The key I gave still has 9 uses on it.

If anyone has a spare key to give, I would appreciate it

Re: [HTML5]LEWD, an erotic text adventure... in space! (Alpha1 release is out!)

Came here looking for a key after seeing the Post of the post on /r/futanari and the code already had the uses taken.

Here's also a key to get started for you guys with 15 uses on it: THE0-OFFI-CIAL-LEWD

Tried it, used already. Damn it.

For Patrons, your access key will get one use for each $1 you’ve successfully charged through Patreon. You can share your key however you see fit.
TL: DR, Patron now! Waiting on my code.

Yeah, most of the codes went away really fast..

There's lots of Patrons that have many more if they get around to sharing them, or the new Patreons do once they're charged at the beginning of December, so maybe people will share them.

I'm not giving out more keys just yet. Found a major bug I want to fix first.

Well, I started moving across the map very jittery, and was then teleported to an island to the right that I could only leave by rapidly changing my walking destination to force the bug to happen again.

Re: [HTML5]LEWD, an erotic text adventure... in space! (Alpha1 release is out!)

Hm, really?

You mean you got moved off the island you start off to the right or bottom just by moving around? It wasn't an option you selected in a scenario?

The movement shouldn't be jittery. Maybe if ping is really high. Movement is something I recoded since the prototype to use interpolation and made really smooth.
Or is it your framerate that's low?

Re: [HTML5]LEWD, an erotic text adventure... in space! (Alpha1 release is out!)

There is this thing where selecting certain options leads to a sort of dead end, where it is supposed to either close the text window, or give an option to select, but it doesn't and you have to refresh because you are stuck. Like the Locked Door in the on Outpost 833 or re-meeting the Race 'Taur and selecting "I'd would you eat me out" ( I am playing as a Futa, so that might be the problem.)

You mean it was getting stuck when selecting "Turn back around"? fixed.

Not sure what's causing the eating out option to fail right now. Will take some more looking into.

It might have been my framerate, I'm stuck on a laptop that suffers periodic slowdowns right now.

Can you put up more screenshots or maybe even a short video showcasing what this is like? I'd rather get a general impression of what it's like before entering registration details or anything like that.

I'll either like what I see, or I won't. Right now, I don't have much to work with, other than the about blurb, but the dialog thingy at the bottom of the page was cut off, so I couldn't form an opinion of that.

Screenshots, impressions. Something.

Hmn. A video for a short introduction to how it plays is a good idea. I can't get around to that just yet, though.

There's a few important bugs left to fix, then I'll do something like that for the "Game Info" page.

Re: [HTML5]LEWD, an erotic text adventure... in space! (Alpha server is now up!)

I've thought about it, but it's not simple and it's not worth all the time and effort to make it happen unless it's what people who are supporting it want.
Well, I understand changing code from server-side dependency to client side can be a very difficult and time-intensive task. And thank you for your answer, even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear. Best of luck with your game.

Re: [HTML5]LEWD, an erotic text adventure... in space! (Alpha1 release is out!)

Well, here's the 2 cents of someone who just stumbled upon this project and tried to get an informed view of what this is supposed to be.

Conclusion: There are too many hoops and walls that keep me out of it.

Honestly, i couldn't get it to work and it seems to me that the way this is supposed to work is way too finicky to serve as a demo or even alpha-gameplay release. I'm talking of the non-patreon way of accessing the game, that is. I won't pay up-front for something i haven't even seen in action, but that is just me.

Hunting for keys that can only be used a couple of times spread over the entire player-base? That seems like a horrible practice and too much of a hassle. It doesn't seem to work for me and immediately makes me not want to play this at all. Mind you, if it works for others, great for them.

I will probably try to get this to run a few times in the future, probably not while this key-activation is in place because it doesn't work for me. But so far, i still know nothing about this game and my interest took a huge blow already. Maybe it would be a good idea to re-evaluate the method of accessibility, unless you have enough paying customers, that is.

Good luck with whatever this game is supposed to be.

Is it really that difficult to get working? I think I have things way more streamlined than most things like this.

Seems you're just saying you didn't get a key. I mean... it's not open access and I'm not sure what gives you the impression that it's supposed to be when text all over says contrary.
It's how virtually every main stream game works where you either preorder it or you hope you are lucky enough to get a key early. Not sure how that can possibly be confusing or "hoops".

Eh technically you can package pretty much any client-server game as an install that runs the server on the client and the client connects to themselves. That's how Torchlight does it.
The problem is that the proprietary server I made, which is far from simple and made to run a lot more complicated things than just this game, can then be decompiled and it's too valuable to allow that to be possible.

All the ready to use MMO servers out there like Hero Engine that SWTOR uses that are openly available and not proprietary are really bad.

So the reason I'd have to recode it is to make something more simple that only has to run what LEWD does.

Yes, i think it is too difficult to get it working. As i outlined, it's way too much of a hassle, if your only goal is to get an informed opinion of this game before you actually open your wallet.

I never said that i didn't get a key. What happened is that i used the key you kindly submitted and when i redeemed it on your site, it said that everything checks out fine, the key was alright and had uses on it but i was never able to get the game to run.

Now, whatever went wrong there aside, the fact remains that i still don't know anything about the game. I think a system, where you have to hope to get a key, which is limited in availability and usage across the entire potential player-base is bad. So, the game is not open access, fine. But the carrot on the stick (key) did nothing to win me over as a potential customer.

I mean, why is this key thingy even there? To give people a chance to get an impression, yes? Then do you think it's an effective system if it's so random? I think not. I would rather try a restricted, easy demo than hoping to grab a key, someday, somewhere when a blue moons falls from the sky.

But yeah, not trying to be negative or anything. If you are successful with that, congratulations.

Oh, haha. I didn't know it was that easy from the inside. I'm used to doing things from the outside, and let me tell you: It's a bitch to clone an MMO's server and get it running virtually on you comp.

I could dance around it all day to try and say it nicely, but I'll in the interest of brevity: I really don't like the thought of jerking off while playing a game with other people (that are most likely rather unattractive), and I don't like that anyone (the admin, other players, anyone monitoring my network traffic) would KNOW that I was playing your game. This is a very private hobby of mine, and imagine it is for the majority as well, why did you decide to make your H-text-game an MMO?

Use TOR.

You're on a porn forum with that internet right now as it is.

TOR's about as secure as it is secret anymore, dark-net my ass.

And yes, but I'm not trying to masturbate while I'm frequenting this site. My current situation actually dis-allows such acts but is a special case, and I would still have the exact same issues were that situation to change.

Didn't answer my question though... Feel free not to, it's not like I'm going to go around spouting that you're a WIERDO perv if you don't.

Oh I missed that question.

Because I wanted to make something new and different. And I like RP.

I don't understand, though. You're on ULMF. Being on a site for an adult game is no different. Downloading porn from a site is no different.
