(Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

The update notes say that all four units will be implemented tomorrow. So yes, you'll be able to buy them in whatever order you want.

Hm, I'm just going time time fairy and steaks as well. But if I accidently happen to get enough RCs I'll buy another Dorania as well. She can be used on male maps and maybe one day I'll want to have a tanky Anya and an offensive Anya with AW skill, who knows. Plus the only other RC units I need are plat Karma (only one copy for completionism) and Len (she's only -2 2/10), so not really any reason to save them.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

it atleast increases time fairy from once a year to twice but lately the event units on dmm have been very solid its gonna be hard to save if that continues

also yes whales laugh at that amount and likely dont benefit nearly as much as free users from the recent gatcha changes as it makes rainbow crystal units actually obtainable and sets a path to get them though long and tedious

But then you have to ask whether you want a Time Fairy or two Platinum Tickets or some of the other things you can get, though that's probably a discussion for the other thread so I'm going to stop here.

My indecision on what to spend my Rainbow Crystals over at the DMM version is showing.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

even if you cant get absolutely everything in this run of anya if they are going off dmm they run her once a year and its so far always the same on dmm
pick a target and get them on dmm i focused out and got anya the first time round and with the recent revival snagged up aria and echidna
also by the time aria comes back around we should have the plat empire soldier while not the cheapest she is an amazing soldier so even if you do miss aria another great soldier is coming

Lieselotte's one of the soldiers I'm looking forward to. What is her event like? Cuz I wanna be prepared for it.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

Well, guess I'm done farming healers.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

Hmmm.. the completionist in me wants to collect and mincost Sealed Dorania. I heard that someone datamined DMM Aigis and found out the devs plan on having a secret Dorania CC into Twilight Anya if you save a bunch of rare materials (just kidding).

I'm gonna have a hard time spending that time fairy though. It will probably sit in a barracks until the end of time (pun) since i'll never decide what to do with her.

i dont think its super hard cause its a farm type the last map has vids for silvers only though some includes the silver princess that we should get by the time we get to lieselotte

Guess I have a reason now to go through all the old maps.

Also, Noel apparently had a race change. :V

Feels good to be wrong, also new efficient map is in. Changing Elaine to Misha really opens things up more than they've ever done. Wonder how long it'll take until I get her, I hate how it says I've received one already.

That's because "Elves" were firmly associated with "Fairies" ("Crisis of the Fairy Village") when "Fairies" ("fae") are actually "The Fair Folk", "phantasmal species" encompassing elves AND dwarves. Double whammy!

:
The interchange of the terms "elf" and "fairy" and the resulting confusion is something of a convoluted story.

The simple version: both can be referred to in Japanese by the word yousei (which also refer to sprites too). This grouping-together has never been true in modern English pop culture, where "fairies" were tiny winged females out of Disney movies and "elves" were cultivated by the popularity of J. R. R. Tolkien's works into the "long-lived, high-class" image they have today. As Japanese generally use the loanword erufu to specify the version of elves that stems from Tolkien, and both Chydis and Olivie refer to themselves as erufu, the "fairy" part of the localization can be chalked up to mistranslation.

The version accounting for history: in folklore, "fairy" was the label attached to magical creatures of all sorts of varying shapes and sizes and power, which included the older kind of elves (think of Santa's Little Elves and the Harry Potter series' "house-elves"), pixies, dwarves (which we'll get in Aigis later), undines, trolls, sometimes goblins and gnomes. However, these creatures were only loosely connected to each other, and even then only by the label of "fairy"/"faerie", the adjective form of "fae"/"fay"/"fey", all of which has literal meanings that can be summed up as "with magic". Time marched on, and the stories of the various fairies were edited to be more child-friendly (like taking out the bit where they tended to seduce people). By the modern day, they turned into versions of themselves removed from what they once had been. As a result, much like several related people who all share the same grandparents but who all have different surnames, "fairy" used in the older sense of the word is one way to refer to the whole family, but it's not immediately apparent whether you're referring to that one cousin who still has that same surname, or you're referring to the whole group of people whose parents used to have that last name. You probably wouldn't even know in the first place they were related unless you're told or you're already in the know.

Also, from an in-game perspective, using "fairy" in its older meaning could bring up the question of whether demons would also be considered "fairies".

In conclusion, it probably would've been better if they acknowledged pop culture and used one of the related word less charged with meaning in the modern era. I'd go with "the Fae". -

Some sources:
  • article on TvTropes
  • and articles on Wikipedia (bit of a tough
reading, though)

Hmm, "Fae Priest Noel"...

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

IIRC, Noel is a Dwarf tho.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

Yes she is. Both her introduction and her scenes state that. So her title ("Yousei Shisai") should have been "Fairy Priest" under the current nomenclature, not "Elven Priest".
We should send tickets to make them fix the mistake and change her title on more appropriate (once again "Fae" may be? :D But "Dwarven" would be best, yes)

So, Gadoras is in the next revival (rip AW'd Anya), but I can grind for a Time Fairy. It'd only take around 15 days, give or take, to get her. That or a bunch of refills. And since I assume that the fairy will rotate out with the event next week, it's refills or bust. Yep, not gonna bother. I have almost all of the event units mincosted and the few premium units I have are either fine without cost reduction or so expensive that -1 won't matter.

I can confirm that event maps I've done at original run do in fact have 100% drop rate first time I run them at revival.

*"Spirit of Time Fleur" can be exchanged only once per user
until the scheduled maintenance on 12/27.

You got 3 weeks not 1 till they get removed, 2 weeks of event to try for her.

Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)

Wait... how the fuck are you supposed to get Gadoras? He doesn't drop in this event. The bronze dragon would be pretty easy from the 2k gacha... but Gadoras is a silver.
