(Open to New Players) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia tried not to stare too much at the open debauchery that surrounded her, preferring to focus on the various details of the buildings and people around the group. So far things seemed to look remarkably non-evil, if perverted as Hell. "Do you mind if I ask a question?" The sorceress turned to the females that guided the group to the village. "You mentioned that you were changed and that the tribe is still exploring their current state. I take it this means the change is still relatively fresh?" She inquired. "You see, I'm a bit of an arcane specialist. Complex magecraft and powerful spells are something I am interested in, and the kind of magic necessary to make such a change may very well be one of a kind."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Two of a kind. came Kethanua's immediate response, delivered to her companions where their guides couldn't hear. This looks like the early stages. They escalated from this after about a month, last time. Try to keep them talking, though.

Her composure never broke, while she took in the spectacle. The drow strolled through the lizardfolk village with the distantly intrigued air of a visiting instructor watching another's students practicing. At most, her attentions were just a hair too sharp to be as uninterested as she behaved.

( Kn:Relig for whatever details that reveals about what happened to this place.)

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya listened, musing as she walked along with the strange lizardfolk, strumming on her lute.

"I'm guessing you have a communal lifestyle, where you share resources for the greater good, right? Well our cultures are a lot more complicated in design. Because of the much higher numbers of our various species in close proximity and skills and such, sharing everything becomes a problem due to resource limitations. Marriage originated as a means to share resources between those in charge decisively without arguments over who has what when and such. Not sure where the love thing came in. But it makes for good stories and it definitely clicked with the populace."

She pondered a bit. "I suppose a lot of that is on us bards and storytellers for that sort of thing. Still, the attitudes of the town are somewhat unusual, but I wouldn't be surprised that they're highstrung over all of this right now. So, is there only girl lizardfolk or are there boy ones too? I'm curious."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Yes, there are." Talia responded, idly pointing one out. "For a storyteller, you've got pretty bad attention to detail. Or is this because you're too used to fudging them?"

There, they saw that there were not only lizard women, but also lizard men, in addition to the scarce sightings of human men and women in the village.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"A tthe same time though, you have to understand that the mayor is under a considerable amount of pressure to perform to certain expectation in terms of her leadership. She has to act a certain way or people will get unhappy with her. When we arrived she was being unfairly compared to her predecessor. Really, we're trying to get the full grasp of the situation and try to understand all sides of the conflict. I mean, it seemed like you guys got along with them at some point in time if our information is correct. At least in terms of having a basic system of trade in the past." The ranger really wasn't bothered as much as her comrades by the events going on around her given her recent imprisonment and what happened to her and being a little more in touch with nature and how things work outside civilization. These are a people who're learning all manner of new things and this was just their way of exploring it. Sex revealed alot about people.

"I mean, based on what I've seen, you guys don't seem to be outright kidnapping people. Lotta folks here seem like they came by their own choice. For all we know, there's just been some manner of misunderstanding. Clash of cultures if you will with one side getting a little too angry at the other. I mean, it'd be like me gong to live in a city of proper elves and getting upset they aren't acting like people did back home. Am I making sense here?"

W-Weiss said:
T-Though, your perception of marriage might be slight warped by the nearby town. It isn’t supposed to be one person owning another. I-It’s supposed to be a gesture of wanting to spend your entire life with one person, because your love for each other is so incredibly strong, that you don’t want anyone else but each other

"Then why, after one of those two who presumably love each other, do they become violent and illogical? It's as if all love fades when that love is shared. The only way we can see it, is that it's greed, which humans are profoundly known for."

W-Weiss said:
''H-Have you perhaps considered living closely or with a human community that works the same as yours?

"We did. Here we are. Then, things started to not work out. We cannot last through another migration."

Talia said:
You mentioned that you were changed and that the tribe is still exploring their current state. I take it this means the change is still relatively fresh?

"Yes, a woman in a red robe happened by, and saw our chieftain with a chain on his wrist. He had no clue where he got it from, but she claims he was the chosen one. She broke the chain, setting him free, and allowing him the power to do what he wanted to do, and that is, to make his clan prosperous and respected. He changed us women, and appealed to human nature, which worked, for a time... We, for the first time, mingled with humans... You all have chains as well. Perhaps you could benefit from becoming free as well?" she questioned.

