Re: One of Them (Dragontear)

The person inside had not secured the door well enough that it could stop Merlacie. Slow her, yes, but she'd break through eventually. Each slam shoved the items blocking the door farther and farther back.

The person inside was cursing under her breath. Merlacie didn't understand but the tone made it obvious. The door was just about to break open when a bullet whizzed through the wood, inches from her face. It missed the zombie too, though unlike her larger companion, the woman didn't realize she'd just been attacked.

Re: One of Them (Dragontear)

Using one's obviously great gift of diplomacy to manually over-ride the doors, the wooden entrance didn't seem it would hold up against the combined siege from two infected, and that somehow brought up a little... joy, however faint. As compelled as she was, Merlacie lacked the clarity to simply resist being a puppet and hide away, instincts wishing for her to make a den and live like some lower life-form. At least there would be some kind of peace, however twisted the concept was for a former human.

She could not see the person inside, due to the pile of items, be they chairs, desks or crates - or any crap found on the floor, hastily erected defence that was quite good for such little notice. However as soon as she felt the doors sufficiently weaken, alien curses spat from inside wherever this door led to, shortly followed by a small explosion tore through the door, spitting shards and splinters near enough to her head that she hissed very loudly, creating a god-awful resonating tone while instinctively dropping into a feral crouch, warning the other woman to get down simultaneously. Alas, with all the effort spent moving and attacking, nausia once again attacked, and shi groaned, swayed and slumped head-first against the door, panting a little until the discomfort subsided, and then shi shoved against the door using her shoulder, at least intent on breaching the attempt at defense, short-term planning not really including what to do afterward.

For she did not know.

Re: One of Them (Dragontear)

As the door finally broke all the way a bullet slammed into Merlacie's shoulder. It was but a minor annoyance, however, merely serving to draw the woman's attention to the occupant of the room. A young, blonde woman wearing a labcoat was sprawled against the far wall of the small office. She had a small pistol aimed right at the infected. Her eyes were wide and jaw dropped at the lack of damage done to her target, despite a direct hit.

Though the bullet itself was little more than an additional source of un-asked for aggravation, the impact did jar the odd infected, spinning her slightly before Merlacie emitted a liquid-hissing shriek of moderate volume, many fanged-teeth bared as shi dropped to a heavy stoop, growling in annoyance before working those poorly used vocal chords. She was not sure what compelled her or why, but it felt too compelling to simply dismiss - perhaps this one could make better sense of the situation?

"Hu...human - fairy..." Came the disjointed voice as she righted herself, then shot forwards into a rapid crawl-trudge, certainly fast enough to take the wide-eyed blonde-haired fool off guard. The current intent was to disarm her, what to do after that was not entirely... planned.

The woman was momentarily frozen from the odd display Merlacie put on, but when the infected moved in she snapped out of her trance. She brought the gun up again, but her opponent was too close as the two wound up struggling for control before she could fire. The blonde continued to yell and sob incoherently as she desperately tries to slide back away, but Merlacie was just too powerful.

Re: One of Them (Dragontear)

The stunning effect was marvelous, genius even, but whatever the result became, the infected Tier I monster in a woman's shape had managed to close the seemingly large gap between melee-orientated monster and weak, sobbing human with a small, apparently useless weapon. The moment that shi began this incredibly agile, impressive, though in reality was a clumsy, awkward grapple, the battle had been lost for the human'ette, lacking the strength and ability to fight, the girl was utterly upon the infected's mercy.

Muscular, curvy figure would quickly tear the gun from her grasp and fling it away with impunity, rather unconcerned with the tool being used later - the pounding head-ache and nausea was making this otherwise pathetically easy task so very difficult, 'twas but the adrenaline from receiving the full impact, regardless of area on her body that received the supposedly deadly round, that maintained the oddly discolored female's ability to simply operate. Now, however with the high of conflict wearing off, strength and clarity once again faded into some murky cesspool, ignoring the Tier II, shi hissed and held the girl up by her neck quietly, enough to speak volumes about hir strength, but loose enough that breathing would be un-interrupted.

She was rather thoughtful.

Questions buzzed to and fro, yet none really came to the fore-front, and a idea, however silly, slithered into reality; "Faaairy... ff-found... girl... ff-found girl - up stairs..." Shi hissed with discordant, broken tones, figuring that if the girl from before would cease fire on another human, then perhaps more sense could be made... exposition was valuable, however murky the reason shi still lived remained.
