Disclaimer: I'm still what I would consider a beginner/intermediate when it comes to Japanese. I liberally use wwwjdic and online dictionaries to help, so expect some inaccuracies. I spend more time on story dialogue to get it right than generic NPC speech, though. If you have any edits or things I can fix, I won't take any offense, please post/let me know.

Has anyone figured out what the pick axe is for? I am also missing two scenes if you count them as 1-15.. I am missing scene 6 and 8. Anyone completed this 100%?

In the cave and mountain areas there are "cracks" in certain walls, clicking at that area will open a door that will give you loot and stuff. Generally if you see a massive block that feels like there's a room, then there will be a crack on it you can open for some goodies.
