive" spinning and those were the ones that ended up at 23k coins each.
