Yeah... no. I'm not translating the game. And my 'hack' is about ~20 lines of python, including a minor patch to the Ren'Py engine that the game uses to run.

Usage instructions: unzip over the top of your DMC game, making sure to overwrite the renpy/text/text.py file. Then open the new rcv directory and run rcv.exe; it will launch DMC and copy any Japanese text it sees to the clipboard. You absolutely must use

for the translator, as it's scrollback is essential; just switch on ChiiTrans2's clipboard monitoring and you should be good to go.
The hack simply blasts any text that the Ren'Py engine sees over a local socket to the rcv program, which checks to see if it's Japanese, and if it is it will copy it to clipboard. As only Japanese text is sent to be translated, it's advisable to use the English UI to cut down on text spam.
