I don't think I have access to Phalanx 2 yet, the current Phalanx I have access to gives only silver fairies.

3rd rainbow today, bless G map.
Anyone got any tips on how I could maybe 3* it? I can easily 2* it but I always have to let the first gold wolf through and if I try to stop it with sybilla or something it messes up my UP curve and can't set up Bernice with healers+soldiers.

I was joking back then, but now it's not too much like a joke anymore.
Though, the re-drawer effort is very admirable considering the ninja-edit & ninja-revert.

you can quite easily 1* skip the challenge quest maps up till phalanx 2 by following etheternal video guides on youtube. the only one that was tough was solitary battle 3 which you can skip by using cc katie to kill everything up till the wolves then switch her out for leeanne.

My Sybilla can't handle it either, Clissa can though who's just slightly tankier, I then have Marr and Fedora healing and still have time to place 2 soldiers before more wolves come.
I really thought my Sybilla could but I rely on Clissas healing too much, 1200-1300hp healing seems fine, Clissas skill is cause Marrs skill isn't instant.
Clissa is also essential for later on, when I retreat her, wait one second and place Anya, Sybilla would have to wait 11 seconds and let the 2 golden wolves by.

I managed to mini-cost Waltz and get her skill to 6/10 without using any Sacred Crystals. I'm quite satisfied with the result, I'll admit.
On an unrelated note, what's the percentage chance of levelling a unit's skill up from 3 to 4 by feeding them a unit with the same skill, when the skill's maximum level is 5? I saw a chart on the wiki, but wasn't sure if it was saying the chance was 5% or 25%.

So, basically:
I assume you got confused and were looking at level 4's percentage to 5 and thought the 5% was part of 3. 3 to 4 is 25% when using the same skill and 50% for the Rainbow Fairy. The 5% or 25% is going from 4 to 5.

I just used the samurai I pulled to clear the solitary battle 3. She made it easy for me although some wolves got through but she's still low lvl anyways. And at that time, katie was like lvl 30 unevolved. I'm currently at Toxic Swamp 3. Only did one attempt on it so far. So not too sure on how to beat it yet.
I used the samurai cuz I noticed she had 300+ attack at lvl 26.
Oh and Katie's evolved now.
And, I won't mind buying 6 dollars of crystals if it meant the exp/gold boost was a full calendar month instead of stopping short at 20 days.
Uh, I got my evolved Katie up to lvl 30, and I notice she can be awakened now but I won't do it until she's max lvl. So I'm seeing that Silver units cannot be awakened?
That sucks cuz my Elaine is lvl 30 evolved unit now And I see that she requires 3* Soldier, Rogue, Bandit and a 6* fairy. Which I already have all the mats for. So It wasn't a complete waste of time to farm yesterday and failing horribly for a platinum fairy after all.. Lucky! Or am I wrong. Not spirit of rainbow but spirit of awakening from tradepost for 100 demon crystals?
Which's better for gold gain? Pastoral Gate or Deep Forest Road? I'm thinking Pastoral Gate because it costs only 12 charisma which allows for even more trys to get more units to discharge for gold.

You are correct that silver's can't be awakened. Also, for units to be AW, they need their maximum level and affection/trust, so your CC katie will need to be lvl 60 with 100% affection to be AW. Also note that the silver units for AW need to be CCd first. So you can just get them to level 30 and CC them in order to use that silver for AW... or you can just use a gold unit (but those are a bit more rare). Also that 6* fairy you mentioned costs 100 Demon crystals in the trading post. AW is pretty costly so you may want to make sure you have built a good team first.

Yikes, it requires the sacrificial units to be at lvl 30? Phooey. Looks like it won't be happening for awhile although level 30 is easy enough. Hardest would be the spirit of awakening. Can she be farmed on a map? I only got 19 demon crystals atm.

Worse, the units don't have to be level 30, they have to be CCed and CCing a silver unit costs another silver unit (and some irons and a silver fairy, but that's the easy part). So in total awakening costs
- 6 silvers and the exp to CC 3 of them (or 3 gold units),
- money (200k for a gold unit, 250k for platinum and 300k for black),
- the awakening fairy from the trading post for 100 DC (you can't really get her elsewhere. Exception are some events, where she's rarely given as a completion bonus) and
- 1-6 awakening orbs depending on rarity and class (you can only get them from specific daily missions for 90 Cha. They don't drop garuanteed and since you need a specific one for the class you want to awaken luck can be a bitch and make you spend a ton of charisma, which is not a good idea for starters as you need all excess charisma for leveling your units. And the maps are probably to tough for you to beat at the moment I guess)
So all in all pretty expencive for a starter. I probably wouldn't bother with awakening untill you have a team of 50CC50 units. Another reason for that is that it costs a lot to bring a unit from level 40-50 to max level. As a starter you'd better use this experience to CC other units because this increases the overall strength of your team more than one max level unit.
Katie is argueably not one of the best choices to awaken (first) btw. She simply benefits less from it then other units.
To sum it up: My advice (I don't command you to, feel free to do whatever you like) is to stick with leveling your units and priorotizing being able to farm Mondays and Thursdays H dailies until you have a solid team that can beat a good part of the story missions and events missions
