(Open to New Players) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Well, we'd better hope their home isn't partially submerged or totally surrounded by water then.," shrugs Laya, "Can we get moving now?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Might as well, I suppose." Talia sighed. "If none of you want to try the water route, then I guess we're back to footslogging. Can you plot a path that leads through some relatively stable terrain?" She turned to the ranger.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"What the mayor says makes sense. Why cripple our fighting capabilities by going to the water or limiting ourselves with boat travel? I have no training in water navigation and even less in fighting underwater and I'm sure the same goes for many of you. Might as well play to our strengths and make them come to us should worse come to worse. And with my map along with my training, we should be able to navigate the area just fine. We're gonna get our boots wet one way or the other ladies. But that's the life we signed up for when we became adventurers."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Of course," agreed their drow companion. "My boots will be fine. Let's get moving." Her tone was clipped, tense. Rushed?

Later, out of earshot of the mayor and the rest of the townsfolk, she turned to the others with her thoughts. "Lingering corruption ever since the last invasion, selling slaves to the Spawn Devils for pleasure, and now the same men who were yielding to temptation before have been 'kidnapped'? I don't think we'll find only lizardfolk opposing us, and I'm not sure that returning the 'captives' would be safe for everyone else."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia raised an eyebrow as she listened to the drow when she spoke, considering her points. "It's possible at least some of them were unwilling captives. Remember the angry townsfolk? At least some of them don't like what happened." She pointed out. "Though if we don't return them, then what else are we going to do? I can agree with using force against those that oppose us, but those that aren't actively on the enemy's side? What about them?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Investigation will yield the truth. Personally I think I'm going to get raped with increasingly larger reptile cocks the longer this goes up. Maybe I'll be the next one with dragon something like Talia.," shrugs Laya as she takes some notes before taking out her lute and starting to play upon it.

"I mean, push comes to shove, we do what we have to for our side. Fact is this isn't good and evil per say. Just corrupt and not corrupt. Which is pretty vague nebulous terms honestly. Like orange and blue. They steal and corrupt ours, we kill and stab them, you know, it's a whole thing. We'll see what everyone does when we arrive. I'm personally thinking lizard rape. And when I figure that shapeshift spell out chances are I'll get raped by the lizard girls too."

Laya hums as she goes, "Not particularly heartening but well, given we had some sort of mutual peace when the demon was sealed, it's as good a goal as any."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"I truly don't know," replied Kethanua. The nervousness pulled her brow tight, even if she kept it out of her tone. "I'm not proposing we go out planning to play arbiter... And I definitely don't plan to be violated," she added, giving Laya a deeply concerned side-eye.

"I just don't think we should turn our backs on the men we rescue until we're sure they aren't enspelled, or simply moral degenerates themselves."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Laya... What in the actual fuck?" Talia sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as she tried to follow the bard's train of thought before giving up soon. "Actually, don't answer that. I don't even want to know. What I do know is that I don't plan on having any violation happen to me, at least, and intend to make sure things go exactly that way. Over dead bodies if I have to, especially since said peace was apparently secured through dubious means anyway." The sorceress turned to look at Kethanua. "And you've got a good point there. It won't hurt to be extra careful with anybody we find there."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

As the women spent a great deal of time in the streets talking, a fat woman came charging out of her house. "He's gone! He's gone!" she exclaimed. "They must have taken him, the back door is open! Do something!" she ushered to the Mayor. "Are you worth a damn!? DO SOMETHING!"

The mayor looked to the girls. "Do something."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"See? Told you we were taking too long. Let's go already.," says Laya, looking to the noise, before heading to go look to the back of the house.

