The first one I forced because it was only two digits. I think it was 68 or around that.

close it's 66 the number of stalactites(or was it stalagmites I forget which are which)

Not that it matters, but here's a pneumonic device if anyone cares to remember:

StalaCtite - Ceiling

StalaGmite - Ground

It's how I remember which is which, at the least.

Wraith - equip[N] rises mental defense a bit
Pixie - equip[N] rises max hp/mp
White Tiger - equip[R] rises P.attack and speed by 30
Black Tortoise - equip[R] rises defense and mental defense by 20%
Azure Dragon - equip[R] increase effect of recovery items 50% and +50% exp acquisition
Vermilion Bird - equip[R] 10% chance to evade and counterattack
Qilin - equip[R] cuts skill cost by 50% / 5% regain(hp)
Ramiel - equip rises defense and mental defense by 30%
Lucifuge Rofocale - equip rises Pattack and mental Attack by 30%
Demon Queen - equip[L] extra skill when equipped and 20% boost to all stats

Tower Drops random encounters
Minotaur - equip p&mattack+100 p&mdefense-25
Akaname - equip cuts skill cost by 50% / 10% regain(mp)
Dryad - equip doubles effect of recovery items and 75% chance of a extra turn
Carbuncle - equip +50 to all stats
Catoblepas - equip speed +100 / speed x2 / mattack mdefense +50
Warrior - same item as Carbuncle it seems
Priest - same item as Minotaur
MK2 - same item as Dryad
Viviane - equip doubles drop rate, exp and money, also increases chance of a preemptive attack
Aya-hime - same item as Akaname
Kraken - same item as Catoblepas
Slime - equip[L] cuts skill cost by 50% +30 to all stats extra skill when equipped
tower boss giga slime - equip[L] evade and counterattacks seems to be 100%

Azure Dragon - equip[R] chance to automatically use the guard skill and +50% exp acquisition

The 50% exp increase is correct but I think the second effect here is increase effectiveness of recovery items by 50%

Sorry for the necro bump, but this game has me stumped.

There's about 3 pages on how to make Chiitrans work, but I don't have or use that program. Can someone tell me how the game is supposed to work or why I'm wandering around the forest for all eternity?

Even considering the forest is nothing but a training area, the only other places I can go are the camp and a cave to the south with stalagmites blocking my path.

Nevermind, I figured out it was because I had the trial version. I thought I had gotten the full version. Anyway, all the links seem to be dead.
