While I agree that the 1st concept of the girl is way cuter than the last (which is more than weird), sadly there will always be peoples to think differently. Maybe the dev prefer it that way, or he got way too much comment / feedback to have the girl changed that way ?
No way to please everyone, but yeah, that part seem to head into a way we don't want it to take...
Let's hope the rest of the game won't go the same way.

(with the sprite preview, I doubt he'll greatly change the girl in the futur.... but who can tell...).

He said all the arts are pretty much done already i.e. he's not going to change his mind after all the works put in.

Which admittedly doesn't tell much about how close to release it is.

Disappointing. Sure, we're not entitled to anything, but how does one go from creating such great looking MCs to this? Looks like an alien horse hybrid that raided an AV actresses' wardrobe. Whatever, plenty of other great games out there to give money to.

I mean, he's not exactly entitled to our money either. If the artist somehow got it in his head that this... thing... was going to get him more $$$, then I think he's in for a very nasty surprise.

Not every dev think about money when making games or this game wouldn't have taken over 3 years just to get to the point it's at now. SG has been slowly moving towards realism with his characters every single game....it's just (to us) he took it too far. But I think he's just doing what he likes whether than what fans want.

Personally, I think the 3rd and 4th games were best. 3rd was his best with a still animeish feel while 4th honestly with his drawing style was the best at getting towards realism without becoming weird. While the earlier versions were better than this one, I honestly didn't care for any of them except the very first design from 2014/8/8.

I believe this character falls into that Uncanny Valley.

Uncanny, aye. But it seems so much effort has been put into it without any pay-off. She looks flat -and I'm not talking bust-size- holy goat.
I understand the style they were going for and how it was done. I have been trying my hand at it as well for another game I'll never finish (see attachment).
It's a very clean, inorganic way of working with vectorpaths and gradients and -especially- form and lighting can appear very artificial, but there seems to be none at all in SG's art at this point.
For shame.

You know guys it doesn't look that bad, I mean i'm sure they'l be scenes where she doesn't look like shes trying to take your soul back to her planet.

But It looks better than his middle creation of her, but the first was the best.

It's really up to the facial expressions and how they'l look. If she looks sexy getting groped then i'm good, I'd rather them settle on the girl and get a game pumpin. Cuz ScaleGardens games are god tier.

Well, only all the other pictures need to be edited when the game comes out, but with much more care.

I like the art style, it's a very realistic style of Jap women, while still maintaining stylization which I'm a fan of, it's very reminiscent of Resentiment. Regardless of your opinions this has always been his goal just because you don't like pseudo realistic representation of Jap women, doesn't mean all of us have to agree with you. You can go back to the countless other games out there that have hyper stylized characters with big ol' saucer eyes, or alien headed lolis. Moreover this guy doesn't care about western audiences since the vast majority of the shekels he gets are from other Japs, so whining about this doesn't help fix anything.

You clearly haven't played this guy's previous games, let alone checked out the stats or userbase on his DLsite let alone his blog posts if you think his approach towards more realism is some sort of "recent" novelty or development. Again there's plenty of porn games out there with styles for guys (maybe girls too?) who unironically hate "3dpd" women, if you don't like this game kvetching here about it won't do anyone any good.

Just out of curiosity, when you mention his blog, is it a customized blog he has or is the dlsite one?
