The latest version of this game just came out. It looks like they fixed the monster encounter rate, which was probably too high to begin with lol. I reuploaded the game to version 1.08 for those that want it, just send a PM my way.
As for my thoughts on the game, it's an extremely strong entry for this circle's first RPG. You can tell a lot of time and effort was put into it based on the prologue alone. It was probably the most emotional I've ever felt playing one of these games. If you've been playing RPGMaker games for a long time, it's common to feel absolutely nothing from these types of games. However, that prologue was devastating. It reminded me so much of the 3rd Act of LiliTales. And there aren't many games that can be compared to LiliTales. LiliTales is almost in a class of its own.
King Exit has a few flaws. One is that the monster encounter rate was much too frequent. Fortunately, it looks like they fixed that in the newest version of the game. Second, the combat in the game could be better. It's a pretty simple turn-based affair that you expect from RPGMaker games, but this game was so ambitious that the lack of innovation in combat rang false. Lastly, and this one is probably more minor, is that there's a lack of voice acting that I've almost come to expect in the last couple years. Don't get me wrong, it only detracts from the experience a little bit. But it affects the game in a way where instead of giving it a perfect score, it's simply just a 9 out of 10. It's a great game. It's basically Hunter x Hunter before you get to the Chimera Ant Arc. My only disappointment is that it came really close to being a perfect game. Regardless, it's still one of the best games of 2016.
I'd recommend playing the game with Visual Novel Reader and using its configuration to go through Google Translate. Google's machine translation has improved substantially over the last year or so, and you can probably decipher around 75% of the story by using VNR.
