(OOC) DND Unchained Chat

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Just tossed one up myself.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Honestly, Talia might agree with that.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

My next post will be the end. Those entering are:

Weiss
Talia
Vylyra
Kat
Laya

If your PC's name is not on this list, then upon my next post you will be outside the estate.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Just to remind everyone, since Kaguya brought it up.

Everyone had a long rest at the lizard man's place after he knocked all of you up. So that means your current trauma points are halved. In the future when you guys rest, you can have someone try to roll Charisma to comfort them, rules in the first post of the OOC about that.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Finally finished reading the story so far. It's fun (and at times hillarious), so I think I will be following it from now on. Good job, everyone! :)

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Curses, was planning on recruiting him.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

I wonder if Open isn't clear enough. Gotta be more direct about it perhaps

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Suggestion:
If you have not done so yet make a short summary of the story so far. 57 pages seem like a lot and might discourage some new players from trying, but in fact it is just 2 quests and the beginning of a third (this one seems like it will be longer and more complicated than the first two). Adding a link to where the current quest more or less starts might also be a good idea.

Also, a short list of things to expect in the story (and things not to expect, as well) might be a good idea. Never hurts to let people know what to expect.

The above two things might help to get potential players to at least give it a try. Not me, obviously – I'm not familiar with 5th edition (and barely familiar with previous editions of D&D) and the characters I usually (try to) play in such games don't fit this one. Which is why I am only reading.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

I agree with you on multiple fronts, however I'm both incredibly lazy and the general idea of what to expect would be a most wide spectrum of fetishes. It'd be hard for me to categorize it all, and keep new information updated.

The biggest tracker would probably just be the level ups, which I suppose I could track and show the milestones of since each level up is the end of a quest. Though, I reasonably should put some effort into making a little intro thread for new players to let them get their bearings. Even if only it'd direct them to the custom rules and most frequent fetishes before a basic recap of the beginning plot before giving them their own solo intro and integrating them seamlessly into the group.

Which is kind of the idea really, I expect players to not read all of the posts made, and hope to add them in seamlessly so that they don't need to account for events they weren't there for.

I'll need both time and an idea of how to do this in a simple way.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Did a post go missing or something? There seems to be a double-post involving information that wasn't there before.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Sorry for that, I did a bunch of rolling when talking to RJ and he told me to put the new information in with a double post.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Ah Displacer Beasts. This brings me back to Talia's adventures and the making of superior tentacat crossbreeds a full out species.

Also this.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

He's lying officer, I never met this man in my life.

I was lazy

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Man even the description of how the displacer brought those three inside is making me think of Talia now. Course, she enhanced that displacer a toooon heh.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Note to RJ: the web is still over the whole area that Talia placed it at, the cultist and imp just escaped from it. It's a persistent AoE effect that lasts until concentration breaks or it's destroyed.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

I know. But I assumed I did everything correctly. They made the dex save, and the webbing is a block of 2x2 squares or 20 feet of difficult terrain. So they moved at half speed away from the fight, and will move at full speed next turn cuz they left the webbing. I'm assuming this is correct.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

Assuming they managed to clear the affected area in one turn, yes. Anything that enters the webbing during their turn or starts a turn in it has to make a save, though.

That being said, I may be dropping the effect, depending on what I decide to do next. I don't want to waste SP on Quickening just yet.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

I assume the players keep track of their spells used, but given the track record, I'd like to remind everyone to track the spells they've used so they know how many they have left. I'm not sure if it's easy to do on your myth weavers sheet, but whatever's easiest for you.

Re: (OOC) DnD: Unchained Out of Character Chat

It's not the easiest, I mostly just keep track in my head. I'll need a system later when I have more than 6 spells divided over 2 rows to keep track of, probably use a notepad, but right now it's not hard. I've used one second level slot, got 1 left, and four 1st levels.
