Re: [Nutaku] X-Overd
i wonder how equipment attributes works? are they % or just base? if you have a water staff +30 water and a neptune oracle +40 water will you have 70% water damage?
Even the guide isn't clear enough on this subject:
• If a Character's Attribute and the given Attribute are the same, the [Attribute Value Sum] is applied (Max Attribute Value is 100)
Eg: Fire 50 + Fire 30
• [Attack with Fire 80]
• If a Character's Attribute and the given Attribute are different, the [Attribute Strong Against Enemy] is applied
Eg: Fire 50 + Water 20
• [Against Wood Enemy - Attack with Fire 50]
• [Against Fire Enemy - Attack with Water 20]
I guess a % of the damage of your attack is considered of that element? So if you do 1000 normal damage , in the case you presented, 70% of it would be water damage , so 700 water damage which would be increased vs fire enemies?
Few notes:
-The % of attribute doesn't really matter.
-The increase in damage is around 50% (according to jp wiki)
-The decrease in damage is also around that.
-The game is fair and doesn't advantage the player or the environment. If it works a way around, it will work in the other way.
The elemental check order is the following:
Absorption > Advantage > Disadvantage > Neutral
Now, what does that means?
Let's say you are using a Margaret. Margaret, as a Thunder Character, is strong against Water (more damage dealt AND less damage taken) and weak against Earth (less damage dealt and more damage taken). She is also neutral against Dark, Light, Fire and Lightning.
If you equip an Earth Element, you will be strong against Water and Lightning (more damage dealt AND less damage taken), and weak against Earth and fire (less damage dealt and more damage taken).
However, if you have two opposed elements (fire/thunder, Earth/water), the "reduced" disappears from everywhere. If margaret equip a fire element, she will both deal and take more damage to and from water and earth. No more "reduced damage dealt" or "reduced damage taken" somewhere. You should be careful about that if you want to equip an element against a special ennemy. If the base element is wrong, you will still be very squishy, even if you are doing better damage.
Light and Dark don't have this "reduced damage" aspect, and increase both damage dealt and taken. Equipping a light/dark element when you are dark/light just remove the neutrality to your own element, and increase both damage dealt and taken. In this aspect, it doesn't change anything from a fire or a water character equipping a Dark/light element.
Finally, the absorption. Some boss will absorb a specifical element. Since it's at the very top of priority, it means changing element doesn't matter, you will still heal him. Ever. Just change the character.
However, I'm not sure about how the whole thing works if you have a character using another element with a piece of elemental equipment (like Lily).
