, this time you'll be running around forests and such, appreciating the diversity of fauna and flora.
This one is more action oriented that the first one, you basically run around killing stuff and picking up crap to make more crap.

Contains clothing damage, enemy grapples and fuck upon defeat (without game over). The demo has only 2 enemies I think: orcs and tentacles.

Renia the undiscouragable female knight endures hardships in a foreign land.

Her journey is fraught with difficulties, but she does not give up!

This hand-crafted R-18 Action RPG includes
new content which could not fit into the original Ashverse,
but it can be enjoyed as a standalone story.

Mix and match equipments and defeat enemies.

Playtime: approx. 1 hour
There is a reminisce room and replay options, etc.

Not a sequel, it shows what happened to the main character when she made the journey to the inn around the start of the first game.

Demo out already?! I thought this wasn't going to be released until November at the earliest.

But it taking place chronologically before the first one would make it a prequel.
It's important so we can know the full plot and backstory.

Not quite. If you've played the first game, the prologue shows how the heroine was invited to escort the princess to an inn in a neighbouring kingdom. Shortly after arriving at the inn, the heroine is kidnapped and the events of the first game take place.

This action game basically portrays the journey which the heroine and the princess took to get to the inn in the southern village.

Ignore chuenlee and his attempts to guess Japanese using a knowledge of Chinese characters; 断章 literally means fragment of a complete document or essay. This mini action game can be thought of as an intermission before the events of the first game took place. Depending on viewpoint, it may or may not be considered a "prequel".

According to what I read, it's indeed a side story.

This game takes place after she escaped the prison in the last game, and on the way back to her country.
and before fighting the last boss
So, neither sequel nor prequel. Just, like Harleyquin13 said, an intermission.

You're right. I'm mistaken for thinking the events happened before the kidnapping after re-reading the synopsis on the product page.

I don't care about a prequel, a sequel or an intermision (Or spin off), even if its important!

ehem xD nice find btw i liked the first one going to try the demo assap.

Its me or the arts seems...refined? i know the word i want ot use in spanish, dammit english is hard. What i mean are that the picture borders are more clearer and the colors more defined and bright.

Pick one.

Spin-off to me is re-telling the whole/part of the story differently, but since this part was never told in the original, it's not really a spin-off.

That's not what a spin-off is. A spin-off is not a re-telling, it's telling a different story within the same universe, or different parts of the same story from another perspective. For example, agents of shield is a spin-off of the avengers, the Animatrix is a spinoff of the matrix, the Hobbit is a spinoff of LOTR (When we're talking about the movies anyway)

all the regular sources just come up with the original because they share the same title except "-断章-". I dont think it's on anime sharing or nyaa yet
