I was speaking solely to the discrepancy that posting large tits and thick thighs of characters that are explicitly mentioned as being under 18 is okay, but characters that are mentioned being over 18 and being diminutive is not. If they really wanted to, they could immediately shut this place down for every school RPG maker game out, because they're all usually listed as being under 18, in some way. And, as you said, the creator of the game saying "ALL CHARACTERS ARE OVER 18" doesn't fly, because we also have to censor by body type. And there's a lot of threads with game links still active that you've simply missed or aren't going to take out. The only way to deal with it permanently is to abolish public link sharing. Nobody is going to go out of their way to record every instance of every school eroge/eroge with high schoolers that's been posted here. It'd be an act of faith/insanity.

I'm not saying anything of what you said, that people shouldn't comply with board policy. I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying that the whole thing is dumb, because if they wanted to get you on the corrupt law to begin with, they simply will.

All these doujin of characters from shows where the main characters are like 16, etc., it doesn't matter how they're drawn, in the end. It's about utility in attacking an unfavored class. And I can tell you, we're all unfavored. It's just a matter of time till they expand. Bestiality and other stuff are already on the EU chopping block. Hell, they wanted to outlaw porn altogether, if it showed women in degrading situations. And you're right about being able to find it other places, but some threads are nuked for just being about 100% loli games. I can't even find the Vita game thread anymore, and I'm quite sure there used to be one.

So, I'm not saying to violate board policy, just venting on how fruitless compliance will be in the future. They're coming, and they won't be placated. And before someone screams "YOU'RE JUST TWISTING LOGIC YOU FILTHY PEDOPHILE", I like a wiiiiide variety of shapes and sizes. You'll find an incredibly large contingent of people that are the same way, and also ones that are strictly 2D and abhor 3D (real world) in all its forms.

Does this belong in another thread or not at all? Probably. I won't feel bad if you delete my posts, as that would be the correct way to deal with it if you think that's where this has gone. My post was never an attack on the board or anyone, just a lamentation.

It's the same despair I feel in regards to the revival of extreme censorship after the Japanese government made arrests at the behest of the corrupt and Yakuza-run censorship bureau people. You pay money to them, or your porn mag gets you arrested, no matter what you censor. Can't do anything, but if the answer is to kowtow and hope not to be singled out, I can't help but be depressed.

but discussion are fine as long there's no preview image or non-PM link, even ToxicShock recommend PM link method (i forgot what thread though), so unless you're really hate PM-ing i didn't see anything despairing

i think a lot of people misunderstand the rules, the only ban is directly sharing explicit underage material like download link and/or preview image, not forbidding users to make a discussion thread for game with underage character, and users could just inputting a part of the game's name or RJ code(if its from dlsite) to make the thread

its not like i'm siding with ToxicShock or anything, but user just user, unless user(s) have a blackmail material towards the lawmaker user(s) must follow the law

Well said, dienow, it's a sad state of affairs when fictional material is being censored just to placate people's feelings. In the country I live in, not even your life is yours. The state will find a way to screw you in one way or another to further it's own goals and the people will just meekly accept it. It's saddening to see the hard won freedoms begin eroded by an overzealous government and an apathetic populace. They don't even have any studies on the effects of pornography and they're already ready to jump the gun and censor/ban it.

There is no logic or reason in that, it's utter lunacy and sets a disturbing precedent. In Japan some tiny white bars are the difference between illegal porn and legal porn. It's utter madness. What people don't understand is when you can't hold a government accountable for it's actions, it's going to abuse that power. It's porn censorship today, tomorrow, it'll be restrictions on political opposition. Can't have such dangerous elements in society, can we? Then begin the descent to a fully fledged police state, thought crimes anyone? Laws aren't the arbiter of right and wrong. Slavery, rape and genocide was once considered okay and even legal for some people. If laws are unjust should they still be upheld? Just to clarify, this isn't a statement aimed towards Toxic or ULMF, I understand they have money invested into this website and don't want to face financial/legal troubles, that's fine. This is aimed at the 'it's the law, we MUST follow it regardless of what the law is or what it stands for!' crowd. I have no doubt these same people would be okay with any atrocity as long as it's 'legal'.

My rant isn't even about porn, I don't like lolis either. It's a rant of out fear. Fear that eventually something really valuable like political discourse, knowledge or fundamental freedoms will be swept away, and nobody will care.

The law is stupid, we still follow it. Wanna change it? Don't get all ranty and depressed on a hentai forum, cuz that ain't doing shit. Any internet law is incredibly grey and can just be applied to extremes, but also be realistic about what someone is willing to 'prosecute' (not persecute, as you're trying to make it sound, a bit paranoid really.) This argument has been done to death over and over by much smarter users than you or myself.

As for this thread, it won't have any more conversation about this.

sooo.... since I *really* don't want to read yet another long (and pointless) multipage rant/insult/whine about the pros and cons of being law abiding (and staying both online and out of jail) vs. others' perspectives on censorship and logic, was there any official consensus on whether or not this game was verboten or 'ok'?

I realize that is rather harsh of me not to just hang on *every* *single* *word* of those long, emotional posts... but I really haven't recovered from the last time! (plus I tore something in my shoulder last week attempting to avoid the idiot who pulled out in front of me in rush hour traffic and the pain really lowers my patience threshold)

It's always going to be a stupid argument for either side. You could have a creator make a character that looks like she is 4 years old and really be 20. You could also have a creator make a character that looks like she is like 20 and has quadruple F breasts but he says she is 4. Which is loli and which isn't? Or are both loli? Or both not? meh.

This. In my opinion, there is probably a character in the game that is loli. The shots of the main character I see are nothing at all like a loli. The pictures of the sprites on the other hand do sort of show her breasts as smaller. Still, not loli.

Has to be an alternative character, enemy or NPC or something.

Actually circles that have loli tag usually get more downloads not less. I remember people joking about how if the game has loli or has something to do with DQ it's guaranteed 1k downloads lol. Also, the protagonist isn't a loli because a loli is someone that looks like a kid so yea it's most likely some other character in there.

And for the record(sorry Toxic for bringing this back up) child porn as well as anything that looks like child porn is against the law in the US and is a felony. Loli looks like child porn so it is illegal. End of story. Other porn like Pokemon hentai and Nanako from VH are also illegal because the girls are actually underage. There really shouldn't be any confusion about this.

tl;dr: anything that is child porn or looks like child porn is illegal.

Whatever the case may be, let's not discuss laws, again. This is not the place.
We're here to discuss gameplay, updates, and art. We can do so without measuring thigh sizes or throwing around lawyers.
The way I see it, there's enough legal grey here that the best we can do is avoid attention, so let's not have large discussions frequently mentioning the bad words

Anyhow, as for release timing, the last mention I can see on the blog is "August at the earliest".
There's a blog comment late last month talking about a demo, but I can't quite make it out.
The best I get is "We're trying to release the demo as soon as we can", but it might just mean "We can't release the demo until things are done enough"...
I guess it'll just be up to people following the blog or watching the dlsite announce page for the magic orange button...