Keth's Knowledge said:
Lizardfolk are not normally this peaceful, and their patron gods demand sacrifices, not additions of other races. The idea of morality is also alien to such creatures and their religion, hinting that something happened to them that changed their way of thinking drastically.

The Ranger said:
Am I making sense here?

"Yes."

"Yes, there are." Talia responded, idly pointing one out. "For a storyteller, you've got pretty bad attention to detail. Or is this because you're too used to fudging them?"

"Nah, time distortions. Sometimes I go to say something and by the time I've said it, time's accelerated past the point of relevance and new details made it redundant. Course, being half a wizard you probably wouldn't know about that.," shrugs Laya, looking about the surroundings.

"In any case, it sounds like we need to discuss matters with the chieftain and get these two leaders to sit down and discuss things. After we find out what made him decide on, well... going with this as his route for using his abilities. I'm pretty curious about it. And perhaps we can learn more about the nature of it. This is a lot more... Dramatic in use than simply ordering about goblinoids and kobolds like the other guy. Kinda excited actually, seems like this might be a good story alright."

Perhaps you could benefit from becoming free as well?" she questioned.

"I am quite satisfied with where, who and what I am right now, but thanks for the offer." Talia replied. "I'll think it over." In truth, she wasn't really planning to get that chain broken, given what was the result of it happening. Still, this proved that the situation had been caused by the activities of unchained. At the very least, the tribe itself seemed peaceful. The only potential issue was the chieftain. They had to determine what his intentions were, how much of an influence the demons had on him and whether he was going to be a threat. Perhaps if he was more reasonable than the last asshole, they'd be able to come up with a peaceful solution.

"Nah, time distortions. Sometimes I go to say something and by the time I've said it, time's accelerated past the point of relevance and new details made it redundant. Course, being half a wizard you probably wouldn't know about that.," shrugs Laya, looking about the surroundings.

"Yes, being the group's resident arcane specialist, I can recognize bullshit when I see it." Talia snarked back at the bard. "We walked into the village and saw their men. Hell, the conversation we had earlier with them implied they existed, at the very least. Or the one we had with the mayor. This isn't you being late with questions, this is you not paying attention." The tiefling snorted. "Though I suppose my sorcerous powers did endow me with the rare ability of noticing the obvious so yes, I probably wouldn't know all that."

Talia didn't comment on this. Laya was more or less spot on, as far as immediate course of action went at least. A meeting with the chieftan would be necessary to get a measure of him and hear what his take on the whole mess was. The sorceress suspected that the debauchery was just how the unchained operated, though. It was likely their advice or influence that drove the chief to promote it among lizards. That being said... This was, indeed, a good opportunity to learn. Altough she doubted they'd learn much about the magic that had been used here without catching that mysterious woman in red.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kethanua seemed to have reached the same conclusion, picking that moment to return to the conversation and catch up with the lizards guiding them.

"You said there was a lady in red who could break our chains? Naturally, we're committed to trying to broker a more complete peace, here, but do you happen to know which way she went, after she assisted your chieftain? I'd like very much to catch up to her."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kat had followed the group into the lizard town, and unlike most of the others. Didn't try to divert her eyes from the things going on around them. Instead she just looked at them like she did everything else, namely passing over it after looking to take in what she was seeing.

Listening to the lizard woman talk though she would finally comment. "Quite like being dogbold. Unchained dogbold would likely be bad. Should find her though, can answer questions. Chieftain first though."

"We do not. The chieftain alone met with her, and only told us of her wisdom and beauty. "

"Quite like being dogbold. Unchained dogbold would likely be bad. Should find her though, can answer questions. Chieftain first though."

"If you wish to see the chieftain, he's this way..." she said.