"Course, I'm already taking bet's on what happened. Might owe me some money."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia groaned. Sometimes she wished people would actually solve their own damn problems rather than leave it to the likes of her. Maybe once she got more powerful she could start threatening them with fireballs to do just that? No matter. Looks like they had a fresh disappearance, and thus a fresh trail to follow. "I'm not taking any of your bets, Laya. They never end well."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Well at least we have a solid lead and a fresh trail to follow."The ranger turned to the woman that just arrived. "Ma'am, may we follow the exit out of your house so we can better follow the trail? I promise you, we'll get tot he bottom of this and get your husband back."Hopefully, the rangers polite tone would be enough and she'd simply agree without much issue. She'd unfold the map regardless of the answer and would lead the group when things finally got moving. "Lead out of your boots people. We got work to do."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

She grabbed the ranger and started pushing her along. "WHATEVER, JUST GO! HE COULD ALREADY BE DEAD WHILE YOU'RE TALKING AT ME, YA FOOL!" she screamed.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

And then, some of the girls split up, some remained behind to ponder the situation and converse. Some seemed absent. Regardless, those who went found the backdoor open as expected. As doubly expected, the husband was gone.

(Roll perception, investigation, etc, to discover things. Everyone do their own thing, and one action per each person.)

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia blinked as she surveyed the location. It was about what she had expected it to be. Open door, missing husband, the whole shebang. What puzzled her was how the lizards were able to infiltrate the town with none the wiser. Hidden supporters? Some unknown paths? Supernatural means? Or were they just that good? Deciding to test one of those possibilities, the sorceress began to search for traces of magic in the area, wondering if she'd find anything at all.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Weiss held back the mayor one last time, as she was curious about something. ''M-May I ask one final thing? Are the men that get kidnapped, lonely, lecherous or unhappily married? Since it’s a small village, I figured you might know them a little.'' Weiss asked, perhaps the men didn’t get forcibly kidnapped at all, but simply left with the lizard women when they asked them too.

Weiss joined Talia in searching the house. However, she wasn’t interested if anything magical happened. Instead, Weiss was more curious about affirming her suspicions that the men might be leaving on their own accord, or at least not put up any fight. First she looked around for any signs of struggle, knocked over furniture, scratch marks, or anything that would indicate the husband struggled. And, if she had time, she would look around for any fresh tracks left by the lizard women, as they maybe could quickly track them down, and catch up with them before they reached their territory.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

The ranger didn't like the fact that the large woman was being so damn rude. You think this fat cow would be a little more grateful for the help and not scream at them like a banshee. Could already be dead? He's probably been gone for an hour or two and if the rumors are true, maybe he left to find a woman who might actually appreciate him. Least a lizard woman might be kinder then this. Maybe she'll change her tone once they come back with her husband. "Lets just make this quick so we don't have to be in this town for much longer. One more run in like that and I might just up and quit. Now you know why I live outside of town back home." The ranger grumbled as the troupe began investigating the house using both magical and mundane means. Again, her ranger training would come in handy here. Lizard people weren't the stealthiest of peoples, so how hard could they be to track?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kethanua breezed through the small house without meaningful pause until she was standing outside the back door. "They left this way, you said?" she asked as she followed the departing tracks with her gaze.

At least they won't be hard to follow. Can anyone make sense of whether this looks like a struggle?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya hummed as she went inside. "Honestly, I'm not too surprised if they left of their own accord. Be it be by siren's song, or addictive bodies or unhappy existance or something innate to the lizardfolk perhaps, time will tell I suppose. But that's what an investigation is for. The good news is if they're taking humans, they have to be using a method to bring them that's survivable by us in turn."

She decided to do a proper investigation into the area, checking around carefully.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia didn't seem to find anything related to magic.

"Well, does anyone in this village look happy?" she sighed, before Weiss went to go investigate.

Both Keth and Weiss saw that there were absolutely no signs of struggle. The back door had a dead bolt lock on it, which wasn't damaged.

Laya managed to gather that, judging by the very clear footprints outside that Weiss and Keth also spotted, the lizard person only walked up to the back door, where the man joined them and fled the house together.

In addition, Weiss and Keth both saw in the far distance, a boat sailing away. It had two patrons riding it.
