ACT [Perveloper]Captivity


How do you do the Rape Achievements? I lose a Heart after 3 rapes. It says don't get a Broken mind but from what I can tell there is no way around it.
do they have to rape you to the end of the animation or does just them grabbing you count as 1? it's so confusing.
Say I want the sunny Achievement does it has to be 15 different sunnies or can the same one do it?

I think it depends on the achievement. For the zombie dogs one for example you are supposed to get knotted 8 times, which requires you to get to the end of the animation. I think you can theoretically use the same mob, but given the strategy I'm about to explain for how to survive doing it, that's not a good idea.

So the strategy I used, was to get to a point with my weapons that I felt comfortable surviving whatever came next, then start trying to get the achievement. After every wave buy the stamina recovery, and the arousal reduction, then use the arousal reduction right before you get yourself raped. It reduces your arousal over time, so it will keep your arousal low through the rape, and keep you from building up dangerous levels of the pink bar (which I can't remember what it was called, maybe ecstasy?). This worked well for the dogs, given that you have to get them all the way to the end for the knot to get the achievement, but for the others, especially since the knotting needed 8, while the others seem to need bigger numbers, I think you can get away with starting the animation then immediately struggling out. I think there is also a button to deliberately expose yourself, so you get raped not hit? If there is I'd use that when trying to get the achievement. I can't remember, because I haven't played in a while. Clearly something I need to rectify. I know I got all the achievements on the first level, but hadn't made much progress on the others the last time I put it down.

As the previous comment has said, its all about getting a stockpile of arousal reducers, plus some stamina boosters if you're doing it over multiple waves since you'll still need to fight. hit the wave benchmark first, get yourself stable with a good weapon, then spend a few waves buying up the drugs you'll need. The rape ones are easier, as IIRC you just need the grab to get to the point of penetration for it to count, while the knotted one and similar require the grab going it's full course.

Somewhere in the level theres a pipe thats spewing fire up above, jump into it and the face humper will catch fire and (start to?) die.
 
Hey, sorry if this counts as a pointless thread bump. After seeing this game's development was allegedly discontinued on the itch.io page, it left me with one last question.

Anybody have an idea why the developer stopped working on Captivity? Seems like a game with a ton of time put into it, and a following developed from that time and effort as well. More than a year after the updates stopped rolling in, the page is still getting frequent-ish comments. They must have had something going on here, so why'd they just stop one day?

Edit: Nevermind, the dev's notes on the last update tells a big enough story for what happened. School, motivation, shitty code. They talk about things possibly changing but it's been more than a year since this was written. And, ugh.... as per usual, it's another dev thinking about transitioning to 3d and spending years of their life making the most mediocre game ever.

As someone who hung out on the game's discord server way back when it was new and popular, I can actually say 100% for sure.

The dev was super into it, and had all these ideas and inspiration to work on more content for the game, only for school to get busy and eat up all their time. Then, as they were working on school stuff they had an epiphany of sorts; it occurred to him "do I really want my resume to include a porn game featuring a woman getting raped by dogs, bugs and robots?" so he decided to go clean and cut R18 content out entirely.

That's why wehaven't heard anything from him in forever; he just completely pulled out of the adult community. There was no transition to 3d or anything like that.

I mean, I don't think that's something one would include on a normal resume to begin with. If it was a matter of him trying to avoid having his name attached to his R-18 work, which seemed to be the case, he could've worked under difference aliases if he wanted to. Though I can understand if he'd rather focus on normal career stuff rather than balancing and compartmentalizing normal work and porn games.
 
Developing porn games can be a long-term commitment more than anything.
MGQ is ancient and that poor dev is still hard at work trying to perfect his art.
Juggling good quality content while doing the daily grind is way too much commitment.
 
The orc'll start spawning after wave 4 if I remember correctly