A bit of walking, since the group wished, and later they would all find themselves approaching the largest wooden hut in the village, where they would be allowed inside past two lizard guards, to behold quite a sight. One of the lizard kin, but he was easily over ten foot tall, wearing only his natural scales, which looked like worthy armor on it's own, and was possessed with a strangely human body and face, his feet had scaled human toes and his face was a mutant mix of lizard and human. To complete his massive size, he had an equally intimidating set of genitals. Even limp, his length hung at just under a foot long and possessed a thickness diameter of 4 inches. He was in possesion of a large halberd, and a familiar unchained tattoo on his wrist.

Upon seeing the girls, he smiled. "Ah, indeed, how pleasant it is to see that the savior was wrong!" he cheered upon seeing them. "No scent of lizardfolk blood on you! Perhaps fear, but you have done nothing wrong! Foretold was I that you would come with fury and blood letting, but I am told you only wish to talk! Perhaps you have come to restore relations, and help with the union of this lizard tribe and the human tribe?" he inquired. "I think it would be for the benefit of both our races, if the new human leader and I got married, but she hasn't even given me the light of day. I'm also informed that she may be evil. But I refuse to give up hope, not when there are humans who have joined us to promote this peace." he said. "Such a diverse group too... Do you believe in peace? You must. But, where are my manners to such honored guests? I was just about to have a feast with my generals. Will you join us?" he inquired. "Let us talk our hearts out over a wealthy meal." he offered, as various lizardfolk men joined the tent, four armed lizard folk who walked right past the group to sit on their behinds at a low table. "Wonderful timing! This must be destiny!" he laughed.

"The food was almost ready, so we came in." said one of the lizard men. After having said that, a collection of nude human women marched in, chests puffed out and looking proud. "Human cooking! I can smell the meat, the similarity between our tastes as a species is but another reason why we belong together!" he declared, as a feast of pork and fish was put at the table, with purple liquid served to all open spaces, including where the girls were offered after a moment, when the human girls realized there would be more joining them. "Come! Come! Eat, drink! Enjoy yourselves! Let us talk at the table. I want to hear everything you have to say!"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia couldn't help but stare a bit at the chieftain as she entered the wooden hall. While the guards were impressive enough on their own, this particular specimen was enormous. His body was not only huge, but well-conditioned. Given the massive halberd at his side, she could take a guess as to why. Not to mention the scales on his body... Her own were quite capable of diverting a blow, but his were like a suit of armor. It was quite obvious he would be a terrifying opponent to face in a melee, moreso than the half-orc they had killed not too long ago. It was a good thing they didn't end up resorting to force.

What was most suprising, however, was the chief's personality. Sure, he was as loud as someone that size would likely be, but he didn't even try to be imposing. Boisterous, sure, but welcoming. Even friendly. Though perhaps a little too enthusiastic. For one thing, the sorceress couldn't really envision a situation where the new mayor would marry him, not that she was about to say so out loud. Still, his attitude presented an opportunity. "Ah. We would be honored to accept your invitation." The sorceress replied to the greeting with a polite bow. She glanced at the others to check their reactions. Refusing the invitation would likely be viewed as rude, so it seemed ill advised.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"No need to bow! I might be a leader but I'm not arrogant. Besides, I'm a half breed. Why, I ought to be bowing to you!" he laughed humbly, even offering a small nod of his head.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"I am of mixed ancestry as well. There is no need to bow to me." Talia replied, blinking. She was rather suprised by the response she got, but hardly displeased. Either way, she'd take a place at the table, making sure to observe any customs she could recognize and not break them.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"We're just showing respect where it is do, Honored chief. Mixed breed or no, it's the quality of character that should determine how people see you. Not your ancestry." Vylyra started off as complimentary as she could. But given how pleasant things were already, she could relax a little in the middle of all this discussion. Yes, even the bare breasted women couldn't distract the ranger...too much at least. She was still suffering from the effects of her last capture.

