sry but deleted the game :(

but yeah i think it has something to do with the RPGMaker XP RTP, but i really did downloaded it, but maybe not the Japanese version, have to download the game again to check

Would be cool if you could give me a link for the Japanese RPGMaker XP RTP version much appreciate it

So what exactly do I need to run this game in English?

I downloaded the game from the torrent linked in the OP. I got the translation. I downloaded and installed the Japanese RPGMakerXP RTP (atleast I assume I got the right one). Then I extracted the original game, extracted the english files in that folder and .... nothing. Game doesn't start. What am I missing?

if this does not help http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?t=796 you have messed something up - wrong translation patch maybe
edit. see if game runs without translation patch

Alright, I got the game working thanks to that link.

However now the translation isn't doing anything. :(

I downloaded the translation from this post: http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?p=684314#post684314

downloaded the file, extracted it, copied the files (a Data and Graphics folder, a .rxdata file and 2 text files (game.ini and tlnotes.text) ) to the game folder, overwriting the game.ini file.

Not sure what I can do differently? :confused:

after extracting delete rgss3 (or something those lines)file

after unpaking the the Game.rgssXX, have you correctly moved the data and graphic folder from the "extract" folder to where the game.exe is ?
you need to make that BEFORE installing the data/graphic from the translation

What do you mean with 'unpacking the Game.rgssXX'? Not sure what you want me to do with that file.

Also, if I straight up extract the original Japanese file, then there is no game or data file (but the game still plays).

oki, so you totaly missed how to install a partial/translation :p

look at the Yugi thread that i given : http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?t=28259

that will explain to you step by step what you need to make =)

you can get RPG Maker All Decrypter.exe here :

Got the translation installed fine, went back and installed the Japanese XP RTP, but still can't see any in-game text? Any suggestions?

If I recall I had a difficulty getting text to display on some rpgmaker games changing to japanese locale on my computer fixed the problem. If you don't want to go that far a certain one of the RPG Makers need a specific font can't quite recall of the top of my head...

(Hope I have helped at all ^.^)

From memory, you have to change the dll in the game.ini to have the text pop up (or use jap local setting).

Change the dll to => Library=RGSS104E.dll

you should have the dll in some rtp, but in case it bring you an error message, just put it in the game folder.
