Actually, the main reason I was commenting on Zola as compared to mages was that Zola's skill is to temporarily convert her damage to magic damage, so I found that... Not inspiring? Since artillery characters seemed to be meant as the ranged physical splash damage class, and I already have one for magic?

Or am I underestimating how useful that is somewhere? (and additionally, is she a decent unit? I have no bar to compare her with since... Again, don't really have much in the way of artillery in my collection, as it were)

300 range vs 240 range.

Well, yes, but I assume, like Pirates, and Necromancers for that matter, their higher range/damage/w/e (depending) stats are deceptive because they suffer from muuuuuuch lower attack speed?

I did not know that about Zola my bad,but if she keeps her range thats pretty decent,but I would put her pretty low cause of her mainly being on the field for physcial.

Technically not so much her since she gets increased attack speed in exchange for reduced range when you awaken her. So when she's AW she's only 290 range.

You could try looking for the attack speed page that someone posted a while back to see the differences.

Sorry, let me clear that up, I may have crossed wires a bit:

Zola's awakening trait is -10 range, +Attack speed

Her active skill switches her damage to magic temporarily, which just seemed like a bad skill (not that there can't be good units with bad skills, since sometimes the POWER OF NUMBERS, or Awakening bonuses quite overcome that), so I wasn't sure if she was particularly worthwhile to pursue or if I should wait to hopefully get a better Artie character.

Also: Apologies to Rawr, but that's what you get for posting while I'm posting =P

Attacks per second

Mage/Warlock/Arch Mage 0.312
Artillery Officer/Heavy Artillery Officer 0.309

Then you have AW Zola
Cannon Master (Zola) 0.366

Yeah, I was noticing that Artillery and Mages have almost the same attack speed. Which surprised me. May have to give her more attention and test her out >_> She's cheaper too. I assume it's just the whole "armor actually applies" thing.

My recommendation would be not to worry about her until you AW her though. Problem with artillery is they only have an 80 splash radius compared to mages 133.

When you AW her the splash radius increases to 120. So you have a slightly smaller splash in exchange for more speed/range.

Unless you have like AW Sasha, then the speed's almost the same and only difference is range.

Oh! Huh, I did not know artillery had less splash. The things you can't or don't learn from the stat charts. Thanks for the heads up there.

Zola's Skill also comes with attack increase, that, coupled with her attack, that is higher than of all magi, and attack speed that is even higher than Sasha's upon Awakening, makes her hardest-hitting magical AoE unit (that is not Summoner) :p

. . . Ah, I forgot about the multiplier because at R1 it's x1.0 damage and magic, so I, like a genius, didn't realize the multiplier would make it scale up... Mmmkay, gotta put her on my "Level and eventually AW" list =P

her Skill awaken is 20% chance to nullify dmg for all allies,and 2.5x def,and MR(for herself) for 55 secs.She also begins with the ability at 20% doing 1.8x her dmg,and I think when she awakened that gets enhanced to 100% for undead.

Also since she is a Dark Knight she starts with 20 MR.

I see. Nice. Well not having SCs and she's being black... not sure if I'll risk. I better wait for spotlight for Sasha and... Flamel?


On the side note: that commander surprised me. Didn't think that decrease of att will affect me so much.

Yeah I failed that first time,everyones' atk going down to around 100 was horrible.

@Orion yeah I'm wondering if they maybe got the code early.

Side note:I find it funny awakened karma acts as anti-poison in the poison map,she is like a psudo feng shi.

Karma? i dont remember she having ability like that. Bug perhaps?

Its not a bug when the balance patch happened all blacks got nerfed abilities when pre-AWed of their Awed abilities.Karma's Ability when awakened is she heals 50% of the dmg she takes to everyone deployed(pre-Awed its 20%).

So with the poison map she takes 10 dmg a sec,which makes it so all my units are only taking 5 dmg,since she is healing 5 dmg to everyone a sec.

Yeah, map 2 is easily the hardest map 2 we've ever had. Pretty surprising, almost impressive, even. I barely pulled through with Sherry.

Map 4 is what got me though. Damn cannoneers at the end were sturdier than I expected. Surprisingly fast too. I eventually got overwhelmed. Clearly I need to save Bernice for those guys.