"And given how you've greeted us and how your people seemed quite willing to let us speak, speaks volumes to your intentions. A far sight better then being yelled at by angry townsfolk. But, we're here to help and hopefully mend whatever wounds have been create in these difficult times. People find it easier to hate then to understand people sometimes. Least it seems like some are taking steps to move past that. Though odd that that woman would assume we'd go straight to violence."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

As the girls spoke, he invited them. "Come, sit! Why stand? I'm sitting, so should you!" he offered, taking a huge chunk of pork into his maw and destroying it in his terrifying mouth. Talia was already doing it, and the lizardfolk began eating and drinking, and the human women soon returned with more food and drink, but it was for them, as they sat down and shared in the festivities, one even cheering a lizard folk, who looked confused at first, before he carefully knocked his cup against hers. She seemed to tell him it was a human thing.

"We're just showing respect where it is do, Honored chief. Mixed breed or no, it's the quality of character that should determine how people see you. Not your ancestry." Vylyra started off as complimentary as she could. But given how pleasant things were already, she could relax a little in the middle of all this discussion. Least it seems like some are taking steps to move past that. Though odd that that woman would assume we'd go straight to violence."

"Well, I hope I'm making a good impression!" he laughed. "It's quite nice, to have a feeling of kinship and belonging. I hungered for it so, while I was chained, scorned by both races, human and lizard alike. But, then she came into my life, unlocked my potential, and now I can not only be welcome, but live as a respected leader! I don't care what was said, I only like what I see! Friendship! Kinship! Feast! Drink! Enjoy life!"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Weiss simply went along with the rest of the group, following them into the chieftain’s hut, while trying her best to avoid eye contact with the naked bodies and various acts of debauchery happening around her, it was a little bit overwhelming for Weiss. When they reached hut, Weiss closely inspected what she presumed was their chief. Weiss couldn’t help but stare at the chief’s impressive length and his enormous body, making her look a little embarrassed at how much she was staring at him. Though, the unchained tattoo made Weiss a little bit wary of the man, she wasn’t exactly sure what it meant to be unchained or chained, but so far he seemed welcoming enough and she wasn’t going to judge him for breaking his tattoo.

Weiss followed Talia into the room and sat down in front of the leader making herself comfortable. ''Thank you for inviting us.'' Weiss said politely, though she didn’t consume any of the food and drink. Weiss made sure to avoid staring at any of the naked bodies that were moving around the room, though she couldn’t help but occasionally glance over them with her face flushing red each single time. ''You can’t exactly force one to marry another, that’s probably one of the reasons that town is so miserable, if the mayor refused your offer, perhaps a different approach to unify would be more appropriate, and from what I can tell, she isn’t evil, she’s just wary of lizard folk because of the mistakes earlier human clan leaders made, you must be pretty familiar with the greed humans are sometimes capable of, as the previous human leaders were greedy enough to sell their own people as slaves to the lizard folk. You probably could understand why that would make her cautious in dealing with you, even if it isn’t your fault.'' Weiss explained to the leader while idly sloshing around the liquid in her cup.

''As long as you just want peace between the two races, I wouldn’t mind helping you. Although, you might be one of the unchained, so far you only have shown us kindness and respect, that’s more than I can say for how most treat us. However, I can’t exactly force the human clan leader to marry you, nor are you willing to migrate from what I’ve heard, but perhaps a peace treaty and trading agreement between the two of you would suffice, and maybe even being able to freely migrate to each other’s towns would be benefit you both. My goddess would happily bless such a union, but the only thing that worries me is the tattoo on your wrist, I would like to know what promises you made to the one that gave you that.'' Weiss inquired, perhaps the unchained weren’t evil at all, and maybe the chained and unchained could work together. They didn’t look hostile, and if being unchained only meant losing your purity, one should be free to do so, but she was worried helping them might create problems in the future, especially if they were forced join an unchained army later on.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya listened, smiling as she took a seat and ate happily. "I can respect a leader such as yourself. Still, I wonder if perhaps the culture clash might be difficult to hurdle over. Evil's a funny thing to pin down after all. You've got true objective evils. but it's also just a word and can be misused in so many ways. I suspect the humans in the town perceive you all as such. And well you've mentioned seeing the leader of the human village as perhaps that too. It might simply be you disagree."

She ponders a bit. "It's a fine thing you have here on the face of it. But you're not concerned there might be a price to be paid for it in the end? The broken chain is the symbol of a demon. You may be asked or used to hurt half those you'd like to be friends with. The first one with that symbol we met kidnapped people from our town and meant to assault our town too. It ended violently, though it might have been avoided. So far it seems we may have taken that lesson to heart since we're doing better so far."

Laya takes a bite and nods, looking to the chieftain. "We did learn from that though that not every descendant of the heroes was the most virtuous individuals. That's what the chain is incidentally, it marks that, among other things. So in this case we need to look into both sides of this dispute throughly on this whole subject. So I just want to be sure. You're not using power or anything to lure or control these humans? They're here of their own will? Due diligence and such, I'd prefer to think you're a good man. And I'll have to look throughly into the town too as well. Which is good for you too, since if this truly is aggression only from the human side, and she does prove to be evil you probably won't want to marry her anyways."

"While we're at it, what's your ideal outcome in this whole place? Like if you somehow could get everything your way, where would you like to see things a decade from here or so?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kethanua looked prepared to make some kind of answer to the chieftain's questions, but then there was food, and wine, and people bustling all around, and then everyone was talking, and well, in the end, she wound up listening to the question-and-answer session over the brim of her cup of wine.

"...have to buy the cook..." she mumbled at one point, before taking another hearty bite of the pork. She was paying attention! Really! But the food was so good.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

I would like to know what promises you made to the one that gave you that.'

All of what Weiss was wondering was answered at once. "Ah, you see, it's a bit of a problem. Indeed, marriage cannot be forced. Coerced maybe, but one cannot just attach strings to her and make her say things she doesn't want to. It's a problem. I could truly find peace if only she saw eye to eye to me. Relations of lizard clans can only truly join unions through marriage. I've broken many customs, but some I cannot truly break. And the woman in red gave me one condition, to form sexual union with the mayor of that town. It's a problem." he hummed. "Being direct didn't work at all, certainly not. She chased me off. I wonder if I even have a chance, or if I'll just be disappointing my patron. Such a problem." he sighed.

"Well, considering my circumstances before, things can only go up. And as far as the woman promised me, no ill will befall me. Though, she also said I would become your target. So perhaps not all things she said were true, indeed." he chuckled.

[Laya does has satisfied her hunger and thirst at the table, and will not need to consume rations the next time I call for it. Mark dis down somewhere so neither of us forget.]

Which is good for you too, since if this truly is aggression only from the human side, and she does prove to be evil you probably won't want to marry her anyways."

"Well, I'll be honest, the history of the chains elude me. But! I haven't noticed anything so it can't be too important." he chuckled, then, he looked shocked at her question/accusation of using powers to keep the humans here. "I'm... Glad you prefer to think of me as a good man. I mean, that almost sounds like a loaded question. I almost want to ask... Do they look controlled? I have no leashes or collars, and no drugs in this tent or the next. I certainly know no magic, that's what the shamen are for, and they mostly dabble in transformation more than control of the mind." he said, then chuckled on the topic of the mayor. "Oh, come now. "I" never said she was evil! She looks like a confused girl who's scared of my understandably intimidating physique. I don't mistake fear for evil." he hummed.

"While we're at it, what's your ideal outcome in this whole place? Like if you somehow could get everything your way, where would you like to see things a decade from here or so?"

He grinned. "Ah, a wonderful topic at last. Well... I'd like about twelve wives. A dozen is a nice word. The mayor would be among them, and I know I'm out of my league here, but... The woman in red enchants me. I wish she were among my sweethearts, but she seems far out of my reach... Let's see... Each of my wives would be powerful, from a union between tribes, so my influence would be massive. I'd rule over so many places, and I'd travel all the time to have celebrations and maybe get my hands dirty with bettering some of my wives communities. Maybe once I've reached a nice level of power, I'd start journeying to lands beyond, seek leaders of other areas and show them the prosperity and peace of my lands. What a dream, right? But it's so far out of sight if just this is a hurdle for me. Heh, I must look so ridiculous."

[Insight: Laya was unable to detect anything out of the ordinary, or hidden intentions. He seemed earnest.]

[Kethanua also does not need food or water by partaking in the feast, commence jotting.]
